Unless you need VLANs and QoS IMO the 8 port unmanaged version is a better deal.

Mercusys 8-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch with 7-Port PoE+, Full Gigabit Ports, 65W Budget, Up to 250m, Isolation Mode for Network Security, Plug & Play, Metal Casing, Silent Operation Design (MS108GP)
$54 | https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C3D21DKJMercusys is a brand owned by TP-Link. Have this very unit and hasn't missed a beat in over 12months it's been in place.
sigh. i bought one recently for $79
works fine
except web browser config doesn't load properly and needs to be refreshed a few times till it works64 w budget LOL
so 16w per port?
that's fine for say… a hikivision right?
Yeah PoE+ cams are normally 8-12w (worst case) so you could happily run 4 off this bad boy
What's the distance limitation with the PoE+ cameras ?
Would I need some kind of extender as this?

Gigabit PoE Passthrough Switch, 1 PoE in 3 PoE Out Extender
$34.99 | https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BWMSPLLF/@whyisave: PoE+ is rated for 100m
What you linked is a PoE+ splitter not really an extender, if it’s the 1000m you’re assuming is metres it’s actually referring to the transfer rate of 1000mbps (1Gbps) so nothing to worry about :)
my reolink floodlight is like 25w bro
@adam149: That’s not as much a camera as it is a floodlight
Looking at getting this to pair with OPNSense box. This is a great price for what you’re getting. Currently comparing it to the TL-SG2008P and Ubiquiti UniFi Switch US-8-60W which are both more expensive, but wondering if the extra ‘features’ are worth it or just marketing. Hoping to run 3 main subnets to seperate truenas, cameras and wifi devices. Will be setting up WireGuard tunnel for remote access. It seems that this switch (TL-SG108PE) should be able to handle that fine, hoping someone can confirm this before I pull the trigger. Thanks
Let us know what you decide, that's pretty much along the lines of what I want to do but am still deep into another project so can't afford the time to figure it out haha
Hey mate,
I ended up buying this and don’t regret it at all! Paired it with the Topton N100 barebones from AliExpress and added 256gb ssd and 16gb ram myself. The switch hasn’t skipped a beat. Sturdy build and reaches advertised speeds without any config. Currently is managing the 3 VLANs I previously mentioned without any problems. Only downside I’ve found is the somewhat outdated web GUI but it contains all the necessary settings nonetheless.
I’ve had a great time getting everything up and working, including mullvad VPN for all internet bound traffic. Jellyfin has been great too. My next thing will be setting up another lxc for home assistant. Hope you’re enjoying your current project, would definitely recommend just going for it!
How do you add this to cart? I don't see any option for this price…
Alternatively you can get the KeepLink 10 port gigabit switch with 8 PoE+ (30W each) ports and 2 Uplink ports for US$29.34 (~A$43.86) with coupon OZAF05 or AUFF05
They've been flawless all year with PoE cameras and phones.
hmmm codes not working getting AU$49.33
I second this… flawless.. 8 ports with POE+ offering 30 watts each port with a total of 120watts overall.
flawless for the reolink heavier demand cameras with floodlights.
Think this price is gone…
These would be okay for the Unfi APs?
Depends on the AP. Some of the newer models can pull 21W each.
I'm looking at the U6+ which I think is 15w. Most likely get 2 of them
I bought one of these a year ago for closer to $100. Been a great unit, hasn't skipped a beat. I also use the other non-powered switch ports. Powering four Samsung/Hanwha cameras as we speak.
Would this be a better deal?
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CHFF8JHD/ref=syn_sd_onsite_de…Do you need a managed switch?
This is amazing value. It has more PoE+ budget than the Unifi 16-Port PoE fanless switch (42W) which costs $500.
