Unless you're juicing a lot and have the time to wash this out after each use, it will be one of those items that are used a couple of times out of excitement but will leave you quickly annoyed from having to wash it out and will end up collecting dust. That's been my experience with the Breville juicer.

100%, had one, used one, stored one, gave one away. There's so many parts and every one of them needs a good clean after using.

    • +4

Quick scrub with the brush then the mesh part goes into the dishwasher.

There's quite a few things to wash but it's only annoying if it annoys you.

    • +1, I had one and it was a PITA to clean and store. Ended up putting it in a donations bin after it sat in a cupboard for a year.

    • Couldn’t agree more I am guilty of this

    • I made the stupid mistake of buying one of these..
It's literally cheaper to buy orange juice than to cut and juice the oranges. You lose a lot of weight in the skin.

Has to be the 2nd most stupid appliance for the kitchen. A food processor is also up there.

      • You can juice other things.

do they have robot juicer with self empty station🤔

    • +1

take my money and sign me up..Would be good if the juicer dries itself too and stack the components in the drawer. LOL

      • Not happening ever. Buy a robot!! For 15-25k you might get that

    Get a NutriBullet

    • +2

I second that. Make juice with pulp which is much better (nutrition, cleaning) than this..

The cost of ingredients plus the amount of time to disassemble, wash & clean means it ultimately was more hassle than it was worth.

    Buy juice in the supermarket.

    • +1

Ingredients are free, just collect from the rubbish bins because that's what goes into bottled fruit juice.

      • -1

It does not. Fruit goes into fruit juice. It might not be your typical size based symmetry perfect looking fruit/veg coles, woolies, iga stock but it's still good fruit/veg.

There are hundreds of these on facebook market place for next to nothing. I bought one for $20, used it a few times, and it has been sitting in my storage room for the last 8 years

  • Just get a long arm press. You’re limited to orange juice but so much more usable.

I used one of these for 6x months religiously straight back in 2009 everyday. You must clean SSteel mesh basket and components straight after use. I used carrots, ginger, apple, celery, pineapple, pear, orange, beetroot, etc. Felt fantastic, but I also made smoothies almost every day too back then with frozen berries, mango, banana, etc, ice cream, yoghurt. - best was creative gourmet berries that had high orac value.

Would I do it again - Nah, 2x a week good enough but there are other blenders/devices easier to clean.

I used to make juice all the time. Then I switched to coffee. I actually feel healthier drinking coffee. With juice you’re drowning your digestive system in sugars unless you juice low-sugar veges only. I decided to just eat fruit rather than juice it. Tastes better, and easier to prepare, and you don’t need huge quantities of it. You also waste most of the fibrous materials in the fruit/veges when you make juice. The fibrous material is useless on its own. I used it to make a cake one day, and it was disgusting.

  • looking for a food processor

  • if you're serious about juicing, pay $400-$500 for something better that extracting by compressing the fruit, you'll get much better yield and other stuff out of the fruit, macerating and centrifugation is only good for certain fruit like orange, other hardy stuff like carrot or celery it will leave a lot behind.
