      Hmm, U bought something which said seconds. Yes it was defective but you took the risk and bought it anyway. Turned out to be defective and you want compensation even after being offered a full refund?

      Why would you want a replacement, especially after you said no more Sony? Or where you hoping to get a new tv after buying a seconds tv?

      What else did you want? Electricity usage for switching on the tv? Maybe your dinner that night for expending the energy to bring the tv upstairs?

      This just reads as:
      You gambled, you lost, now you are crying foul.

          Yep, they clearly never tested it. Because it was faulty out of the box, just didn't realize it until I played a video.

        It might be different if it were new. But this is meant to have been refurbished and tested.

        There is no possible way it was tested.

        Why should we be using up our time to test they're products? Unless there is some sort of financial repercussions for this sort of business practice it won't change.

        Accc would fine them, and if you could prove a pattern of doing this you could probably get a class action against them.

        It's not entitled it's trying to get a change in shady business practices

      I contacted Sony for a replacement, they refused. Said they would refund. Said I wanted to be compensated for the time they'd wasted. They refused

      I had the same situation with a Sony refurbished soundbar.

      I had to go through all sorts of heck to get them to repair it rather than refund. I wanted a soundbar not a refund.

      They also didn’t send a courier to collect it and I had to drive it 40 mins away, take time off work, to drop it off and collect it at a repair agent. Other companies have always organised a courier.

      I didn’t ask for travel compensation but sony made it as hard as possible to get me a working soundbar

        It's been down voted because they haven't had this crap experience.

        Sony is using consumers to test their faulty products.

        3-4 hours wasted.

        Had to move it downstairs after wrestling it up stairs.

        Sony support didn't offer to replace it. Some other person on ozbargain will probably get it next
