  • good device, not perfect yet highly recommended

  • This, or ecovacs deebot x2 omni?

    • if you can wait the qrevo master

      • Ok this seems like the one to get! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g71E4gSDnic
finally ticks all boxes for me, ive got an OG S5 that needs an upgrade, the mop function never did a good job, seems its available in the states but wont ship to Australia, am I reading right that you cant add cleaning solution to it, unless you get the plumbed in dock? can you maybe just pour a bit in the water tank?

        • Just checked and this looks to be

$2699 pre-order price, which has now been taken down by roborock AU.

          Might just grab this instead…

          • @ramb9: Ouch! I cant justify $1500 let alone $2700, my most expensive possessions: house, car, robot vacuum cleaner, OLED TV, iPhone… just doesnt sound right!

            • @noslappers: Lol, I think I agree… just need to justify the external bag costs into this vacuum aswell…

    • I just got the deebot from aldi on Saturday. Its a bit shit. Gets stuck on furniture, floor transitions, charging cables, etc. The longest its run is 6 min before it gets stuck and yells for help. Its just easier to do it myself with the miele. I know more expensive ones have video analytics to avoid getting stuck so I think I will take it back and look to upgrade but my expectations of an expensive unit are very high.

  • What bout Eufy X10 Pro omni vs this one? Whats ur thoughts people

    • You can get the eufy around $1100 if you have the good guys commercial accounts.

      • I am thinking should i get this or the x10 i have commercial account

  • Is Roborock the best robot vac brand at the moment? Need some experts here.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. Coming from an S5 Max and Q7 Max this is a huge upgrade especially with mopping (hot mop, mop washing, spinning mop heads, articulating mop head gets into corners). Based on reviews of other Roborocks and other premium options I don’t think you’ll get better mopping on other models.

Vacuuming is also much quieter than our previous S5 max but just as effective. The raising mop head on carpets, app functionality and dock are also excellent upgrades.

We keep our floors clear so reviews that show the AI obstacle avoidance is subpar are not really relevant to me.

Overall, no issues and does everything better than I expected compared to reviews.

    • Thanks nice to hear some good feedback.

At this stage, do you know how long does one disposable bag last for you and how often are you vacuuming?

      • +1

After two weeks of daily vacuuming 80m2 it’s about 20% full. This is mostly tiled areas, no pets.

    • Did firmware upgrade not fix the terrible obstacle avoidance?

      • Maybe? We have no obstacles on the floor so I am not sure either way (this seemed like a big sticking point for the YouTube reviews I watched but utility of that function depends on your use case). If the latest reviews suggest so then I would go with that unless someone else has practical experience to report.

        • Was the avoidance worse then your S5 Max, as I have the original S5 and haven't experienced the magic of obstacle avoidance, I simply pick up things that could get stuck in the rollers such as cat toys and cables before vacuuming, how often are you mopping your place and how often are you then emptying and refilling the water containers??

          • @noslappers: No obstacle avoidance on S5 Max as far as I know?

Initially I was refilling the MaxV mopping dock every four days with water but after the first mop they were pretty clean and really didn’t need as much water for mopping so I reduced the mopping wash interval and mop water flow in the app, which seems to reduce water refill to about once a week. I will probably look into whether I can reduce the mopping wash into further as the dirty water is not that dirty.

This is a lot better than the S5 Max which needed topping up with water after one and a half mops.

    • how? its $1600

      Me too pls!

      • I want to give it a go today, is the receipt still available?

Honestly not worth it, I regret mine, comparing it to my S5 thats worth like $200, vacuuming exactly the same, both wont pick up fine sand I found, mopping leaves marks everywhere, I know they can do them well under $1400 and still make a profit, so haggle hard :) I will say vacuuming is almost silent compared to my S5

Nice! In the spirit of Ozbargain do you have some proof? I'd love to try my luck geting this price

        • Hey @Fuzzy69, would it be possible to PM me too? Thanks!

        • Could I get a pic of it too? Thanks!

          • @Neyo01: FYI: For those who are looking to use this receipt to price match - As I was going to pick up my order, I was called by a rep saying they know this picture is circulating and that since I had ordered, they would honour the price for one hour only. I don't think this will work anymore.

          Thanks legend!

        • Hey @Fuzzy69, could you please share this with me as well? Thank you!

  • I tried this arvo and they said $1450 is best they could do. Without the gold service. Bit the bullet anyway. Needed to upgrade from the useless Viomi s9uv from previous obz deals.

    Hi Guys,

I believe you can get it cheaper, here's a quote I got for $1231 + 5 Years Gold Service for $169:
    https://ibb.co/W0712ZR

Don't forget JB and Good Guys is the same company so what I did was I purchased Coles Ultimate him gift cards, then got a friend who works at JB to buy it for me at an even better staff price!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/865939?page=1#comment

This works out to 10% off (Flybuys points converted to Coles $)

Cheers & good luck, to be fair though initial impressions, i like my old S5 better, the unit is so big and ugly, mopping left swirl marks all over my floor (the one reason I upgraded!) - I did read you need to vacuum heaps of times before 1st use but didnt think my place was that dirty! It is way more quiet the old unit and has virtual walls to split rooms which is nice I guess

    • Thanks for the upload of the docket! I haven’t opened mine up yet so I might return it and use your invoice for the same price.

      • Just a warning that this price might not be available anymore. I mentioned in a comment above that I also ordered on Sunday and they called me and gave me an hour to purchase at that price. Seems like they got a large number of people asking for that price and stopped it.

    • Amazing price thanks mate. Was able to get from my local store

    • anyone still able to get it for this price? what was the process to price match or negotiate to this price? I am keen on buying one this week if I can get it close to this price. thanks

      • Just call good guys price match the person i spoke with was very helpful

        • Which branch was it?

        • Thanks, call up the main sales line and got them to price matchz not sure if we got the same guy but he was super friendly and a great bloke to chat with

  • Dreame X40 ultra is $1750~ on the VIP TGGC which i would argue is a much better value for the $$$

What's the justification on the value statement? I'm going off the above review list but would love any input further

      • This is MaxV, mid tier robot.

        Dumber, doesnt clean as well.

X40 is top tier RRP 2800~

Its roborock equivalent currently is technically the S8 MaxV Ultra also RRP2800~

Hence why value proposition like Samsung FE vs the Ultra series for a little bit more coin

        • I think when getting up to that price point its pretty hard to justify the X40 is supposed to be great however

    • What's VIP TGGC?

      • Its the good guys commercial for a very few specific companies who get further discounts versus the standard TGGC. It's listed at $1900~ on the standard TGGC

        • Must be just for CBA employees I'm guessing.

Yeah I have access to normal TGGC store.
Having a very hard time deciding what to buy.
X40 Ultra seems ok but not sure whether I will notice $500-800 difference in real life compared to other mid tier options like Eufy X10 Pro Omni, Roborock Qrevo MaxV and Ecovacs T30 Pro.

          • @keejoonc: Ahh yeah, went through the same consideration lol.

Ended up just doing a buy once buy right versus regretting the few hundred extra lol.

But yeah I get it. It does look like mid range robots do exactly what you need it to and yoh dont know what extra you get paying more

            • @ramb9: I have contemplated throwing the Max V out the window so totally agree if you can justify the price go for the Eufy - I have no idea if any better though

            • @ramb9: If I could get the X40 Ultra for 1750, it would make my decision slightly easier but Narwal just released their Freo Z Ultra which looks good (except for carpet vacuum performance and edge cleaning).
