      • Ok this seems like the one to get! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g71E4gSDnic
finally ticks all boxes for me, ive got an OG S5 that needs an upgrade, the mop function never did a good job, seems its available in the states but wont ship to Australia, am I reading right that you cant add cleaning solution to it, unless you get the plumbed in dock? can you maybe just pour a bit in the water tank?

        • Just checked and this looks to be

$2699 pre-order price, which has now been taken down by roborock AU.

          Might just grab this instead…

          • @rambao9: Ouch! I cant justify $1500 let alone $2700, my most expensive possessions: house, car, robot vacuum cleaner, OLED TV, iPhone… just doesnt sound right!

            • @noslappers: Lol, I think I agree… just need to justify the external bag costs into this vacuum aswell…

    • I just got the deebot from aldi on Saturday. Its a bit shit. Gets stuck on furniture, floor transitions, charging cables, etc. The longest its run is 6 min before it gets stuck and yells for help. Its just easier to do it myself with the miele. I know more expensive ones have video analytics to avoid getting stuck so I think I will take it back and look to upgrade but my expectations of an expensive unit are very high.

  • What bout Eufy X10 Pro omni vs this one? Whats ur thoughts people

    • You can get the eufy around $1100 if you have the good guys commercial accounts.

      • I am thinking should i get this or the x10 i have commercial account

  • Is Roborock the best robot vac brand at the moment? Need some experts here.

  • +1

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. Coming from an S5 Max and Q7 Max this is a huge upgrade especially with mopping (hot mop, mop washing, spinning mop heads, articulating mop head gets into corners). Based on reviews of other Roborocks and other premium options I don’t think you’ll get better mopping on other models.

Vacuuming is also much quieter than our previous S5 max but just as effective. The raising mop head on carpets, app functionality and dock are also excellent upgrades.

We keep our floors clear so reviews that show the AI obstacle avoidance is subpar are not really relevant to me.

Overall, no issues and does everything better than I expected compared to reviews.

    • Thanks nice to hear some good feedback.

At this stage, do you know how long does one disposable bag last for you and how often are you vacuuming?

      • +1

After two weeks of daily vacuuming 80m2 it’s about 20% full. This is mostly tiled areas, no pets.

    • Did firmware upgrade not fix the terrible obstacle avoidance?

      • Maybe? We have no obstacles on the floor so I am not sure either way (this seemed like a big sticking point for the YouTube reviews I watched but utility of that function depends on your use case). If the latest reviews suggest so then I would go with that unless someone else has practical experience to report.

        • Was the avoidance worse then your S5 Max, as I have the original S5 and haven't experienced the magic of obstacle avoidance, I simply pick up things that could get stuck in the rollers such as cat toys and cables before vacuuming, how often are you mopping your place and how often are you then emptying and refilling the water containers??

          • @noslappers: No obstacle avoidance on S5 Max as far as I know?

Initially I was refilling the MaxV mopping dock every four days with water but after the first mop they were pretty clean and really didn’t need as much water for mopping so I reduced the mopping wash interval and mop water flow in the app, which seems to reduce water refill to about once a week. I will probably look into whether I can reduce the mopping wash into further as the dirty water is not that dirty.

This is a lot better than the S5 Max which needed topping up with water after one and a half mops.
