    Oh, what a filling.

    • +1

      Toyota!

  • Just sold my corolla :/

    • -1

lol.. You're either saving more than this deal by not having a car, or you're mega poor now because you bought a luxury car.

      • +1

Mega poor would be the more correct answer

        • What did you upgrade to? Was it worth it?

    • Used Toyota websites are excellent ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    • Sold mine a month ago too but I'm still having the account and benefits ;) guess the new owner isn't money savvy

  • Thank you!

  • -4

Last time they declined me to use this offer as I didn't drive a Toyota car

    • +1

Debadge emblem and rebadge Toyota emblem 🤡

    • +1

Why would you expect them to honour it? Some attendants dont pay attention to what cars you drive, some do.

    • Lol.

    • -1

So what happened? Did you have to pay a non discounted price? That's scummy if billion dollar, offshored, low tax paying polluters forced you to do that.

      • Ampol is Australian owned (primarily) and operated. The rest is pretty true although if you buy anything, use typical transport in any way etc then the polluting criticism is somewhat hypocritical

  • +2

does this apply to Lexus? i mean they are just fancy toyotas

    • +9

Lexus is so fancy that they have their own app with a completely separate Ampol fuel offer (5c/L discount everyday on fancy premium fuels).

  • +2

Perfect stack with this offer from NAB. Just have to hope fuel drops back to the $1.60s asap.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/866781

    • +2

Already has, 1.59 a litre at Richlands Brisbane

  • +1

Just in time for the long weekend road trip

  • Anyone know what we could stack this with? Will fill up today/tomorrow

    • +1

See your personalised EDR (EveryDay Rewards) offers, also the NAB offer mentioned above

    • +1

See point 6. Might work, might not. I'd expect EDR points to work on top of this - did in the past but I missed out on a benefit a few months ago because the first offer voided the second. Can't remember the details but related to EDR card and the Ampol fuel app QR code.

Wookie Monster is the local oracle.

    • +5

      It should stack with:

      • Any Everyday Rewards points offers, unless you are at a Tasmanian Ampol service station.

      • Any Ampol Foodary or service station cashback offers you have on an applicable debit or credit card. You have already been told about the NAB Goodies offer for Ampol, but I am not sure if there any other offers floating around. For example, I recently had a cashback offer on my Westpac credit card where I would get cashback for spending in-store at supermarkets and/or service stations (and there was never posted on OzBargain).

      • The redemption of gift cards (e.g. AmpolCash Digital, AmpolCash physical, Category Choice gift cards). I am not 100% sure whether 7-Eleven digital gift cards still work at Ampol Foodary, because I had someone recently message me saying they got an error on the EFTPOS terminal when attempting to redeem one, but I could not work out why. (For example, was it a “bad tap” error where the terminal could not read the data from the mobile wallet? Was it Ampol specifically blocking the 7-Eleven digital gift card as a payment method? Was it Blackhawk Network declining the transaction? Not sure.)

There is a small chance it will also stack with the Woolworths fuel discount offer (6c/L in Tasmania, 4c/L elsewhere), but that will very much depend on:

      • Going to a participating Ampol service station that accepts the Woolworths fuel discount offer,
      • The checkout system allowing this, and
      • The attendant allowing this.

It looks like Ampol is trying to clamp down on this, so I expect this to not work.

  • [Toyota Owner]

Who will be the lucky Toyota owner to claim this? Pity it's not for the wider Toyota community.

  • If you pay with NAB card, you can get $10 off when you buy $80 at ampol(Targeted)

    • +1

      Me $50 spend only.

  • Most of the time Ampol staff say, toyota scanner doesn't work

  • Doesn't say you need to own a Toyota, you only need to be a member of my Toyota connect.

    • some times they refuse to give you discount if you didn't drive Toyota car

      • Maybe so, but what do the terms and conditions say.

        • you have to argue with the staff and tons of people were waiting in the line

    • And have a connected vehicle presumably?

    • I would assume you are meant to own a Toyota to be a member of Toyota connect?
Adding someone else's VIN doesnt make it legit.

  • Have used the Toyota app at a few different Ampols and haven’t ever had a problem.

    • Driving Toyota car, or not?

  • +9

A lot of Ampol stations won't accept the Toyota app, claiming all sorts of excuses (system's down, they're not participating, the barcode scanner's not working, etc etc). The same Ampol station may accept it today and suddenly won't accept it again next week. I have trust issues now.

  • +1

Thanks noelhoi. Excellent instructions. Took a while for the web app to register my car, then had to log out and back in to see the fuel offer (wasn't there initially).

