Bought Cotton On $50 GC for $37.50
    Thanks OP..👍

  • +1

thanks. Bought Cotton On $50 GC

    • Did they track the $5?
The T&C says 'Cashrewards Gift Cards', not sure if it means the CR Liquor Gift Card, CR Tradies & DIY Gift Card, CR Pet & Vet, CR Fuel & Auto?

      • The $5 Bonus appears separately to the tracking, when you click the activate button before purchasing.
So $5 + standard cashback rate.

        I just purchased a $50 Amazon then:
It shows as $1 tracked, along with a separate 5 bonus.

      • +3

The terms and conditions actually say:

purchase a gift card from Cashrewards Gift Cards store

That means if you purchase any gift card with minimum $50 face value from the Cashrewards gift card store, you will earn $5 bonus cashback.

The terms and conditions do not say you can only purchase Cashrewards Gift Cards.

      • +2

Anything from CR Gift Card store should be fine (I bought 7 Eleven fuel card, already approved)

  • +4

Anyone know if there is any Gift Cards have eBay? Thanks

    • +5

None that I can see. Sorry 2 users had to neg you, rather than help. Amazon is probably the best option :)

  • Can purchase 7-11 giftcard?

    • Yes

    • Can that be used at any fuel station as I have heard before?

  • +7

    Cheers OP. Bought Amazon.

    • +2

      Same, no brainer. Thanks Op.

  • +6

No gift cards for Coles or Woolworths?

    • +4

I was looking for same but then had to settle for Amazon.

  • +2

Website seems to be asking for full residential address details, is that new? And its making me save my payment method to the website? Seems pretty invasive.

    • +2

I also noticed that, definitely a new "feature" was never asked in the past when purchasing gift cards

      • +3

Would there be any issue if i provide a fake address? Don't really know why they need this info if it is a digital purchase

    • +4

yeah noticed that extra step in the CR app, pretty unnecceary and they'd have your details already I would have thought for payments & cash outs. Will get the last priority in the cashback apps now.

It's probably just in case something happens to the gift card, some details doesn't hurt (in case of hacking and delivery of physical gift cards) so don't think it's sinister really.

    • +5

Also keep in mind, even after you delete the card from your CR profile, the card details (in tokenised form) is still held onto on the EoX platform.

      • $5 is a cheap way to get personal details…with consent !

      • Good time to be using a virtual card from Revolut or similar

        • +1

Yes. However, only non-disposable virtual cards can be used.

  • +1

    Cheers OP! 🍺

Is there anyone able to login to CR on Firefox?
It says wrong email or pw but I can login on Chrome with the exact same details…

    • +1

No problem for me using latest Firefox release for Windows.
Sorry, I was wrong about that, as I was already logged in from an earlier day. I just tried logging out and back in again, and I also cannot login from Firefox but I can from Chrome.

      • Thanks, good to know it isn't my issue.

        • Same here… both in default and incognito mode.

    • Had issues yesterday and today. Once I turned off content blockers it logged in fine.

      • I fiddled with my settings, including:

        • Running in a private window.
        • Adding an exception for cashrewards.com.au in Enhanced Tracking Protection.
        • Unticking Block dangerous and deceptive content.
        • Removing cookies & site data for cashrewards.com.au.

Nothing seemed to work, until I tried again in a non-private window and then it worked. Now I've put everything back to normal and I can't get login to fail again, so I don't know what did it.

  • ah the CR add new payment method dance .. curse you Latitude & you're fees.

    • I kept mine right up until the day they were going to start charging the fee - with the intention to cancel at that time.
I got a text and email notifying me how they valued my loyalty and are waiving the fee for the first 12 months! 😊 At least put off that hassle for a while…

      • +1

nice.. I'm sure someone at Latitude got a nice bonus for dreaming up the annual fee idea. then their mates in the New Customer marketing area will get big bonuses luring customers back.

    • What's the deal got to do with latitude?

      • -1

it was my payment card for CB/SB it's a PITA adding a new card to CR as you need to wait for the "verification amount" to show up on your cards, which takes a day or three.

What's the deal got to do with latitude?

        means I'm missing out.

        • Oh, mine was there instantly, maybe have another look. Still seems like an unnecessary security step I guess.

  • Thanks OP

  • Getting “Failed to load data” error

  • +2

Weird, 5 mins ago promo opened up for me and I could activate - but now I'm getting a blank screen on the link (with just "Questions? We’re here to help!" on it) when I go to purchase GC - anyone else?

    • Same! I get this when I click through the link from the email.

And when I try to click on the link directly from the app, I get the “failed to load data” error.

      • +3

Bugger - seemed likes it's Crashrewarded

    • Yeah. Not even loading for me now

  • Can't see this offer on my CR App??

  • +1

Make sure the bonus is added in pending status(normally that's how CR works) before you transact as I have same issue as @bdl and if I go ahead highly unlikely I would be getting cashback.Could be temporary or already ozbargained…

    • thanks for the reminder, I just checked my pending cashback and can see the $5. Forgot that's how CR did it. Was going to make the purchase but looking at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15741522/redir - looks like maybe one of the GC backends has fallen over/been ozbargained. Will try again later today.

      • Can confirm all working again, thanks everyone for testing :)

  • +2

Page is blank for me - ozbargained!

  • +1

    Failed to load data
    Retry

    • Same, but activated on desktop
edit: activate button still on homepage but doesn't appear to have registered

  • Has now appeared on App…but won't load..Retry…

  • Looks like CR having issues, can't process a withdrawal at the moment either….just hangs…

    • Withdrawal worked for me 5 mins ago

  • Does fuel and auto gift card work at APCO petrol stations?

