To clarify (given it seems some people are still having issues), I've booked karaoke and escape rooms at Strike successfully. Just tried out of curiosity and have no trouble also booking bowling. Can't speak for other venues such as Holey Moley or the arcade ones.

Not sure why I'd cop a downvote for volunteering additional information. I booked a few things from 6pm at Darling Harbour, then also tested if it worked at Entertainment Quarter when others were having trouble, which it did for bowling and karaoke.

Couldn't get anything working in Melbourne despite numerous attempts.
@arcticmonkey: No worries, didn't say you did but I got one from someone. Hopefully it is fixed ASAP for Melbourne or anywhere else it isn't working. Definitely poorly executed from their part, it was advertised in numerous places as available for pre-booking from the beginning of October.

Yes. I emailed Funlab and they said that the $8 1 hour arcade has to be ordered in person at the venue.

On the day: Only available to purchase in person on the 22nd of October.
Bookings are not required and the offer is available all day.
