You would have to be comfortable with using LuCI to do it but i don't see why you couldn't

Yes to the VPN services, it runs full OpenWrt, so anything OpenWrt can do, this can do.

It works in most (probably all) of Africa if you travel through it, you just can't buy it in most of the countries.
