                • @Rebu: Haha yeah I guess but I wouldn’t think they would want to hear a heap of complaints from people having to pay to return their online purchases. I think they will close applications soon and all of our purchases that are eligible will be approved.

                  • @Skatez: They want the weekend to come fast so they announce that it was a looong week and we got sooo many claims that exhausted the funds.

    • must be getting close to closing, their website updated this morning removing approximate funds remaining all together

  • +4

Approval for my BLVD Urbn+ electric scooter just came in. I applied on the 23rd at 11am and had to reupload some documents so it probably took a bit longer than it could've. Thanks for the post OP!

    • +2

      Good news. Congrats mate

    • any chance you could confirm what documents you uploaded for the scooter?

      • I used this document I mentioned earlier, just converted to PDF then uploaded as is. Served as sufficient evidence for meeting their criteria

        • +1

          Absolute legend. Thank you.

Was just double checking in case the info changed :)

  • Do you require a tax invoice for the application? Im looking at a bike from 99 bikes which is a special order and not in stock for a week. According to the sales rep you dont get the tax invoice till you actually pick up the bike? Im concerned grant funds will be all gone by then?

    • +1

I used 99 bikes sales order no issues

    • +1

You can go two ways - lodge with a copy of your sales order, showing the shop / ABN and a copy of your payment advice or bank statement showing the amount paid. Otherwise, or then, call and ask the 99 Bikes manager or 2IC to generate a tax invoice for you. They usually do it on pick up, but can do it ahead of collection to help you with the rebate. They would rather do that, than process returns if customers missed out on the rebate!

      • Can I buy directly when it's already cut off with the rebate or do I have to apply for it?

  • +2

Pre-schoolers are assessing applications and this explains delays. They have a hard time understanding compliance tags, which have a dedicated page in product catalogues.

Can someone please tell me if this is eligible? Thank you 🙏

    • +1

Yes, it should be from what I can see

      • Great.. thank you for your help

        • Not sure how much money is left. Gov website now just says its limited. Anybody who is still trying, best to go through most of the application process first to make sure you have all the information you need ready to go.

          • @brianc: Already bought and applied but it wasn’t available to pick up until 5th of October. I only applied with a screenshot of the order confirmation and bank statement showing the payment. Hopefully they won’t reject it.

  • Can non-PR and non-citizen get the rebate?

    • yes i believe so as long as you meet all the requirements and have proof being a Qld resident. note if you dont have a MyGov ID to log on then you will need to register with qrida.qld.gov.au then at the end you will be the required to upload your 2 x ID and only a AU or foreign passport along with a Qld drivers license or Medicare care are listed options of ID. you also need to prove you are a current resident in QLD ie DL, rates notice , power bill etc so if you have all that i can't see why you wont be eligible to apply?

  • +1

Did anyone manage to get a rebate on an Aldi bike? Thinking I've been pedalled in the wrong direction..

    • im still waiting . why do you say you have been pedalled in the wrong direction?

      • +1

I put the claim in early.. still no rebate and yet others who put in after have received it. I think the Aldi bike may not be eligible.

        • +1

Hi, have looked at the Aldi Ebike..it does qualify..the problem is the slow process..

In my opinion if you have applied you should get the rebate later than sonner…unless they close the application intake..else there will be flood of ebikes and e-scooters being returned back to the sellers for a refund..

          • @usmle9120: Thank you checking @usmle9120, fingers crossed you are correct! They must be processing rebates in a random order. I also haven't seen a successful Aldi bike rebate yet.. hrmmm….

            • +4

@Obfuscational: Mine (Aldi) has been finally approved but I haven't seen the money though.

My wife's (from 99 bike) was purchased a day later. Her money is already in the bank account.

              • @Ahan: Did you guys attach the compliance info sought in the rebate application? It's on p.21 of the instruction manual - 250W EPAC, compliance with AS15194 and the Regulatory Compliance Mark requirements are all found on that page: https://www.estatebikes.com/product-page/est-emb30-electric-…

                • @RoonFTW: I didn't just attached a copy of the webpage…

                  • @Ahan: Hopefully they will click through and find it - if they need more from you, at least you know where it is to direct them to it! Good luck and happy trails!

                    • +1

@RoonFTW: Thanks - received money late tonight as well!

              • @Ahan: How did you buy the Aldi bike? It is no longer available in store.

                • +1

@Mad Max: I bought it at the Gap on the first day of this deal. .

                  • @Ahan: 👏 lucky find!

