This linked bike has a 250w motor. Deal says up to 200w so I dont like your chances.

      • +2

They updated the incorrect wording on the official page to say up to 250w. Got approved for the rebate today.

        • Did this end up getting approved? Looking at the same bike.

  • +7

I picked up a BLVD Urbn+ for $499, seemed like a fine deal for 350W 29km range scooter with dual pneumatic tyres, was tossing up between this one and the Carbon M2 Pro but chose the former as I could actually find documentation on the battery, charger etc. required for the form, which I summarised in a document here if anyone else is eyeing this scooter.
    Agreed on the painful form.

    • +1

      thanks mate!

    • 350 W, not eligible then?

      • no limit on watts for e scooters only ebikes i believe. got myself the aldi ebike at $769 havent set it up yet. now only i need to get a escooter for the wife. wouldnt the Carbon M2 PRO Electric Scooter documents come in the box?

        • Question is whether eligible

          • @Rebu: I believe it should be eligible as the other reply said, watt limit is only for ebikes. I guess the documentation would come in the box, so no harm to try if buying in person or if there's a quick C&C pick up.

    • Jeo did you buy online or instore? if online did you get tax invoice straight away? i was going buy online for the 5% cashback on topcahsback site and pay with afterpay but guy in store said i wont be able to pick it up until 48hrs which may be too late if i need to upload the product specs to make the claims unless someone who has Carbon M2 PRO manaul can send it to me?

      • I did online, and got the tax invoice straight away. I couldn't find anything for the M2 pro, and even anything on the brand 'Carbon' in general, so I would be hesitant to commit to finding information on it, although as coolsteps said it should come in the box. I wouldn't be too stressed about not having enough time to make the claim as I imagine the long application process may deter some people, giving you a bit more time :)

    • jeo how do you find BLVD Urbn+? does it perform ok going up inclines?

      • Haven't received the pick-up email yet, will probably get and test it this weekend

        • Any update after a test ride?

          This comment has me worried.

          • @ShortyX: Small inclines it works fine, drops to about 10km/h, haven't had any issues with it so far, it's been good to ride. Best bet is to try it since I don't have any other scooter experience to compare it to.

    • Has approval come through for you ? I applied @5.15 pm yesterday , tx

      • Not yet, I applied 11am yesterday as well, so been about 28 hours.

    • I like your document!

      • Thanks! Received an email today saying I needed additional information but not for the document, just some goofy address stuff on my part, so it should serve as sufficient proof :)

    • would this scooter be too big for a 12 year old ?

      • +1

Depends what size the 12 year old is, I think over 5'4 would be fine, but better to go to a store and try them out. Lots of them are the same one-size-fits-all size so if they fit on those then it'll be fine with this

  • Is there a cap on the number of rebates? Do I need to buy it today to get it?

  • +1

Went and bought a bike today from 99bikes. Son needs a new bike for longer commute to school next year, so was getting one anyway.
Some of the questions in the application are a bit crap to answer. I have gone back to 99bikes already as the information on the webpage doesn't answer all the questions about charger and battery management systems.
Make sure you look at the application pages before you buy and get the seller to give you the right information. I'd be surprised if the gov rejects anything bought from a major retailer, but caveat emptor.

  • Best entry level scooter for circa $500? Thanks in advance. Going around in circles and don't want to have to think too much about it lol.

    • +1

Was thinking the Segway D18E or E2

  • +1

I got the Cube Ella 500 hybrid for my 14yo daughter to ride. 2300 after rebate and Amex discount. Looks like a nice bike.

  • +2

i got the BLVD URBN+ Electric Scooter for $429 after using a $20 first purchase coupon from 99 bikes since its easier to find parts locally for it. i should get another $80 back for the amex offer. However i have to go to nsw to pick it up as a click and collect which i think will still qualify as the store is in Australia and online? I am having trouble finding any documents about the battery management also and having the certified mark. So i will upload Jeo link. and with the user manaul hopefully that will get me accross the line. ref https://www.99bikes.com.au/blvd-blvd-urbn-350w https://blvdscooters.com.au/pages/instruction-manuals?srslti…
    some battery info here: https://www.evocycles.co.nz/Product/576010/blvd-urbn-electri…

  • How to know if the charger is compliant would be great if they just gave models that we can buy too many reading between the lines to get the correct e bike. https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Registration/EquipmentSearch.a…

  • +3

I bought the Segway D18E, as I don't need 25km of range (18km is plenty in Brisbane but more is better) and unlike the BLVD scooters it has 2 10 inch wheels for a better ride. The charger has been certified on the website they've provided and I paid $439 after discount from mobileciti which is an Australian retailer. Segway is also a massive company that makes scooters and there's tons of reviews online for it longevity and the app is great. Just posting this if people want options.

    • That’s a great deal for $239 after rebate. How did you get the $40 discount?

      • +1

There was a mobileciti discount for September I'm sorry I don't know what the code is. I preferred this scooter because of the 500w max and it's 25km/h speed. Some of the other Segways in this range offer lower speeds

    • Shashi provide us the website link please?Just be careful buying from some if its been refurbished it wont qualify for the rebate. Anyone have luck beating the segway price by 5% at iscoot or 99bikes?

    • did you receive the rebate? i'm quite worried as i bought the same after reading your comment but i've just checked Segway website and it does not have stamp that it is eligible for the rebate while other versions have. https://iscoot.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-d18e-electric-… Check this out.

      • Hey Killua, I saw that too. I applied screenshots I found of the charger online, along with a certified segway ninebot charger from an equipment registration. None of the scooters have thus far been approved but we can hope for the best. I receive my scooter soon so I'll let you know regarding the charger situation. The dimensions are all fine, so is the 25km/h speed limit.

