All time low. Been monitoring this motherboard for a while, it has been hovering at $390 to $430 average.
Almost a no brainer for anyone interested in building an SFF PC. Best value mini-itx board at the moment for B650 AMD chipset.

Some features this has over competitors:

  1. PCIE gen 5.0 ssd and pcie slot
  2. No daughterboards
  3. Lower CPU cooler height profile (better for cpu cooler compatibility)

Includes 1 month free Adobe suite trail.

Previous owners complain about coil whine and loud VRM fan but I have had no issues so far (manufactured date 02/24).

Update Oct 3: Small price drop from $369.02 to $365.05

  • Great board and great price. Haven't had any issues at all.
Paid over 500 for local stock as couldn't wait for overseas delivery.

    • +1

Same, got lucky and paid $390 over a year ago.

Just update the bios to circumvent the CPU burn issues from about a year ago.

      No issues from me.

      • Wait what? I thought that was only Intel Gen13/14. AMD as well??

        Edit: Looked it up now.

  • Do these boards draw much less power than normal ATX ones? If we're to setup a 24/7 NAS with it, that is.

    • +3

I'm not too sure hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in, but power consumption in motherboards likely has more to do with the chipset. Indirect factors might include a tighter space thus higher fan RPMs which may draw more power but very little. For your intended purpose this motherboard is overkill.

    • +1

      This board for NAS? Why?
      Isn't N100 enough?

    • If the normal ATX board has the exact same features/chips but only has more ports, it should use the exact same power.

    • Your best option for a nas be cwwk H670 or Q670 with intel 12500t (low power)

    • +1

      Motherboard draw is negligable.
For low idle draw just avoid AMD from Zen3/Zen4 onwards due to the 15-25w IO die, way higher idle than intel.

(unless you go with one of the monolithic chips with no seperate IOD, 7700g etc, but then I would avoid those due to no encoder support / bad driver support for NAS usage on the igpu, even Plex dosen't support AMF for transcoding/remapping).

  • Really good price. The only down side for this board is it only has two m2 slots.

I ended with other brand which has 3

    • +4

Excluding all other features, why would you even need a 3rd nvme slot? Surely a 2TB gen4 + 4TB dramless option would be plenty of storage in an itx form?

    • Which brand, @diddz?

      • The only mini-itx B650 board with more than 2x M.2 slots is the Gigabyte B650I Aorus Ultra which has 1x M.2 Gen5.0 and 2x M.2 Gen4.0 slots. Keep in mind that the sata ports need a daughtboard and this doesn't have PCI-E Gen5.0 for the GPU.

        • +1

Yes, but you won't need PCIE5.0 for a GPU in many many years. It's PCIEx16

  • Only 2 sata… bit low

    • +4

It really depends on a persons use case though. I bought this for my wifes gaming PC as she wanted it to be as small as possible. Pretty sure she will never need more storage than the 4TB M2, and if she does, theres still another slot. In a A4-H2O ITX build, the last thing u want is more cables and a sata drive taking up valuable case realestate.

If you are building a NAS or something though, this doesnt seem like an ideal board.

    • +6

Most people building this would probably be aiming for a tiny system. I doubt they would be loading it up with 2.5/3.5" drives. If they are using it as a NAS, this board seems overkill.

  • +1

I would give this a pass purely on the fact that the onboard wifi card sucks. If you don't need wifi then this is fine, but the amount of packet loss and ping spiking I get has pushed me to get data points installed in my home because its frustrating to game on.

    • Shit, I didnt look in to that b4 buying. Figured it would be good as I havent had a single issue with my Asus ROG X570-E onboard wifi. Guess they skimped out on this board :(

Luckilly it wont be far from the router tho, so if i do have issues i can just run a cable…

      • +2

I've been running this board cabled since 2023, and for the last 12 months using WiFi only. I haven't noticed any issues with spikes or packet loss at all, but I'm a trash casual, so there's that. Perhaps obvs, but I'm also using the supplied antenna — if you don't plug that in, it still works… just not really well.

        • +2

good to hear. I will hopefully be fine then seeings it will only be a few meters from the router

      • +2

This is the board I literally had before my upgrade to AM5 so I can vouch that the difference is night and day.

    • +1

I am not sure what Wifi module you have in this. if it is the default Amd MediaTek RZ616 module, then its definitely the diver in Windows. I had an old driver from Windows and from the Asus website which caused frequent dropouts and ping spikes. Updating the driver fixed it for me.
Windows update catalogue has newer drivers. Try updating the driver and test again.

      • +1

Fairly certain i've updated to the latest one but i'll double check again to see if this fixes it.

    • +1

Been running this board since August, no issues with wifi. In fact there's no significant difference between ethernet and wifi download, upload and latency speeds. Only issue is that wifi drivers were not preinstalled alongside windows 11, so I had to use another computer to download the drivers and transfer them via USB.

      • +1

Download speed in Australia is SLOW. Wifi speed matters when you transfer in LAN

    • +1

This is true but it's also true of basically all of the AM5 itx boards, it's all mediatek junk.

Easiest thing to do is just to buy an ax200 or something (about $30-40) and slot it in. I've done it with another motherboard in the past and it worked a treat.

  • +3

Extremely good price for a very good SFF board! Thanks for the share!

  • Cheers OP, just bought one :) Been waiting for a deal on a DDR5 ITX mobo to use on my new build.

  • I'm so torn. The new incoming mobos dont look very impressive over the existing line up and this is a great price. Only worthwhile for me tho if the 9800x3d is great or the 7800x3d falls substantially in price. Currently running a 5600x and 3080 hmmm

    • +2

Even if the new boards are amazing. This is still a good deal vs msrp of b850 boards inflated and those new boards are not going to make or break your build. With 9000x3d coming late next month. Getting this now makes sense.

      • Is it reasonable to expect a noticeable improvement with the 9000x3d vs the 7000x3ds? Given the standard 9000s lacklustre uplift, I'm not certain its worth anticipating the 9800x3d drop?

        • +3

Rumours suggest that they are improving on the design established by the 7000 series x3d. Not just slapping 3D v cache on non-3D chips in the 9000 series, like they did with the 7000 series. With that, we can look for some improvements, such as better heat management and overclocking power. I'm hoping for at least a 20% jump. Jayztwocents recently posted a video on this topic.

          • @Maddsyz27: 20%?? You're gonna be dissapointed

            • @Al Mawsil: Didnt you hear about x3d turbo. Claims 20% for non x3d chips and uo to 35% for x3d chips. I dont expect that to be a blanket case. But its promising

              • @Maddsyz27: honestly just with the way things have been going in the pc world I just lack faith in general lol, I wont believe anything till I see it. Hopefully u r right

  • +4

Cheers OP, bit the bullet :) Been on the fence upgrading my AM4 SFF setup and this price just was enough to nudge me to upgrade again! Now need a good deal to come up for the 7800x3d and some DDR5

  • Great deal on a great board!

  • How does warranty work on products like this that are imported but still subject to global brand warranties? ie. Asus appears to provide 3 year warranties on motherboards regardless of place of purchase?

  • +2

Ordered in plans to build my first SFF. Now to find the rest of psrts to suit the Nr200

  • +1

Someone messed up and I got Wave Cutter bits instead of my motherboard…

    • As in drill bits instead of a motherboard?
