          Thank you :)

"actual price" is probably the incorrect term. jv will tell you it's the "normal price"

          Thanks @Jack D Price :)

These are just okay. Within weeks the pedals get progressively worse. Though for the price of two, it's better than others within that price range.

    • What do you mean progressively worse? Hard to press? Or just stops working all together after a short time?

      • So this particular bin is a soft close one and it works fine at first. Over time, it doesn't soft close anymore and depending on how hard you step down the lid stays up so you need to close it manually.

It still works as a bin though, so I don't think people will mind.

        • Thanks for that! I'll see how it is when it turns up but I might need to return it because of the size anyway. Last 2 bins we had were clicky press ones that pop up when you press and need to manually open and close but the clicky stopped on both pretty fast so you need to have nails to open it now and at the same time get them all gross.. Back to foot pedals I say! I can deal with needing to close it manually.. 😅

Yeah I would never buy cheap pedal bins, they always break, if you're gonna get one of these you need the high quality brands.

My main kitchen bin is a pedal Brabantia that I bought in 2007 and has been in constant use since, still going strong with zero maintenance and no diminishment of function, that's a true ozbargain.

I have a simplehuman one from mid 2000s, excellent quality, hasn't missed a beat. Haven't used it in a few years as my current kitchen has a built in bin, but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it, never thought I'd be fond of a bin haha

I used to have the typical OzB mentality when it came to bins, no need to spend much on what is essentially a "store for garbage".

We went through so many el-cheapo bins, from Kmart, to Ikea to bunnings. Then when the cheap plastic lining in our bunnings bin cracked, my wife lost her shit and went and got this gorgeous (lol) bin from JosephJoseph (I think its called the Porta?).

I saw the light then… I was amazed at how much of an impact having a good bin in the kitchen has. Like simple things like the way the bag replacement happens, how sturdy and smooth the lid mechanism is, the charcoal odor eliminator… I absolutely love the freakin thing.

We replaced all the high use bins in the house with higher end ones.

    • Yep I got the same one, and it worked fine for a week, but now the lid doesn't close fully and stays slightly open.

  • Damn, I just saw this one after checking out OP's.. 😅 Probably better if you're after a single, larger (kitchen) unit.

I have this bin, it is really good, 3 years and no pedal issues

      • Now I'm even madder. I just bought the triple in the comment below.. 🤣

        WHY AM I SOO DUMB?

(Luckily I paid all via BNPL so I might just hit the trifecta, order the 50L aswell and return the 2 I don't prefer.. 😂

Also, why did someone downvote my above comment? 😅

I also have had this bin for over 3 years and it's still working great

  • Check your bins when you buy them - we bought this and had to return twice due to cracked/snapped plastic on the base of both the big and small bin's casing, as well as broken plastic rims on the bin bucket itself making it really hard to lift the bucket out of the metal case.

    • I was just on live chat to them, they won't cancel any online order. They also said I can reject the order on delivery (impossible for me as I selected, "leave unnattended") or having to take it to your local to return it in person.

Going to be a bit impossible if it turns up damaged.. 😅

Not a bargain but can vouch for the quality of https://www.bunnings.com.au/eko-20l-stainless-steel-pedal-bi…?
At least so far. Only recently got them but feels way better than my previous piece of crap.

TBH, I would pay a premium for something like Eco Bins or similar. The build quality is poor and the foot pedals come off so easily, you end up replacing the bin way too much.

Eko bins - we have some from 10 years ago still going.

  • great deal. I have the 5l in steel finish and 30l in black finish….this is a great price for the two! So far no peddle issues as some have mentioned

  • +1

i've had the larger one of these for five years with no problems so far

    • +1

Same. It replaced an Ikea one that was ~$90, which I was very dissapointed in (rusted, pedal broke within 2 yrs).

  • +2
  • I've been using the larger one for almost 3 years now and it's still going strong. This is a bargain.

  • Sold out :(

    • +1

It's still available for online order.

  • Got my lazy as s to the shop only to pick one that had all 3 sold out…

    • Now your lazy ass can get an automatic sensor bin and save this pedal pushing nonsense.

  • nice pedal replacement for my racing car simulator setup

  • I've had the 30L white one for 3 years now and no issues. If I saw it on clearance I'd definitely grab a spare.

  • First world problems, what kind of bin to get :s

  • so what's something better quality for a bit more? Not worthing spending 200$ exactly on a bin.

maybe just look at ikea for something cheap and good
    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/hallbar-bin-with-lid-light-grey…

  • Got mine today, the smaller bin is 4.5L, they put a sticker saying 4.5L over the original 6L on the box 😭

  • Still in stock at my local store, I grabbed 2 (one for garbage, one for recycle) to replace my old silver round ones that have gone rusty/broked. Cheaper than buying 1x30L for $45.
