I have this exact combination actually!
It's close but it does work. I bought this rubber mat from the Good Guys and its been great.
I also bought a 5m cambuckle tie-down (not a ratchet strap) from Bunnings to secure them both together but probably don't need that really.
Just make sure to level out the washer before stacking.
PM me if you want some photos

      • Absolute legend. Cheers mate - this has really sold it for me. Was a bit worried about the dimensions originally but good to know it worked for someone else with this exact same combo.

        • No worries at all! I forgot to mention that the when stacked and aligned, the dryer sticks out the back about 7-10cm further than the washer. Wasn’t an issue in my case but might be for you if it needs to fit inside a laundry cupboard?
Happy to go and measure it if you need!

      • +2

This rubber mat is $30 at TGG Commercial if you have access to that https://www.thegoodguyscommercial.com.au/pacifica-black-rubb…

    • +1

As others mentioned, just get a rubber mat to put on top the washing machine and put the dryer on that. In 2 years it hasn't moved at all.

  • There seemed to be a few comments about the lint filter getting easily clogged and hard to clean but they have now been unpublished, possibly due to wrong model number I think.

Can anyone who has one of these confirm if the lint filter is fine? I'm happy and used to cleaning a normal lint catcher but don't want to be deep cleaning fins or internals every few cycles. I'll plain just forget to do it!

    • Yeah I got mine wrong also as it's the Solt model. Need to constantly clean both filters, fins get clogged with dust and become wet, mould may occur etc etc

      • I bought a solt and it died within a week from excessive sparking out the back. Good guys online are extremely painful to deal with 10hrs on hold

        • I have the solt too, if you leave door open for it to dry is it much easier to clean lint out of the fins?

          • @Brick50: Dunno, mine died before any of those issues could show up

  • This vs a normal dryer, assuming 2kwh vs 5kw hour. 2.5 hour loads, 6 times per week. Total time to recoup initial investment = 34.3 weeks.

    • Specs say an input power of 800W. I think a normal dryer is somewhere around 2KW

    • +3

Why would you run a dryer every day when the sun is free? Only for a rainy day.

      • +1

Maybe they are American. It's a weird cultural thing that Americans think you are poor if you don't use the dryer. Rofl

        • Washers and dryers (and fridges) almost always stay with the house (or come new) when buying or renting over there.

        • Not only that.. Due to the whole culture thing (can't think of any other reasons), many of their apartments don't even have balconies (like some of very old apartments here) so you can't even dry in sun anyway. Different story for houses.

      • +1

Because it's free with solar and not everyone has the space outside

        • if it's free then why get a heat pump dryer? lol

          • @realaccount627465746: No one said to get a heat pump dryer in the context of this conversation, but at this price you may as well.

      • +2

The sun is giving me free power via solar to run the dryer

      • My courtyard only gets sun between 11 and 3 in winter/autumn. Also hard for wet clothes to dry when it doesn't get above 10 degrees.

    • you're running a heat pump for much longer than a regular dryer though. uses less power per load but your method of calculation is flawed

  • Great price for a heat pump dryer. I'm pretty sure I paid a similar amount for my 1 star energy rated non-heat pump dryer.

  • They still said I have to clean the lint at the back of the machine. Did you have to rotate the machine to do it because that's a painting that ass. Especially when it's stacked at the bottom.

    • +2

What you do behind closed doors is your business…

      • Is water based or oil based best for painting one's ass?

      • It has to be done right behind closed doors otherwise you ruin manufacturer warranty. What do people mean exactly by at the back?? Is the filter just inside back or what?

  • +1

Just bought it for $513 last Saturday, can I ask them for price protection?

    • +1

Please ask them and let us know

    • would like to know the same too

      • No luck, basically this is from eBay not from themselves.

  • Do these heat pump dryers take longer to dry than your regular dryer?

    • +3

Yes much longer, but use less electricity doing it.

      • -1

I disagree. A regular dryer takes 60-90 mins to dry a full load of towels. This one does it in exactly the same amount of time but using much much less energy. I think the theory that they take longer started from early days of HP dryers and then the introduction of 2 in 1 washer dryers made things worse. Nowadays I'd say they use the same amount of time.

        • Yep and have same issues with some clothes not fully drying.

          • @TEER3X: So far i havent had to exceed 1.5hrs on any load

            • @15KING: Is it 1.5 hours or 1hr 50 mins?

I just set it on the auto setting, mixed. Not sure what's the best setting tbh.

