do these have the coating on them that is really gross and makes kids spit them out?

I read that coating can interfere with devices, unsure if true

    • Nice! Now I can have ALL the batteries!

      what's the problem with PRC?

      • +1

They give us good money but our 'friends' told us PRC are our enemy

      It matters how?

Not cr2032 (H) High density . maxells made in japan

      • My bad someone just updated to 10x

  • From singapore

  • Not cr2032 (H) High density . maxells made in japan

Legit Maxell? One of the biggest concern when buying on eBay.

      • +2

Bought from the same seller previously (their own website instead of eBay though) and batteries are indeed run noticeably longer on Zigbee and BLE sensors than my Panasonic batteries (genuine).

        • +4

ive imported the panasonics and energizers before but the Maxells (H) high density has additional 220mah in the cells

          • +2

@iwantabargain1: eh? Isn't 220mAh the normal spec for 2032? (not counting Chinese fakes)
So are you saying these are double that??

      • Yes I will add the packing of product on ebay

  • what is the expiry date?

    • +11

      production date : 2024 Expiry date: 2034

  • These are good for AirTags I assume? I fell foul of the Duracell issue after buying a bulk load!

    • +1

yes will work perfectly with airtags

    • +3

Duracell CR2032 had issues with AirTag due to their bitter coating.

Can usually be resolved by using an alcohol wipe to get rid of the coating.

Some Duracell now has 'Compatible with Apple AirTag' printed on the packet.

      • +3

My biggest issue with some of these Duracell CR2032 is that it's very hard to remove the plastic part of the individual battery packaging even with a scissor. I have to use side cutters to cut it off.

        • +5

It's due to Australian laws that requires coin battery to be sealed in child-resistant packaging.

          https://www.productsafety.gov.au/business/search-mandatory-s…

          • @RichardL: I was aware of the reasoning. But I feel it's a little too much. It's hard to use a scissor to open it. It's dangerous to damage the battery trying to open the packaging. Besides a kid is actually more likely to try to swollow the battery with the smaller blister pack since only the battery has the bitterent.

        • Well, these Maxell cells are even harder to remove from the packaging. Cells are sandwiched between two layers of sealed plastics.

          • +3

@xmagic: In next law they may need to be sealed with triple layers, then we will need an angle grinder to remove them from the package…

How to tell legit Maxell to copies?

      • Thanks for the info. I wasn't planning to get any because the 'pink' ones I bought from amazon runs out super quick. Was going to stay away from Maxell.

I go through stacks of these and over the last few years I went through about 30 odd CR2032 (H)'s and TBH I didn't get any noticable more runtime over the Panasonic CR2032's I was getting from AliExpress. I was paying about $12-$15 for 10x cells, and I just ordered 50x Panasonic CR2032 from AliExpress for about $26. They both claim about 200-230mAh. I'm sure the Maxell's are better but for my use-case I was still swapping them every nine months, so I didn't see much of a difference, and I got the logs to prove it.

The Panasonic's that I just ordered have till 06-2034 so probably 10 years from DOM. 50x may last me 4 years so this saves me quite a bit of money.

FYI, I use them in various Zigbee sensors.

    • +2

Do you have the aliexpress links where you've bought from? eBay sellers have sold me fake Panasonics in the past :(

    • keen on the aliexpress link to your purchase too.
I go through a lot of airtags and other devices in the house.

      • +2

Let me try again, this time I won't just copy the link from the app.

        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006736111765.html

As I was saying before, I've only tried one cell if this batch so I don't really know if I'm going to get the same run time as my previous batches. They look pretty legit IRL. If you really want I can compare the weight on my 0.0x g scales…. Actually I might do that.

        • Panasonic from the AE link above. 2.84g
          Maxell from the OP/Seller: 3.07g

Strong case for the Maxell being better if you assume that capacity is somehow related to weight (it generally is in the Li-ion world). Let's see what the logs say in ~9 months.

  • +1

Wait for few weeks, then you will see cheaper deal than this. I bought 10 * the same batteries with 11.99 in Amazon 2 month ago.

    • +6

yes, wait weeks for the chance to save $0.72 cents

      • 72c > 50c

    • Yes this is OzBargain but paying 72c more now is worth it rather than waiting a few weeks for a cheaper deal that may never happen

      • People like to feel like they are getting the best deal, so it may be for someone.

    • +1

Plus shipping…….not everyone pays for Amazon membership. Ebay includes free delivery in the price. :-)

  • Thanks op, ordered 1 pack.

  • Bought 3 packs, thanks

  • Great, perfect for AirTags

  • +2

Kmart 4 for $5 everyday… is Maxell better?

  • Thanks OP.

Always need them for car remotes and kids watches.

  • OzBargained - all links OOS

  • Post needs to updated to expired - all Out of Stock

  • Your reviews don't look very good.

  • +3

I've bought many sizes from Jeremy and found the Maxells sustain higher voltage under load than most others, so you can use more of its available capacity. I've had many brands stop working in devices but still have plenty of energy left

  • thanks! I got some SR44 too.
with the current sale they come out cheaper than LR44 from Bunnings aso

  • +1
