Not really BOGOF. Its Buy one, get something else free.

  • Anyone recommend one for kitchen/ dining area with ease of use?

    • I got one for $20, now $31: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/A5190/bush-dab-radio-with-pl…

I had to read the manual to program it, but its simple to change stations and volume. What else do you need?
Was very please with sound quality, signal reliability and eas of use. DAB is a huge improvement.
Like most, it has a built-in speaker and batteries for portable use, but at home you'd use the included AC adapter and external powered speakers.

The 2 for $99 does not seem especially attractive.
DSE has a micro hifi (with CD and speakers) for $55:

    • Anyone recommend one

Yep, get a Squeezebox and then you can access 10,0000's of stations, not limit yourself to 20 or so…

      • but then you also need an active internet connection, and (possibly) paying for data…

  • I just picked up a new with warranty Magicbox Arden from Grays, cost me about 40 odd dollars including deilvery, I can echo manics sentiments. The one I have is also put out by Bush, I'm pretty sure they are just cheap chinese stuff that's rebadged (but isn't everything?). Mine is upmarket from this Bush one, 2 speakers and wooden cabinet, probably about $100 retail. Still they are simple device for that price, in a year or 2 I see these for $15.

Sound = good, ease of use = good, reception = good. Looks = good, Volume = good for your kitchen maybe but don't expect to be having parties around it.
