They should have went the Nest route and put alexa in the units themselves. Id buy that.

It is finally active. I have this set up at home with echo dots working as satellites. Very handy

  • Are these Eero a food system?

I’m wanting to upgrade our wifi to mesh so I’m looking for a system but not sure if I should get 6 or 7, dual or tri

Don’t wanna spend heaps just great bang for buck that will last me awhile

    • I was running an Older Orbi system which started having major drop out issues… Large house with lots of kids & devices here…

During the Amazon Prime day the Eero 6+ 3 pack was on sale for $535… Only needed to setup 2 of these for our house (1000/40 ABB) & coverage has been amazing without not one dropout since… I am by no means an expert in this field but just from my own obsevations of using mine I would highly recommend these… If you could wait in 4-5 weeks Black Friday sales will start & you maybe able to get a bargain like I did…

      • Yer I’m happy to wait for a better sale or deal

Is yours dual band and would it be best to get Tri band?

        • -1

          These are Tri-band

            @ThePunchingBag: Eero6+ is dual band

            • @Punkboy: Sorry just checked I got the Eero 6 Pro not the 6+… DOH

              • @ThePunchingBag: So go Dual or Tri. I’m guessing Tri is better but is it worth the $$

                • +1

@Twisty: It depends. If you are connecting the mesh nodes together with wire, dual is probably fine. If you are connecting them together wirelessly then tri band is better as there is an extra band that won't need to be shared between your clients and mesh nodes. But it all depends on how you use your home network.

                  • @Punkboy: I have Ethernet ports around the house

                    • @Twisty: Mine is connected via WIFI but runs our house without issue… Again I got the Eero 6 Pro not the 6+… Sorry

@ThePunchingBag: All good I appreciate your replies

Just not up to date with the wifi stuff so I wanna get some great bang for buck that will last me awhile

Annoying thing about eero is that it thinks it can dynamically switch between 2.4ghz and 5ghz in a way that is useful. It can't. The microwave disrupting 2.4 does not instigate it to change to 5ghz. And there is only an option to temporarily force it to one frequency. I'm going back to a traditional single router when I next have to replace.

  • Do they support ppoe ? I heard they don’t work with exetel.

  • Aren't the dots limited to 100mbps?

I’d rather not pay to be spied on

Blink twice if there’s someone who’s forcing you to buy them.

True. It’s never not a choice to be a disempowered loser.
