EGO LM2136E-SP-2 56V 2x10.0ah 52cm Self-Propelled Mower Combo Kit $1099 + Delivery (RRP $1899) @ Tools Warehouse

690

Seems like it could be a pricing error. Front page ad mentions $1699 as the price with the $99 string trimmer included.

The two batteries alone would be worth $1040 if purchased separately.

A forklift is required at delivery point? WTF? It’s a lawnmower!

    • Terms and conditions no where to be seen!

  • Yeah. Looks like a pricing error… not a bad bundle deal at the $1699 price.

  • +1

Good deal ! Cheap with the cost of 2x 10ah batteries around the grand mark alone!

  • Got one OP …thanks and hope I don't need the Forklift!

    • $250 delivery without the forklift apparently

      • +2

might come on a pallet, easy enough to get off, just order and when they arrive tell ‘em forklift is broken and you will unload manually ….. just need snips to cut any strapping

  • It’s says forklift is required at delivery point. How to manage that?

    • +16

Grab a couple from the cutlery draw?

  • +1

If you buy this with the compatible whippersnipper the bu does price is $1,198 which is also excellent.

  • +8

There’s also a battery redemption offer so you’d get a free 2.5Ah battery with this..

    https://egopowerplus.com.au/redemption

    • Got my free battery today…cheers for that. No mower shipping details yet.

  • +1

Both the mower and the front page deal with the line trimmer are both now showing as sold out. Shame - absolute ball tearer of a deal…

    • +6

      My balls live another day..

    • +5

      This isn't recommended for manscaping

      • "Someone lost a fight with the lawnmower"

  • Sold out. Couldn’t buy one.

  • Damn that shipping was expensive but couldn't resist the offer. Hope it ships

  • Lol I'm not up with all the electric mowers . I have a masport with a Briggs commercial motor. Have you seen these electric provide any benefit over the old school petrol 4 strokes?

    • +5

Quieter, less maintenance, less vibration, sometimes lighter, no petrol fumes/storage/oil leaks.

At this point battery mower may be the better choice for someone with a small lawn.

      • +4

        Yep. And self-propulsion is a game changer…

        • +1

I loved self-propulsion, especially in long straight stretches. It was less use once the lawn became an obstacle course with kids climbing frames, trampoline, a couple of trees etc.

        • +2

What do you mean? Self-propelled petrol mowers have been around for a long time, I've got a relatively cheap one thats 12+ years old and still humming away.

      • +2

Does it cut buffalo on a hilly terrain well.
It's the reason why I went with a stronger petrol motor a couple of years back.
I had a smaller engine petrol which struggled and kept turning off on an uphill cut (the old victa tornado). Hence why I bought the one I did.
Are these good enough that they tackle these situations. I'll consider getting one if it goes back to this price. But don't want to buy if they struggle with thicker hilly lawns.

        • +1

Buffalo grass, especially if the soil isnt that hard is a pain to mow once the grass gets even a week of growth on it. Have a ryobi 36v and its not quite good enough.

          • +1

@tm32: That's where my concern is.. I really don't want to fork out a large amount for it to struggle or unable to mow.
I wish there was a try before you buy demo

        • Use mine with buffalo and up a slope no problems.

      • With dual 10ah batteries, this mower would have been good for a <400m2 lawn. This is/was a killer deal.

      • +3

You don't need something like this for a small lawn. My 36v Ryobi is perfect for this and I have a 700 sqm block. And it is self propelling.

This is more for larger blocks.

        • +3

          I’ve got a 52cm 36v Ryobi and this 52cm LM2135 (same mower but with the 1 x 7.5ah battery).

There is no comparison between the two. The extra torque, propulsion and solid construction of the Ego has relegated the Ryobi to last resort backup.

    • had a honda and also briggs, only about 100m2 to mow, moved to 36v electric, easier to start, no need for petrol in can, down side is my electric doesn’t mulch so need to use catcher. depends on the size of your lawn , the petrol mowers were relic when i had 500m2 of lawn. i have the ozito metal deck 36v brushless.

    • The Masport with built-in battery is heaps easier than swapping out batteries.

    • +2

I use these and they are good. Just hold on to your receipt as the batteries stuff up all the time. They also have been common faults with them. With 2 10 amp batteries you'll be able to do about 5 average homes front and back

  • +3

Seems like it could be a pricing error.

i think the RRP of $1,899 for a lawn mower must be a price error

  • Wow that's a good deal

  • +2

Going to need a forklift with the amount I bought!

    • +1

      Do you even forklift?

    • You'll be able to mow your lawn in record time with those 10 units!!

  • +1

The line trimmer combo is poor. They line trimmer has no powerload I suggest to avoid. This was a great deal though. (I own an ego mower and line trimmer)

  • Ripper deal GL to those that ordered.

Suddenly all the ego battery hate on here has vanished lol.

    • I still do 😂 good deal, only if your batteries die within warranty

    • Oh it's still here. Their batteries are garbage. Just had my 5th play up on me today. Another warranty claim. 5th in 2 years

  • Damn, missed the boat. I have used EGO for some time - snipper first then non SP mower. Swear by them. Best batteries.

  • If you are into your lawn look elsewhere. Great mowers for those who just want to cut grass, pretty average otherwise

    • +2

      Please explain

      • +1

        He's old

        • No and i have 2 of them. Fell for the select cut lie. Hey its an ok mower dont get me wrong but it should be so much better.

