Wireless Realforce R3 Topre keyboard (30g or 45g) for $342.95 using the coupon provided above, culminating in $387.95 at the checkout with taxes and shipping. It's similar to the HHKB, but the keyboard is made directly by Topre instead of PFU with a slightly stiffer and heavier body. Be mindful of the company's return policy before you purchase as they charge fees for returns. Cheers.

  • 30g vs 45g, which one to get?

I had a Topre TKL with the variable ASD column weights. The A key was 30g or 35g and absolutely horrible. Just resting my finger on it would trigger the key. I'd go 45g.

      • How heavy are your fingers?

I may have a skewed opinion against the 30g but I really did not enjoy the feeling, particularly because the variable weighted key layout was just plain weird.

I've typed on the basic Cherry, Gateron, Outemu switches, and have used Topre, Razer and Logitech switches. Currently I'm using Boba U4T and a numpad with Akko CS Sakura. At work I use Gat Reds. The Boba is heavy-ish, but they're fine to type on. I enjoyed the Outemu Blue clickies when I used them for a time, and Gat Reds are fine to type on too. I don't think I have a problem with any switch, really. Just that 30g is much lighter than I'm used to, on a finger that tends to rest on the keycap (WASD life).

        • Less due to finger weight and more due to the fact that keyboards with poor ergonomics like this (and most other mechs) don't have a properly designed bezel on which to rest your hand. Still, this keyboard is better than most in that regard, which is sad.

I have both and I actually like 30 more. It takes a few days to get used to it but once you’re used to it, it’s brilliant.

Was going to purchase the bluetooth version. The shipping fee is too expensive… aborted.