    • +1

If I spin a load at 1400 rpm, it takes 2-2.5 hours on the warm setting.

      • Didnt you say above that yours is the other model though, the EHPD80?

        • Nah i have this exact model

          • @15KING: And do you have the lint-getting-stuck problem and think if I'm looking for a new heat pump dryer I might be better looking at a different brand /unit?
I'm happy to clear a lint filter if it's not difficult but if it regularly needs to be cleaned at the back of the unit requiring me to pull it out of it's cubby hole, i'm less keen.

    • Yep. Like 3.hours for a load. But they are way cheaper to run.

  • do you guys need any plumbing for this ??

like it has a drain container for water ??? or need to plumb the drain ?

    • The container is for if you don't want to plumb it, but you have to empty it every load.

    • +1

Can do both. Either empty container after each load or find somewhere for drainage tube to drain

    • Just run the included drainage tube into your laundry sink, or, preferably, a hose outlet into the drain pipe.

      • hmm we can like attach both washing machine hose and dryer to same hose too I guess (just some plumbing work to do) ?

  • +1

Excludes ACT? Can’t get any ACT address to work on the eBay site. Guess we count as “Regional NSW” :(

  • Where are these made?

    • China

  • Anyone able to check out and deliver to Adelaide Metro? - Ebay is telling me to update my address

    • Having the same issue as well.

    • I had this issue when trying to buy from the previous deal post on here. When I changed my address to 5069, delivery was available, but not my default which is on the south coast. This was their reply to my message on eBay:

      Hi there,

      Thank you for your message,

Ebay shows our stock country-wide as a default setting.

If it's out of Ebay stock in your state at the moment, it won't let you purchase it via the Ebay Store as we have to be able to deliver any orders placed within a reasonable time frame in agreement with Ebay. Once back in stock in your state, it comes available to order again on the website.

We are a delivery only service for any stock ETAs please contact 1300 000 500 and our support team will be able to assist you.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

      Regards,

I just bought mine from their website, not eBay, yesterday for $515 delivered. With the YESS rebate factored in it is a ridiculous deal!

  • Think they've run out of stock for NSW? Can't get delivery to Sydney Metro. ”item does not post to you."

    • Getting the same thing for Adelaide. Looks like it got OzBargained.

      • Try their website rather than eBay store, it is $515 which is still a great deal.

  • just placed an order. Do they provide free installation for this? I just need some help stacking it on top of my washing machine.

    • +1

They sent the dryer through Winning Services. They installed the unit and took all the packaging with them. Very nice.

  • Still waiting for our 25 year old electricity guzzler to die as I slowly make my home more energy efficient. Fortunately I get 3 hours free electricity per day which is when we use our dryer, heaters, dishwashers etc so I guess this wouldn’t save any money for us atm, just the environment.

    • It's not really free when the other 21 hours are higher to make up the difference

      • +1

Sort of true, but you try and make it work. My record is about 60kwh in the free period of 3 hours.

        • -1

Almost reads like "sad but true"

  • +1

Seems like NSW is now out of stock. Placed an order for NSW yesterday night 11pm.

Bought this Electrolux anti vibration mat with jbhifi $10 perks voucher, $50 if anyone is interested in stacking. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/unilux-ulx108-rubber-appl…

Pulled the trigger at 6pm last night. Delivered and setup at 8am this morning. And they took away our old machine (not working). I just connected the drainage hose to the extension provided and have it draining to the laundry sink. Will give it a go later today.

Impressed with the delivery time and removal of the old machine for $463! But I'm in metro Sydney. YMMV

    • Put my order in around 8pm in Perth, they scheduled it for delivery Wednesday.
I can't be home, but a 60 second phone call and it's now coming next week when I'll be there.

  • +2

I woke up this morning to an email stating it would be here between 8.30am and 10.30am and delivered "from Winning Services, an Appliances Online group company"

They arrived at 8.28am. I'm near Campbelltown NSW.

One of the 2 guys said they had 22 more deliveries but not sure if he meant the same item. I believe he did though.

eBay notifications initially said to expect it from the 27th so I was very impressed with the service.

Hope those who also ordered one get it soon.

    • Surprised they didn’t call to check if you were available though. They did last month with my dishwasher.

  • For those who has gotten their orders, do they help take it out of the box and assemble?

    • +1

Got mine with the last deal. I made a spot for it before arrival and they put it in the spot, plugged it in and peeled off some tape. They won’t mount it for you on top of a washing machine though.

