Use the battery in this to trade in for the dual 5.2Ah pack!

Then it's really a $30 discount and a free charger

    • Would that work considering the receipt would specify battery and charger for $19.98

      • +7

It'll work, they just take the traded battery and give you the deal. I traded a dead bosch battery without any question. If they look confused just show them the offer on their website. "Trade any 18v battery".

      • -1

You need a receipt? Most people who still have a receipt floating around would have recently bought it and aren't going to want to swap it over (unless they are gaming the system through arbitration etc)

        • +5

No receipt needed, just an 18v battery from any brand for the redemption

    • How does this work?

    • +6

I still think this is a better deal. Better charger and lighter 4ah battery for $20 less, and no stuffing around.
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-2-x-4-0ah-batterie…

      • +1

What do you mean for $20 less?

Wouldn’t that come down to $50 after you pay $20 for this battery?

        • +2

The trade-in deal is only applicable to the twin 5.2Ah pack

          • @guidedlight: Yep, I understand, that’s why your comment confused me. Surely for $80 less this is a better deal than the one you linked?

            • +1

@Lionheart: it's more about wanting the extra oomph than pure bang for buck Gotta pay a small premium for that.

              • +4

@liam2040: This part has been lost on people and they're just comparing dollars:amphours. I've been running my Dyson off a 4ah battery for a while now but the 5.2 is noticeably better. Lasts a lot longer, and doesn't cut out when I put it to high speed if the battery is on one bar like the 4ah did

It's not just about a slightly higher capacity

                • @AngryAlfred: Still better off with multiple 4ah batteries. The 5.2ah is obese and annoyingly heavy when used on the dyson stick vacs, drills, line trimmers etc

                  • @eggboi: Yeah I've been using 2 and swapping them around for 6 months, trust me, the 5.2 performs noticeably better and is only slightly heavier but I can see how it would be cumbersome for some. For me personally though, I have no regrets

                    • @AngryAlfred: I purchased the advertised Ozito 2 x 4.0Ah batteries and charger pack, a year or two ago when on special, under $100. Quite happy with the 4.0s which I only use in garden tools. (Prefer the light Ozito battery tools due to back injury).

Still have old Ozito batteries (1 x 3.0 and 2 x 2.0s) and two other chargers. I believe the Ozito mowers would prefer
                      the 5.2Ah batteries though.

If anyone has need of an almost dead 2.0 Ozito battery for the redemption deal in Cranbourne drop a line.

                • @AngryAlfred: may I ask how you connect a battery with Dyson, do you need an adapter?

                  • +3

@mducpham: Yeah, check my old comment here for links. Just unscrew the battery and screw the correct adapter in its place

                    • @AngryAlfred: Wow thank you so much for that mate, didnt know it was a thing!

I took in a 10 year old, dead Hitachi 18v. First cashier didn't know what I was talking about, even when I showed them the Bunnings web page, and they sent me to someone else. Second cashier didn't know how to ring it up so sent me to the trade counter. 3 young female staff stood at the end of the counter watching something on their phones, 3 young guys behind the counter chatting. One of the guys came over, I showed him the deal but he looked confused. He rang up the 2 other items I had, took my dead battery and charged me 1c for the 2pack of 5.2ah Ozito batteries. I stood there for a moment looking at my receipt and he walked back to his conversation.
I figured if they didn't care then why should I.

  • sfa stock in urban areas

    heaps of stock in regional

  • What is the RRP

    • +3

It was ($24.98) in the title but mods are too cool.

      • This one looks like a promo kit. PXBC-25B instead of PXBC-250C

      • +1

The actual price is around $23. Bunnings offers two ranges of the exact same product: the Black Series (this one) and the Red Series that you shared above. To be honest, there are no differences between them apart from the color.

  • +2

I have a few of these but grabbed another two. Great deal!

Now I just need to get around to making an adaptor that allows me to run two in parallel for a DIY 5Ah battery :P

  • no stock in sydney

    • Try your luck with a click and collect from Warringah Mall.

  • Is this charger compatible with a makita battery?

    • No

  • I have an Ozito hedge trimmer that requires 2 batteries. I had 2x 4Ah but the 1 is gone after moving. Can I get this to run with the one 4Ah I have? Would think it will work fine, just don't run that long which is fine. Don't use it often.

    • +1

      Sure can

      • Awesome, thanks. Now I can use it again haha. Thanks OP

        • It's generally a really bad idea to use imbalanced batteries like this. Sure, they're both 18/20v rated but the lower capacity means you'll put the smaller battery under significantly more strain - to the point it may cutoff in use.

If it's super light loads for really short periods it'll function, but I wouldn't recommend it.

        • +2

the issue comes from the potential power draw of the tool you are using them with.

          2.5ah battery power = 720w
          4ah battery power = 900w
          5.2ah battery power = 1260w

if your tool draws less than 720w x 2 (as you're using 2 batteries) then using different batteries of different capacities shouldnt be an issue except that the smaller battery will run down faster.

if your tool draws more power than can be supplied by the smaller of the batteries then either the tool will run at a slower speed as it will be limited in the current draw or it might cut out depending on the tool. either case there isn't any catastrophic problem but running down any battery to empty isn't good for long battery life of lithium cells.

    • Why don't you trade in your battery for $50 off a 5.2a twin pack?