                    • +1

@Mad Max: They had at least 8 at the time. Also there was still a link where you can check stock. I can't find that webpage anymore suggesting it might now have sold out. Good luck~

  • Can anyone tell me if this works ?https://www.bigw.com.au/product/everfit-26-electric-bike-city-bicycle-ebike-e-bike-commuter-w-battery-bl/p/9900135768?srsltid=AfmBOor6gz0-at4gTFnNPnd-GNyQSMHD-Nt-eslf99AhI1ZokcHz-psH

    • +1

Looks ok to me (best efforts only).. Speed limited 25km and all. One possible issue is you need to provide some information, including specs as part of the application process and time is not on your side. Not sure how much money is left. Gov website now just says its limited. Anybody who is still trying, i recommend to go through most of the application process first to make sure you have all the information you need ready to go, and maybe check the gov site for any updates.

    • not sure if bunnings market place will price beat it? mud guards and luggage is a bonus not that you would want to ride an ebike in the rain. is there a user manual link as you will need specs and BMS info to make a claim.?

  • +8

Just announced. Scheme has been doubled to $2m!

  • +2

For those who have approval, if willing to share the below details that would be great appreciated.

    Applied:
    Approved (or Rejected):
    Ebike OR Escooter

    • Mine still waiting for approval

      Applied: 25/09/2024
      Approved (or Rejected):
      Escooter

      • +1

It would probably be better to ask the brand and model instead of just Escooter.

        Here’s me:
        Applied: 25/09/2024
        Still waiting: Valk MX7 E-bike

Haven’t had any emails since “Acknowledgement of receipt of application” but other’s already have the rebate money in the bank for the same bike.

        • -1

You made the same mistake as me! it meets the requirement, but the bike is complete garbage. Shocking instruction manual and Half the items that come with it don't fit. Poor quality all around and with a design that has no cable management.
My guess those who recommended it here must have been associated with the eBay seller.

    • +1

My Fridge rebate took 16 days last year, fwiw

  • can anyone please the ebay valk mx7 link? one am seeing is still more than $1k after discount.

  • -6

As an election bribe, it is not easily attainable.
    I'll pass.
If genuine, far more environmental benefit could be attained using AI to optimise traffic lights, as thought human monitored.

I have as much faith in useful AI as I have in the government. Both simply seek commercial gain off the common person.

  • +4

Got e bike rebate approval letter today. Submitted application Monday 5:10pm.

    • +1

So if they are doing them in order they are still doing applications from the 23rd. Thanks for the update. Which bike did you go with if you don’t mind?

      • Cube Ella Hybrid 500 (ladies city bike) — it's great so far.

        • Sounds very nice. Congrats by the way 👍

  • +1

Surely they are making a list of approved products as they go along so we and they don’t have to keep going through the compliance information unnecessarily.

  • I submitted a claim for the valk mx7. only used ebay screenshots, will this be enough?

    • Send Mytopia a message through eBay asking for the tax invoice and they will send it to your account email. You can then add it to your application.

      • received the invoice but just concerned it does not match the ebay price which is discounted.

        • They only care that it has been paid for in full, the price doesn’t matter as long as it is above $500 so they know to give you the full $500 rebate. Be prepared to wait a while to hear from them, I’ve been waiting for a week now and haven’t heard anything since “Acknowledgement of receipt of application”.

  • +1

For those worried they won't receive the rebate, but submitted last week. It's hard not to worry, but here's a few things I found to put it into perspective:

    • i emailed the contact address on the 'submission received' email - it came back with a somewhat helpful but generic response saying please wait at least 15-20 BUSINESS DAYS (lol).

    • the site clearly says applications will be closed once funding has been allocated… I can only assume this means they will genuinely assess everyone who does submit a claim.

    • being a gov thing, you are entitled to a review if denied. they also say they will request further info if needed.

    Hopefully everyone gets their rebate!

    • @eggboi - It does say: "Funding for the E-Mobility Rebate Scheme is limited and will close once funding is fully allocated."
But on the previous page, it now says: "the Queensland Government has committed $2 million to the E-Mobility Rebate Scheme" - that was $1M until yesterday.
The govt quietly added another $1M to the pot after 1800 rebates paid out in the first week. I reckon you're right about your assumption.

      • interesting, where does it say they paid out 1800 rebates already? Seems really weird they seem to be delaying the scooter payments…

        • +3

Had my Scooter approved last night -30th. Submitted evening of the 23rd.

    • Omg 20 business days is a whole month. We don’t want to wait that long, the suspense is killing us.