        • any update of the rebate yet?
          TIA

  • So whats the difference of power-assisted bicycle and electrically power-assisted cycle (EPAC) haha, seems to be the same thing to me

    • I think first is a maximum 200 watt motor and u dont have to pedal at 6kph while epac you can pedal and motor can be up to 250w?

      • Yes the first one power assists through a battery but the second is where battery assists the power which explains the limits of 200 w vs 250 w

  • bought a bike. did the form. now we wait.

    • +1

cash in the account already! thanks milesy

  • +3

Just got my rebate approval email, surprisingly quick! Only took about 25hrs from when I submitted it.

  • +1

Received approval email today for this bike. They have already sent the $$$. Happy days https://www.99bikes.com.au/velectrix-newtown-electric-commut…

    • Would love to get this one but unfortunately, I live in the hilly part of Brisbane. In order for the motor to pick in I still need to pedal and one speed would kill me…

    • What was your application number. I'm concerned whether the number is in the order of applications

      • Application #569215 - fairly sure I read they process in order

        • This number should be random because I applied last night and my application number is 341839

      • +1

Fairly sure if you submit in time before the program closure you would be fine.

  • +2

    Valk MX7 successfully rebated.

    • Good to hear 👍

    • Hey Doy, what did you provide for the specifications evidence for battery management system, certified charger etc?

  • +5

All these comments of people taking up the offer but couldn't even +1 the deal…

    • +3

Lucky real OzBargainers don’t care about pozzers and neggers?

    • +1

Thanks for sharing. You are a legend!

  • +3

For anyone who is wondering how long it will take to get the rebate…
I put the application in on Monday, got the approval today (so two days total)
The letter says the transfer to my bank will take place within 3 business days.

    • I think it depends on what you applied for scooter or bike. I haven't seen a scooter approved yet and I sent mine Monday morning and it's still pending.

    • Same. Money has already hit my account.

      • Money in my account tonight too.

  • +3

Approved for Valk Vortex 3 Electric Bike - eBay has 17% off putting them $840-$920 depending on colour before the $500 cashback

    • +1

What did you upload as your tax invoice? Just the ebay payment screen?

      • Yeah I don't have the tax invoice yet I just took a screenshot of eBay payment screen

    • Thanks, I've just ordered one as well and applied for the rebate. 75% of funding has been already allocated, fingers crossed!

      • +2

Where did you see that? I can only see that 75% of allocated funds were still available at 9am this morning.

        • +1

Oh, you're right, I misread it. 55% of funds remaining this morning, I should be fine.

      • Nice mate took less than 48 hours to come back approved for me- good luck

    • Only medium frame from what I can see…

      • Yeah I couldn't find L anywhere for that bike

    • Hi, could you please share what documents/evidence you provided?

      • +1

I found it hard to get details on the battery and the pedal assist bit - I supplied the manual for the bike and selected yes to meeting all criteria.

        • Thanks. I bought one and did the same. Also supplied screenshots from the bike assembly video (link in the manual) which showed the regulatory mark. Supplied the product pages from the Valk and Mytopia websites as well. Bought on ebay and asked the seller for tax invoice. They were pretty responsive.

  • +1

Now what's a good reasonably priced d-lock for an ebike? I'm so paranoid that I'll get my bike nicked on my first day

  • +1

Just filled in the form for an ebike purchase. What a palaver! You have to upload proof of bank account details. Cross fingers now.

    • What did you buy?

  • +2

I ended up ordering the Valk MX7 last night. Thanks very much to @Doy for the awesome recommendation and for updating us on its approval and to OP @Hinee for this epic deal!
I’ve only provided the eBay order screenshot for now and will add the tax invoice later 👌🥳

    • +1

My pleasure - see you out there on your new whip :)

      • @Hinee - might be a good time to update the post - today the govt added another $1m to the rebate scheme after 1800 rebates paid out in the first week.

    • Hi Skatez, what did you upload in regards to the "You are required to upload the device product specifications ie. product brochure from the manufacturer to support device eligibility (including evidence of a regulatory compliance mark, and evidence of a battery management system)"

  • +2

Ridiculuously slow. Submitted 23 SEP still no approval or rejection!

    • +1

same here still status is in progress. does status change if they require more info? did anyone get an approval email today?

      • Applied on 24 Sept, 2024- still waiting..status is in progress..

        • +1

          Applied 25 Sep. For Escooter.
55% fund remaining as at 26 Sep 9am.
This makes me worried, likely wont get it.

          • +2

@One2Share: I submitted mine very early on the 23rd Sep, around 10am and I shared pictures of the charger and provided the verified website listing of the chargers safe specifications and all the other details about the scooter. Yet I still haven't heard back, I'm assuming that the scooters are harder for them to verify on their end and most of them may not get the rebate. Fingers crossed but it's looking that way.

            • +1

@Shashii: Mine was ebike submitted 23rd afternoon, still in progress

            • +1

@Shashii: if that's the case i might have to take my e scooter back as it was the last one in store on display and not boxed full of scratches appeared to be a return or used but i ordered it new online. i sent them an email with photos hopefully they will give me a partial refund or store credit so i can buy some safety gear.

              • @coolsteps: How much was it ?what model

                • @Poor Ass: it was the bld urban plus $449 but with all the discounts and amex cash back and the $44 partial refund ended out to be only $149 out my pocket. shame screws come loose and thread is worn out so i use electrical tape to hold them in place. happy to report finally got the $200 rebate approved too.

            • +1

@Shashii: They said they would process the claims in order of when they were received so I am confident that you will get your rebate Shashii, since your ninebot would definitely qualify. I know it’s an anxious time while we wait but I doubt they will screw us around in the end.
Hope it comes through for you today 🧘‍♀️

              • +1

@Skatez: But what they said does not take into consideration the human "corruption" and "incompetence" factors.