Seems they didn't get the uptake on their phone app (I couldn't be bothered, wasn't worth it for their standard rewards), so have implemented an updated version of the old web service.

    • +1

      🥺 I’m glad ugaf igaf 🥹

  • Yep I don't like Ampol. Normally I avoid going there, since their petrol prices are not competitive, it's not a hard ask. Fill-up at Ampol, NO!

    • One of the few brands which compete with Costco in the unrestrained fuel-nirvana-for-retailers of the national capital, but only in near vicinity to Costco at the airport.

Filled up at Wagga APCO recently for 15cpl cheaper than the cheapest ACT/Qbyn price (invariably Fyshwick/Qbyn/airport). Most suburban outlets are 10+cpl dearer.

So called "canberra tax", and local govt refuses to do anything to make the market more competitive.

  • stack with woolies 4c/l off?

    • It hasn't in the past, you can still get rewards points by scanning your woolies card though.

      • Thanks - ill give it a go and report back

      • +1

In what order? Toy/EDR in case you have a Ww 4cpl fuel discount attached to your EDR?

        • +1

yea - toyota to get the 10c then everyday rewards to try and use a 4c/L but at least get the points….

        • Not so lucky at some locations, if the EDR card is scanned second some Ampol Foodary locations are programmed to have their systems automatically strike out/remove the first discount presented and replace it with the Woolies Discount + plus the points (It's also evident when you ask for a receipt and it displays the "your next EDR discount expires on x/x/x" below your EDR card details on the Ampol Foodary branded receipt.

    • +1

In my understanding, AMPOL stacks with bonus pts offers (specific AMPOL offer needs to be boosted usually in your EDR, also earns base pts 1pt/Ltr), whereas EG AMPOL stacks with 4c/Ltr offers

    • Depends on the operator. Some delete the woolworths discount and new one don't. Have been told they don't stack

      • Some Ampol Foodary locations already have their Point of Sales (POS) systems automatically delete the first discount presented if a customer tries to present a second discount to stack, thus if a larger partner discount is presented and the EDR is presented second, the first one is replaced with the EDR 4c discount (if the Foodary location is one of the 200+ participating locations that accepts the WW/EDR 4c discount).

  • +1

Still a shyte web app. Logout is buried. The days of programmers who can't think like users should be long gone.

    • Yeah Log Out gotta be via Profile page lmao

      • IIrc Ubank web app had the same rabbit warren logout at one point.

  • -1

Forgot to ask - what's the coffee like? Wouldn't normally bother/risk the offer not working.

First to try the whole shebang (coffee & Toy & EDR discount&points) and report back gets well earned props.

    • +2

I really don't like the coffee, it's not a rich flavour, tasted burnt, and definitely worse than 7 eleven's
It also didn't seem to track correctly and I ended up paying for it
      What a nightmare

  • Offer does appear in my Toyota connect app when you click on 'Redeem Now'. I did not need to reregister.

I have used this for my non-Toyota car before and have never been asked. (Yes, I do also own a Toyota)

    • The new platform is Toyota Go which is currently still web based only. I assume going forward Connect will be replaced by Go in due time. While it’s true you need not reregister on the new platform, but I think details of offers will only be displayed via Go (web).

      • I had Benefit offers for movies, Toy merch, etc but NO fuel offer at all, not even the standard 4/5cpl until I re-entered my vehicle details as per your instructions.

  • Such a hit and miss, some locations aren't trained for this and give you a blank stare when you show them the qr code..

    • They've never scanned a bar code before?

QR is the new, better, bar code.

      • +2

Just not the Toyota one… They once tried to scan it with the everyday rewards scanner and when I told them it's the wrong scanner they just said the other one wasnt working 😂

  • Includes regular size coffee or hot beverage, no minimum spend

Free regular size coffee must be redeemed in a transaction including a fuel purchase

    Which is it?

    • Both. No minimum spend on in store purchases, a common enough reqt.

    • +1

Mate, it clearly says AMPOL FOODARY, that is on a different planet to EG AMPOL.

  • JZX100 Chaser accepted?

    • I read somewhere on the app or the web saying vehicles from 2001 can be added to the account, but i also read in the FAQs mentioning 2009, but my vehicle is 2007 and it works.
I think the best way is just to try adding it and see if it works

  • Thanks for posting OP!

Too bad it doesn’t work with my 80…

  • Still ends up 4-6c dearer than most places around…

    • +1

this can stack with 5 to 6% off gift card for another 8 to 9c off

  • Hmmm do I have to get the coffee I wonder

    • +1

PIF (Pay It Forward) and ask the clerk to give it for free for the next customer 😊

  • Currently diesel price at Ampol near where I live is around 17c/l more expensive than the discount servos :) (Ampol 179.9c/l Discount servo 162.3 c/l )

Only reason you would buy fuel from Ampol (and BP with similar or more expensive prices) around where I live is if you had a lease car with a fuel card you had to use.