    • That doesn't have a $50 denomination so not worth it

  • Activated promo, and proceed with Amazon GC purchase…
Keep getting this error "centinelapi.cardinalcommerce.com took too long to respond"

  • +4

    How has this expired already?

  • Just goes to a Q&A page…

  • Received email just after 8am, says valid all day, link doesn’t work.

    • +2

      Fixed now FYI.

      • -2

        Thanks!

        • @GimmeCashback/ Hamza I just logged back in to OzB, what was the issue? Good to hear its fixed nonetheless, I just purchased an Amazon Card.

          • +1

@OutOfTime: Email link went to a blank page, not the activation page. Deal was then marked as expired which is why I neg'd (for CR, not poster).

            • +1

@GimmeCashback: Thanks mate, all good. Seems like we ozbargained Cashrewards lol
Hope you get your cashback :)

    Link is working now

  • Page worked for me just now, bonus pending

  • +1

Is it just me or does their app seem like its using diall up internet behind the scenes? Clicks take multiple seconds to register. Every other app on my phone is fine….

    • Everything's a bit slow on their site this morning

      • +1

not just today -its sucked for a while

    • +1

Agree, it feels really heavy to use. Like 3 seconds before it registers a click to Gift cards page.

Using a Pixel 8 Pro, so that shouldn't be the factor

  • +1

    Link is working again!

  • Back working for me.

What happened to fuel auto in $50 denom?

    • +1

You can get the 7-11 for $50 and it works pretty much the same.

      • +3

        Sort of.

If the comment was only wanting to purchase fuel from a service station, yes, it works pretty much the same. However, if the commenter was wanting to purchase an item from an automotive parts store (e.g. Repco, Autobarn, Supercheap Auto), a Cashrewards Fuel & Auto gift card would work fine (because the relevant MCC is whitelisted on that gift card), but a 7-Eleven digital gift card should fail (because the relevant MCC is not whitelisted on that gift card).

        • +1

Wookie so the 711 gift card can be used at all petrol stations for fuel?

          • +1
            • @WookieMonster: Ok thx. I bought ampol $50 but next time I might try 711 so I can use it anywhere else too (albeit ampol hit and miss, I prefer EG station anyway)

              • @kickling: Are you saying there is an issue with using an AmpolCash Digital gift card at EG Ampol?

The only issue I can think of is that you cannot use an AmpolCash Digital gift card (or AmpolCash physical gift card, or any EG / Everyday WISH / Essentials gift cards) when paying via Pay At Pump on the EG Club app.

                • @WookieMonster: No I'm saying I bought ampol $50 without knowing 711 could be used at multi petrol brands, so next time I will buy a 711 instead.

I thought the EG stations are caltex not ampol?

                  • @kickling: Ahhh right.

EG service stations are operated by EG Australia, and they sell Ampol fuel. (In other words, EG Australia is an Ampol franchisee.)

EG service stations previously used the Caltex brand, but that was back when Ampol had the right to use the Caltex brand in Australia. All EG service stations replaced the Caltex brand with the Ampol brand in 2022.

                • -1

@WookieMonster: Not sure if they are all the same but my local EG has signs everywhere saying they don't accept AmpolCash

                  • +1

                    @bamzero: Really?

AmpolCash physical gift cards (and previously, StarCash physical gift cards) have been accepted at EG service stations and its predecessors (i.e. Woolworths Petrol, Caltex Woolworths) for at least 15 years.

AmpolCash Digital gift cards only started being accepted as a payment method at EG in February 2024. When I contacted the AmpolCash team at the time, they told me this change was across all EG service stations.

I also just had a quick look at the Ampol store locator, and all EG service stations are listed as accepting AmpolCash Digital.

Have you tried to use an AmpolCash Digital gift card at your local EG?

                    • @WookieMonster: I'll have to take note next time I'm there, maybe it's some other variant of Ampol card (business fuel card or something?) but I'm pretty sure it was Ampolsomething.

I've never tried using, normally just use Wish cards.

            • @WookieMonster: According to that table it is not accepted in person at Ampol. How come anyone deny a visa card?

              • @sub102: Someone reached out to me saying that they tried to redeem their 7-Eleven digital gift card at an Ampol Foodary in Sydney to pay for fuel, but the EFTPOS terminal rejected it. The person could not work out whether it was due to:

                • The EFTPOS terminal did not pick up the mobile wallet correctly and returned a "bad tap" error (which has happened to me in the past at Ampol Foodary), or

                • The EFTPOS terminal picked up on the fact that a 7-Eleven digital gift card was being used and chose to reject it.

                • @WookieMonster: Ok so that means eligible MCCs alone is not enough for a transaction to go through

                  • +1

@sub102: Correct. In other words, the 7-Eleven digital gift card works at merchants using the correct MCCs, subject to merchant acceptance.

For example, EG Ampol's checkouts will automatically reject a 7-Eleven digital gift card as a payment method if you are trying to purchase any gift cards, because:

                    • A 7-Eleven digital gift card on a mobile wallet uses the same BIN as some Activ Visa gift cards on a mobile wallet, and

                    • EG Ampol started selling Activ Visa gift card a bit over a year ago, and it looks like they updated their checkouts to automatically reject all types of Activ Visa gift cards as a payment method for any gift cards. (I suspect this is due to EG Ampol enforcing the Activ Visa gift card terms and conditions, i.e. you cannot use Activ Visa gift cards to purchase any gift cards or vouchers.)

You should not have any problems using a 7-Eleven digital gift card to pay for fuel at EG Ampol though.

It also makes me wonder why there have been reports of some Budget Petrol, Metro Petroleum and Medco service stations rejecting 7-Eleven digital gift cards. I wonder whether these service stations were even using the correct type of MCC that should be used for service stations…

Yeah working for me too now.
