Borner V5 Mandolin Slicer 40% off at Myer. Now $38.40 (Was $64)

80

Been looking all over for this Borner V5 - for more than 2months. cheapest I have found was $60+

Great deal for a very strong slicer. now my wife is happy :)

EDIT: just been playing with the slicer. Great device if your slicing/chopping lots of big chunky things eg.onions/potatoes/cabbage. It's an ok slicer for long veges like carrot/cucumber as long as you slice across it (pointless to try and slice these veges lengthwise).

its different. your link is more towards the basic version. i used both versions. v5 is way way better. just fyi

    • Actually I'm almost certain they are different models. Then there's postage on top. It's a good price for a quality mandolin.

Edit; That'll teach me to procrastinate midway through a post lol

      • I have used a Vee Slicer type thingie for years …mostly I buy them at the Op Shops for a few $$$$..I am sitting here looking at my last mandolin/slicer I bought from an Op Shop and payed $5.00 for and it was brand new still in the box unopened .and yep it is a Borner..I also have a food processor Kenwood which has an a blade for slicing etc ..and I would guess most food possessors do the same thing . A lot of people are scared of using the Vee type slicers that is why so many of them end up at Op shops ..I have tried the slicers with the straight blade and in my view they are nowhere as good as the one's with the V….shape slicer

Great Christmas present for the wife. It will go well with the iron I've got her

It should complement nicely the size 9 boot that she's likely to give you. lol
