Great price for a great lock. Retails for around $150. Perfect for anyone who took advantage of the QLD E-Vehicle rebate scheme and haven't gotten a lock yet. Comparable to this deal except the lock is much longer (2 inches) and doesn't come with the kryptoflex cable.

It should have pretty good resistance against most things except the pick LPL and Bosnian bill made.

I personally picked up a Master Lock 8279EURDPRO for around this price, hasn't come yet but looks good at 14mm and similar weight to this one. I think these two are the best options at this price point.

As previously mentioned, the anti-theft protection that Kryptonite offers is not in Australia unfortunately.

  The main problem is it uses a key ..

  PIN code is better to save you carrying keys around

    In my experience PIN code heavy duty bike locks are extremely rare, and disk detainer locks (with keys) are the gold standard because of their pick resistance and general heavy-duty-ness. Anything mainstream you could find with a PIN would be gone through in about 0.1 seconds with bolt cutters.

    Unless you are in the same neighbourhood as LPL and have angered him somehow, a U-Lock or heavy integrated chain lock would be necessary and sufficient for locking up anything of actual value.

  Just an FYI about locks. Make sure you google the type you want with the term "locking lawyer"
  He rates a very similar masterlock as average, which for him is not too bad.

    Takes him ~45 seconds in a lab environment with specialist tool and extensive experience, I'd rate that as excellent. Let's see him do it on the street in dark bent over at a funny angle to get to the barrel while tweaked out on a 3 day meth bender.