    • +1

I've had a washer and dryer delivered (at different times) from Appliances Online and both times they removed it from the box before bringing it inside.

    • +2

Yes this morning they took it out of the box, took our old one off the washing machine and put the new one on. Didn't connect up the drainage hose, but checked that it switched on with power. They also took away our old dryer.

      • Was is delivered by Australia Post? I find it hard to believe they would deliver a clothes dryer, let alone remove the old one?

    • +2

Mine got delivered this morning by Appliances online/Winning services and installed (stacked on my washing machine). Also took away the packaging.

  • Bought from them last promo at $538,still waiting for delivery, will they price match the difference ?

  • Looks like it went up by $2? It's showing $465 now, cost half a coffee more, but still a good deal.

  • +1

Purchased last night to replace my vented dryer.

Any idea how much I'm actually saving in dollars/cents?

    https://www.canstarblue.com.au/electricity/how-much-energy-d…

Is this a Condensed dryer? a bit confused, if someone can shed some light, that would be much appreciated!

    • From Appliances Online site:

Heat pump dryers are a type of condenser dryer that passes heated air through the drum, but instead of using a heat exchanger they use smart, heat pump technology, which not only condenses the humid air into vapour, but it also conserves and recycles much of its heat within the dryer instead of exhausting it into the surroundings. This technology makes heat pump dryers the best on the market, especially in terms of energy efficiency.

      • +1

Yeh thanks, i saw that. Still don't understand the costs. I will plug in my smart plug for my first load to check! My delivery is arriving tomorrow when ebay said end of the month! Not bad

  • Is it easy to get fixed on a laundry wall for an apartment?

People mentioned you need to be able to access the back of this dryer to maintain it, is that true?

    • +2

It is too heavy to wall mount

      • What’s the max weight for a dryer?

        • you're looking for the heaviest one you can find?

        • It's mentioned in the eBay ad under the 'Features and Specifications' section

  • I just got an amended deliver date for 9th October… ordered around 8pm.

    • +1

Same delivery date for NSW. Ordered at 11pm.

  • I'm waiting for the comments:

    • I'd rather buy a ten-year old second hand Japanese one
    • The company will pull out of Australia within 4 years
    • The battery inside it will spontaneously burst into flames consuming your house
    • The safety standards are now worthless
  • +1

i didnt measure my washing machine and found that its 1cm short..
was going to buy a mat but with most being around $50 thought these stacking kit for an extra $13 and also a rachet strap for extra safety would be better value. Plus will fix the issue of my washing machine being a smaller size?
havent ordered yet but if anyone has other opinions on why its crap let me know! other than the strap makes it look tacky haha

found a cheaper one that looked similar:

  • +2

out of stock before i could buy it
also this is listed on the victorian VEU website for a rebate
but not sure if we need a licensed installer to claim this.

    Its only a $70 rebate :(

    • +1

Yeah I don't think we can claim as individual purchasers

Glad to be proven wrong though.

      • +3

        FYI @dragonslayer @TEER3X

Thanks to the tip from @gnarkill (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15655004/redir), I filled out Homelab's registration form (https://www.homelab.com.au/register) earlier today asking if they would process a rebate for this dryer purchased from Appliances Online.

They've already sent back a quote indicating a $75 rebate as well as a claim form, which I've filled out and sent back with my invoice and a couple of GPS tagged photos of the dryer and serial number label on the back.

Turnaround is meant to be ~4 weeks for the claim to be approved.

  • +2

Purchased last night 6pm Adelaide Metro delivered 9am this morning. Ridiculous.
Now to find someone with a concession card to get the $376 rebate for SA residents.

  • I figure, if I have a large solar, there's really no point upgrading my traditional dryer for a heatpump one

    • +1

Won't make your laundry insanely humid and shrink your clothes as much

  • OOS unfortunately

  • Pretty mental price for a heat pump dryer. Mine lasted maybe 3.5 years. I still haven't fixed it yet. Clothesline drying is more satisfying

    • +1

What went wrong with your one?

  • +3

back in stock but i think might be only local delivery in NSW, vic address is not being accepted

  • +4

So i ran a mixed load with an energy monitor. Was around 5kg worth of clothes. The preset was i believe 1h 40min, it took around 2h 10min.

Everything is super dry and seems it was gentle on the clothes compared to my vented dryer.

1.10kW.h was used. Which is just under 30 cents…

Does this sound right? Seems super cheap to run??

  • +1

Haven’t received mine yet.hopefully due for delivery soon

  • +2

She's back $489. And delivery to Vic has returned
