Make sure use it regularly if not go for laser
Printing 3 or 4 times a week go for it or you spent lot of time on unclogging , which I am doing:( otherwise great printer

If you leave it powered on, it seems to automatically take care of this by itself- the print head occasionally moves around a bit and does something.

We go for a couple weeks without printing, and the printer has been fine. Had it about a year now.

        Mine doesn't

          Thanks for letting us know

  • I have one. These work well but some parts are flimsy like I guess most modern inkjets. Ink consumption prices are very economical with this model.

  • Is this actually compatible with Apple AirPrint as it's not listed here https://www.epson.com.au/connect_solutions/apple-airprint.as…

    • +1

Yes, i just checked. there is the Apple AirPrint logo printed on the box

    • +1

Mine does, but only on the local lan.

  • How does this compare with the economies of a laser printer with 3rd party toners? (black and white print only)

    • Laser is cheaper and faster black and white print only

Long time ago when I looked at numbers, maybe double the per page cost using OEM toners. i.e a couple of cents - both are utterly trivial compared to cartridge toners.

Running costs are not even worth thinking about.

The difference is that laser is generally monochrome, faster, and slightly sharper for text (though there was some clown who has tried arguing with me here that magically high DPI numbers for inkjet automatically makes inject moar superiororor, ignoring that paper is made of fibres which means inks bleed).

      • I agrees. High DPI if use a photo paper for photo printing which can not be done by a laser printer.

    • Lasers can't print photos on photo paper. This can.

  • Great price!! I’m getting one. Thanks

    • no automatic double sided printing

  • Can it do double sided scanning? Thanks

    • no

Note this model DOES NOT do automatic double sided printing.

That is a deal breaker for me.

    • I am still sticking with WF3540 for automatic double sided printing and scanning.
Tried the offmarket ink tanks (external) which was a nuisance.

    • These are the worst.
So expensive for an inkjet and doesn't do a basic function.

        So expensive for an inkjet

Mine does double sided printing and the printer paid for itself in less than 2 years in ink saving costs.

        • Yeah if this was double sided print and scan. It would no doubt be worth it. But as it is. I can not see the appeal

          • +1

@maverickjohn: I don't think any of the ecotanks do double sided scan.

My older epson inkjet did, and whilst it was good to have, it's not really a deal breaker as I can do it manually and rarely need it. Double sided printing though is what I do by default…

  • IMHO ET-5150 was a much better deal a few days ago(of course that deal has expired, but maybe wait for Black Friday deals around the corner?)

    • That's the one i have now after upgrading from an ET2750.

      It's a great printer…