      • Hopefully it’ll be all good and you can change your username to ‘Scootz’

  • -1

What F-500 Fire extinguisher is everyone buying?

  • tried to keep up with all the comments but just wondering.

has anyone considered or researched the possibility to purchase from a retailer. then if the rebate doesn't get approved to do a refund?

  • +1

    From https://applyonline.qrida.qld.gov.au/applications

Funding for the E-Mobility Scheme is limited and will close once funding is fully allocated. Approx 60% of funds remaining as of 1.00pm 01 October 2024.

  • Anyone know if this ticks all the boxes? Looking for a chilled beach cruiser

350w motor is a deal breaker. 250w max AFAIK

  • Any thoughts - Ninebot E2 Plus or BLVD Urbn+ ?

    • +2

Blvd urban+ is sheit. I have it. It doesn't move when battery is less than 50%. Lots other design problems as well.

Haven't had the other one (ninebot) though to comment of they are equal

      • legend! thanks for the feedback

      • Lots other design problems as well

Can you elaborate on the design problems?

        • +1

          These are problems I found:

          • back wheel is not pneumatic (not absorbing any shock); it will bang against rider
          • brake is a sort of funny push lever like the accelerator (rather than more intuitive pull handles). Very difficult to brake
          • it is small height (suitable for teens); tall adults must bow a little to reach for handle bar
          • useless in uphills especially if battery is less than 3 out of 5
          • lucky to be going with battery 2/5 on FLAT surface
          • overall feels very fragile and can be unstable if slowing down fast, manuevarability is weak
          • handles have a rough pad nd irritating hands for 15+ min rides
          • specification says to inflate front tyre to some PSI before the first use, so I tried at petrol stations; the nozzels can't simply reach the valve because the tyre is so tiny even though the valve size is correct no nozell can reach the valve

          On the upside:
          - it is cheaper than other models
          - it does run up to 25 km/hr of fully charged
          - not much else to add really

          • @Rebu: Great, thanks for that. Might have to look at a Segway.

  • any recommendations for a e-scooter for 12 year old ? was thinking something with at least 8" or 10" tyres for under $700 ?

    • What you do is up to you, but i’m pretty sure kids under 16 aren’t legally allowed to ride e-scooters. I would go for something lower powered, with a front-wheel brake. Many cheaper models only have rear braking which is v sketchy as it can easily send you into an uncontrolled slide.

    • Hi mengy, firstly:
No, children under 12 years old cannot ride personal mobility devices (PMDs), such as e-scooters, in Queensland. Riders must be at least 12 years old, and those aged 12–15 must be supervised by an adult.

My 14 year old son rides my ninebot F2 no worries at all but he is almost six feet tall, however my girls can also ride it and they are short. I would recommend getting something from the Segway ninebot range for that price. If you have a brick and mortar store near you like 99 bikes or JB Hi-Fi I would go there and check them out.

Applied 25/09 on an e-bike. Application number in the 308800's and still nothing

    • +1

      Same

        Same…applied 24 09

  • Are those electric ride on luggage bags eligible lol?

  • +2

    Aparently taking forever

    • Still no outcome applied 23rd in the afternoon

  • Can we still buy and apply for rebate at this stage?

  • +2

VALK MX7… complete garbage! no assembly instruction, poorly designed parts, and half the items like the reflectors and rear fender that come with it don't fit!!!
    Don't waste your money!

  • +1

Has anyone received any updates, whether approval or rejection? It seems like no one's heard anything this week

    • I’m worried the election has put a stop to the approvals

    • Nope..

  • How strict are they on battery management system

Mine doesn't really have much on except to charge it for X hours before first use

    • you will need to supply BMS info , just take a picture of the charger hopefully it has the Aus tick and may do. for those who had missing info how long does it take to approve application after you upload it? does bank statement need to show a transaction that you were a QLD resident on the date of application?

      • It has the tick but just limited info on the BMS…

Just says how long it should be charged and that's it

  • What's everyone doing for a helmet on their scooter?

    • 661 Comp Helmet. On my third one now. Crashed first time on a downhill mountain bike (broken wrist, collar bone and a ribs). Crashed second time by a vehicle running me over on a pedestrian crossing (red traffic light, green pedestrian light).

No known head injuries to report.

  • +1

Funding for the E-Mobility Scheme is limited and will close once funding is fully allocated.
Once closed, new or incomplete applications cannot be submitted.

(Approximately 35% of funds remaining as of 3pm, 8 October)
