Was looking today for new scooter. Searched around for what scooters were on sale. This seems like a good deal. Was $2699 last week.

5 year old accounts should know better.
Unlicensed, unregistered bogan motor vehicles give e-scooter a bad name.
And what sort of moron wants 1000W motor on a toy with the stopping distance of an oil tanker? Worst part, my taxes will be paying for your rehab.
It’s also over the weight limit for WA :(
Stopping distances are good as they come with disc brakes. I always pull down / back on stops to get in a habbit of emergency stops. limited to 25kph to reasonable. 1000w is good for hills, especially on starts
The stopping distance is a limit of physics, not the brake quality - small wheels and high centre of gravity. Sure you can stop faster if you know it is coming by leaning back and down. But hit those disc brakes in an emergency and the scooter may stop, but not you.
I use a scooter too, and when say somebody unexpectedly steps in front of you, it is a lot harder to react than when on a bike. So you need to go slower on footpaths etc. 25kph is good on the cycleways, but too many knobs are doing far more, often dress like ninjas with no helmets. Can't tell if stupid or death wish.
I wouldn't have though many people buy a big over-powered scooter like that if they are not intending to illegally modify it. For those who do, I apologise.
You want to go fast? Get a motorcycle, wear the gear, pay your insurance and stay off the $%^&* footpaths and bike paths.
I agree with you on speed. Too many people doing the max on footpaths. When on there, 10/kmh max and if people are in front of you an no room to overtake, just bloody well go walking speed for a while.
It’s not just scooters but bikes too. Some think they got right of way on the footpath
I'd be looking at the new Segway Ninebot one in that price range too (if it can be unlocked from 25 kmph).
https://www.segway.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-zt3-pro-el…
Why would you want to unlock it?
25 kmph is quite slow. I have a Segway G2 Max that can do 35 (bit more down a hill) and that's much better (about as fast as I'd want to go on a scooter). I do live somewhere where doing that isn't a problem (to other people).
25 kmph is quite slow.
Can't ride more than 20km/hr in public in Vic…
Anything more than 25 is dangerous.
@jv: IN public IN Victoria. There are people outside Victoria.
Also over 25 is not dangerous. Of course you can't do whatever speed you want everywhere. I suggest you don't know what you're talking about.
over 25 is not dangerous.
On an escooter it is… That's why they've made that the mandatory max limit….
@jv: No, it is to limit their speed in traffic and around pedestrians as they can be a right nuisance and dangerous in those conditions, but in less busy places over 25 is fine and can be safe, subject to the usual proviso any vehicle has - to ride/drive to the conditions (I'm not suggesting it is legal to do it on roads though).
Sorry, but I am not some young hoon. I'm an old fart and very careful. Mine is fine up to 35 in the right conditions.
One thing I would say though is that, unlike a bike, you can't easily take one hand off the bars to thank or indicate to drivers what you're doing. I don't say that to excuse the sort of twits that whiz around in places like Melbourne causing havoc. (mine has mirrors and indicators)
but in less busy places over 25 is fine and can be safe
Not when they fall off… Ask someone who works in a hospital emergency department.
@jv: I previously stated this was classed as a motorcycle, looks like the rules changed again and the power output limit has been removed.
Apologies. I'll keep reading to check the latest rules.
Exactly!
I have this, great scooter, very safe and comfy to ride. Be careful in Vic though as cops have yelled at me threatening to take me to court etc even though I limit the speed to 25.
What do you suggest might be their problem? Is it the 25km/h or just the 1000w? Btw, I have a Lambo that I limit to 100.
If I remember correctly VIC's speed limit for escooters is 20km/h.
To be legal in VIC, the e-scooter cannot be capable of being ridden faster than 25km/h, but the speed limit for them in public is 20km/hr.

I can be capable of being ridden over 25kmph
It comes to $1818 on checkout
When oh when will the authorities ever do something about this s**t?
Modifying these things is too easy and promotes loutish behaviour.2023 model though - anyone got any idea on the differences with the 2024 model?
Senior detective jv is in the house
Agreed. Otherwise some twunt is sure to mention your oversight.