      Makes more sense

      • +1

Because thats still $150 I have to pay for using the trimmer like twice a year. Doesn't justify the cost.

        • Would think the 2 x 4.0Ah batteries with multi charger a better deal at $99.98 actually.

Have had an Ozito hedge trimmer ($89 skin only) for many years, which gets a fair amount of use, but only uses one battery at a time. Pretty hardy and uses any of the batteries in the Ozito PXC range.

  • No delivery to SA? Won’t let me..

    • +1

Selected Murray Bridge store and placed the order for Delivery to Adelaide.

      • Do you mean you paid for delivery?

        • I have onepass. Got that for like $12 for 1 year in last offer.

      • Champ. Thanks

  • +4

What a waste of chargers. I have about 3 now, I only need the battery. Surely they can sell it for a few dollars cheaper without the charger

    • Probably cost them $4 to make and sell (the charger).

I am in the same bucket - 1 dual quick charger, and 3 of those little rubbish chargers.

    • +1

Same here.. too many chargers already.
I would have went for this if it was just the battery, even for the same price. Feel like this really is a lot of wastage similar to buying a printer with cartridge and throwing it away to buy another one instead of replacing ink cartridges

      • +1

At this price though? They're charging $40 for a 2.0Ah battery on its own, no brainier really especially if you need more batteries.

      • Yup I would have went the battery alone as well at the same price.

The cartridges that comes with printers are usually half fill cartridges though, so not as good a comparison.

    • +1

For what it's worth, you'll probably have a charger go on you before a battery dies these days

      • That's been my thought but I have 3 chargers now lol. Was surprised to see a guy purchasing a charger in Bunnings once though. Only one 2.0Ah battery is failing me now, leaving me a 2.0, 3.0 and 2 x 4.0Ah batteries. The dual charger that came with the 2 x 4.0Ah batteries is by far the best.

  • Can't find any stock in Sydney apart from Warringah Mall. But not available for click and collect. Showing only in store and probably they haven't updated their stick levels.

  • No stock

  • Got my eye on the big 4 banger charger. Havent seen any good prices yet.

  • Anyone in Brisbane have a fast charger they don't need? Mine's died and I'm stuck with the super slow one.

    • ….I'm not asking for a freebie :\

      • -2

You could just go Bunnings to buy one

No one is gonna give you a deal here

      • +3

I bought a battery to chuck the cells. I live in the Sunshine coast but I'm in the Gold coast today.

Message me your address and I'll leave the charger on my way back home

        • -1

Love your work mate - you're the exact kind of person I was hunting for.

  • Bought an paid last night using onepass; refunded this morning due to lack of stock.

    • Same happened to me.

  • Page Not Found

    • still works for me

  • +1

thanks, ordered with onepass and current status is : Dispatched

    • +1

Ordered this morning about 5am and just got a link with tracking from "Zoom2u" and it's a couple streets away!

  • Are 2 of this better (run longer) than 1 single 4.0ah battery that cost $48 ? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-black-series-4-0ah…

    • +2

If weight isn't an issue, i'd go the single 4.0aH. Lower aH batteries tend to cut out at high load

      • Noted with thanks. It just seems cheaper and higher Ah combined.

  • I think it's out of stock now …

    • Still plenty of stock in certain locations.

      https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0501102

      • +1

Correct, however unless you're in that area, you can't order online.

I even tried to 'trick' the system by selecting a store that had stock, and then trying to deliver to my house - but the cancellation text came from the store near me.

        • I tried the same (ordering from in stock stores) and got cancelation from the actual store the first time (claiming they can't post batteries) and then cancelation from a local store (out of stock) the second time I tried.

I think they just don't want to post things longer distances. (I am using OnePass so free delivery).

          • @Prong: Did the same. Got posted abiut from 15km away just got an sms stating the guy will be delivering it today

  • +1

For those that couldn't find stock in Sydney and Melbourne, it looks like Chatswood, Mittagong, Hawthorn and Oakleigh got a decent quantity in. Also plenty of stock in SE QLD.

    • Almost dead Ozito battery for the deal if anyone wants it. Cranbourne, Vic though (can leave on doorstep if interested). There are a few Bunnings hereabouts but not sure if they have stock.

  • Got 2 delivered.
Now need to find a Ozito to Dyson V7/V8 adaptor :/

  • Great deal, my 3.5Ah just died so I picked up 3 of these. The staff said it was exactly the same as the regular price 2.5Ah kit.

  • +1

Stock is back almost at all locations!

  • Hate to ask but -
does this mean we won't see many decent Ozito tools promotions because the company doesn't make money from the $19.98 batteries?

  • Doubt it. This in itself, along with the recent 2 x 5.2Ah 18v battery trade-in promo, is a marketing promotion to get more people into the ecosystem. They don't have anything close to the Ryobi following so likely have every hope to try to obtain that type of customer base. This is why they continue to sell the same 2.5Ah battery kit for $69, positioned more prominently than the $19.98 promo, preying on the unaware seeking higher margin on the same product.

I'd be dumbfounded if they suddenly stopped offering seasonal promotions, keep an eye out for clearance of these products and you'll do well. Then there's also the competitive promos.

  • Hey guys so what is the difference between these two please.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-2-5ah-battery-and-…

    • The only real difference is $49.02. The one you linked is the standard price, the one in the post is a promo offering with a black label rather than red.