  • 10c offer displays in my app, did not reregister or go to web site. Worth looking there first. I do have a vague memory of being forced to update the app a few months back.

    • The actual offer with all that it entails? Or just the Redeem now button that leads to the usable QR code?

  • Participating ampols are over 10c more expensive than nearby non participating one.

  • Damn they wouldn't let me sign up with my '99 Camry.

  • +1

Thanks Op. My local Ampol allowed me to stack woolies discount as well so total of 14c with free coffee.

    • +1

Care to explain how you did that in detail?
What barcode you scan first? Etc TIA 🙏

      • +2

Checkout lady asked if I have woolies reward for 4c off. I mentioned that I have toyota one which gives 10c off. She said it is fine to stack them both.

She scanned Woolies Rewards first and then from my toyota. It stacked.

Also, don't forget to mention free coffee offer as well.

        • I believe u got lucky the clerk lets u stack. The ones i’ve been to here in WA they always say no 4cpl in Ampol, so there seems to be so many versions depending on operator…😅

          • @noelhoi: The one in Cockburn near 3230 let's you stack. The one in south lake no

            • @MeesusEff: What suburb is 3230 😅 not even in WA.
Last time the clerk at Ampol Foodary Murdoch on South St across from Murdoch Uni allowed stacking FYI.

              • +1

@noelhoi: 3230 smoke and grill the burger shop 😂😂

                6164 Cockburn

        • I can confirm the same.
Fill up at Ampol Metro, scanned my EDR first and then scanned my Toyota fuel barcode. And the guy over the counter said their system was updates last week to allow discounts to stack.

    • +1

Yep, as per my comment aboive we're keen to know Harry. Those in your vicinity might also like to know which outlet.

      How was the coffee?

      • +1

I have replied above. Location is Mawson Lakes, SA.

        • -2

So the the store was an Ampol EG store, not a Foodary?

          • +1

@tunzafun001: Mawson Lakes (Pooraka) is a Foodary, and is one of the 200+ sites that also accepts WW/EDR 4c discounts on top of the EDR points.

EG Ampol doesn't accept Toyota (or any of the Ampol Foodary partner discounts) as EG has their own partners for discounts.
Wookiemonster had compiled a list of partner discounts listed at Ampol Foodary, EG Ampol and Ampol franchisees at the provided link.

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/fuel_discounts#ampol

        • +1

          Location is Mawson Lakes, SA.

I also filled up there and can confirm that the offer stacks to get 14cpl off. Paid with 6% off AmpolCash eGC as well.

Pity they no longer have 95 or 98.

    • can you upload your receipt here?

  • I can't seem to add the car in the GO web page. Same username and password as Toyota connect seems to work. But when I add a vehicle, it shows up as "updating vehicle, hold tight while we process the vehicle" state but then nothing when I refresh the vehicle page in the go app after 30 minutes.

    • +1

I had a similar issue due to having duplicate account (somehow?) with different email from the Connect app.
After I logged in to the correct one (the one in the Connect app) on the Go page, it successfully added the vehicle for me. You might need to call/email them if you still have issues even after using the correct account.

For the time being, if you have previously setup your Connect properly and had been using the QR code to get 4c/L off, nothing much you need to do to still get 10c/L, just scan the same QR you’ve been using and automatically you should get 10c instead of 4c.

  • I’ve added my work company car to the Toyota app. Got the 10cent p/ltr off voucher showing. I went into a Ampol foodary now enquiring if I could use the QR code to get the free coffee to test it out.

The attendee knew about the QR code, and would accept it. But my company fuel card is a Ampol card, and that doesn’t work with this offer. Or everyday rewards for that matter, but that’s another gripe.

There appears no reason why I can’t take my personal car (not a Toyota), and use this QR code to get the discount. I will try this and report back.

    • Hey mate, any update on the using the QR code? Im in the same position as you with the work car and ampol card.

  • Just used this at Ampol Edwardstown SA and wasn’t driving a Toyota when I filled up.

  • MyToyota discount wasn't working today. Attendant said it's been an issue all day today!

    • Worked for me (yesterday 1/10) here in Perth.
The Toyota Connect app did not work - says I have redeemed my code but the website works.

      • So you can go through website? How do you do that? I had a different issue. Got message banner at the top of the app "sorry, something went wrong. Please try again. If problem persists, please contact us" when i went to click "redeem now"

I tried around midday Perth time yesterday. It's working now … of course!