      • +4

The batteries are garbage. You WILL 100% need to buy new ones at the end of warranty as they will even stuff up during the warranty. The mowers have common electrical issues with the cabling and parts of the control unit so don't expect it to last much past the 5 years. You can buy replacement parts and you can get it repaired but don't be surprised if it stuffs up on you. Ego are a Chinese brand with a Gucci belt on. I know because I have most of their products. I have gone through 3 blowers in 6 months, all faulty. A faulty mower and 5 faulty batteries in 2 years. They are ok but ang on to your receipt, you will need it

      • Really poor cut heights. High higher then 4 paddock settings. If you have couch or a bent grass don't bother..select cut isnt an improvement over the old single blade (i have both) really long wheelbase of the self propelled versions leads to poor cut on uneven lawns. I could go on. If you buy one the secret is to purlt a bag of sand on the front. Improves the cut out of sight.

        • Thanks for the explainer.

Sorry do what with bag of sand? load it onto the front to weight it down?

          • @andresampras: Yes. Its a light mower which is good and bad. The bag of sand weighs it down and gives a better cut. This probably gives you an extra 2 days between cuts as the lawn is more even.

Batteries are sh't though. I got 2x 7.5 and 1x 2.5 as I bought the whole she bang. Used each battery in turns and both the 7.5's had issues right after the 3 year warranty period, where they don't give a 💩 after they see that. If I used each battery one at a time, it would both have been within the warranty period as they had probably around 15 cycles. Mower also shorted out but that was within warranty period but I had to take it to 30km away to a workshop.

Lots of issues with batteries posted online, and these are expensive to replace. After the experience, I would have gotten a different brand

My Aldi batteries are 6 years old, used to death and they still perform just as new. Here is the secret,

      1. Get a small desktop fan to cool battery when charging.

      2. Always charge max to 90%, disconnect, let it further cool for 10 mins (with fan on) before use.

      3. After use, put it back on the bench with the cooling fan, cool it for 10 mins.

      4. Then charge it to 60% for storage.

      Battery will last forever.

      • You dreaming?

  • Lowest hight of cut is 25mm. That's too high

    • Yep totally agree. I have the model up from this one. If it could have gone down just 1 more notch it would have been the perfect mower.

    • Absolutely. It is useless for fine couch or bentgrass. Shortest is too tall and anything higher is for mowing paddocks.

  • -8

I have a similar performing model I bought at Aldi for $300 on special. It uses 2 x 5.0Ah batteries. Good mower.

  • +1

I agree with battery problems all mine have failed and been replaced within 3 years.

    • Haven't had an issue with my battery (2 years in) but the lawn mower was back under warranty twice in the first year

    • I have 4 and 5ah batteries and a mower bought from Masters back in the day… they only showing signs of age now. That's 7-8 years of use mate… I guess maybe the quality is not the same anymore?!

      • +1

Yup me too is crazy every time I read people saying ego batteries are poor.

My only 2 ego batteries lasted since 2016 purchased and going strong while my ryobi battery all kaput already.

        • +1

I think the older ones are OK, but I got mine end of 2018 and both crap. A lot of complaints on reddit for the batteries in that period. I argued that it was clearly something wrong with the manufacturing during the time given the amount of complaints and how they tout their batteries are so "premium" but they couldn't care less

      • +1

I have 2 batteries, 1 is the old 5AH (when the power indicator was just one circle LED) this is about 6 years old. I then have a newer 2.5AH which is 3 and a bit years old.
The 5AH is still going, I have had the odd hiccup with it (eg you put it on charger, come back later and the charger has stopped and showing full, then you go to use it and the battery is giving red flat battery indicators from little use, put it back on charger and it seems to take the full 40 mins and work).
The 2.5AH I would have made a warranty claim but it was a gift so I never had the receipt. After about 18 months it would only charge to 25% and then stop, giving it a bang as some suggested did actually revive it for a bit but that seemed to have diminishing returns, and now its just a dead battery that won't even charge to 25%.

Love EGO gear but pretty put off by the batteries before I invest more in the ecosystem.

  • +9

I found a good forklift deal, but it says it needs a lawnmower at point of delivery… bit of a chicken and egg situation 😬

  • +1

My batteries with the 58V AEG are trash too. Bought a replacement from bunnings, refuses to charge right out of box….

  • +1

Bought this instore today, they had 1 item only. Might want to try calling them for instore stock.

    • Nice work! Which store?

      • +1

        Mcgrath Hills NSW

        • Guessing it was their last one that you bought. That's my local store as well. I just wish I could try before I buy. I'm reluctant to spend knowing how tough my grass is.

        • I was considering going yesterday :(

  • I’ve kind of changed my mind on this for my use case, but good luck getting in contact with these guys about your order

  • +1

There’s one back in stock guys

    • D’oh! Got it in the cart but by the time I processed payment it was gone.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully a few more surface over coming days…

I requested total tools to price match. They replied it wasn't in stock. I showed it was showing in stock in 2 locations. They replied "Please be advised stock will need to be available on the competitor's website and checkout is possible for the customer."
TT making up conditions to dodge price match.

Now the deal is over on tools warehouse..lame.

    • To be fair everyone that price matches has that policy, some sites leave up old sold out deals for months/years. Why price matches something that is not possible to obtain?

  • Anyone selling Adelaide?

  • Any difference between this and the LM2156?
