For those sim hoppers who need something as cheap as possible, to use for a month. These are the cheapest Lebara sims, now that the $14.90 is no longer available, although you do get 15GB of data, instead of the 8GB.

Get 15GB data (10GB + 5GB bonus) for the first 30 days, then 10GB ongoing.

      Have you had any trouble porting out from Lyca? Have seen some mixed feedback.

        Not sure, I just bought some. I read some negative feedbacks from here, they reported had porting issues a few month ago when Lyca switching from Telstra to Vodafone

          Port in procedure is complicated. First you neew to activate with a new number then after activation, you need to transfer the number. I would just not do that any more

            @Mortin: Thanks for the info. Does it slow down the porting process by much? Usually porting between Boost/Lebara first thing in the morning it only takes a few minutes.

              @bonezAU: Took them 1 hour to do the porting, however the call centre is nice enough. tbh I would not want to try Lyca again though. Pretty hard for first time user. If you use Imessage or facetime, the phone will recognise the old sim number, it will rectify itself after a day or two.

                @nguyentran: Why did you need to call them? Can't you do the porting all online?
                I don't have an iPhone so not going to experience either of those issues you had.

                  @bonezAU: I tried to do the porting online - it just said porting failed after a couple of times trying so I gave up and called them.

      Lyca has always been an absolute nightmare every time I have made the mistake of using them. Their system is a badly configured mess.

      There is a reason they are running that cheap.

        A month. I like to get as much value as possible from my stepping-stone sims, don't want to spend money without a semi-decent GB/time return.

        And for clarity I paid $7.

      Whenever you want, before the expiry date (probably next year some time). The bonus 5GB data does end 5/11/24 though, whether it gets extended or not is unknown.

    Did anyone have issues not receiving activation SMS from Lebara? I am having issues churning old number to Lebara and activating as I cannot receive activation sms.

    The online activation provided 10GB not 15GB. The packs I got had written on them:

    15GB*
    $19.90
    10GB + 5GB Activation Bonus

    *Activate by 19/08/25 for 15GB total data.
    Reverts to 10GB thereafter.

      Did you check via the website? The 5GB bonus data is a separate entry which doesn't appear on the app.

        It doesn't say that anywhere on the packaging. Just says you need to activate by 05/11/24 for 15GB total data.

        I didn't enable auto renew and have the bonus data.

        Usually the issue is that people have the bonus data, but only use the app where it doesn't show.

          My service literally runs out of data, just the base data as I track my data sessions internally on my phone. And then I port out.

              So does anyone know when that runs out then does the 5 GB bonus become available?

              I'd have thought that bonus should be added to list/show in the total available/used data even if it is listed separately as an item.

                @samlor: I asked someone who used the bonus data back when the extra small plan used to be 4gb + 4gb bonus and they believe that the bonus is only used once the initial data runs out.

                The bonus data won't be added to the list/total available. The total will still say 0gb, as it takes the data from your 5gb bonus, so you would need to use the website to see how much remains.
