What does this smart watch do differently compared to say a an Apple watch or galaxy watch? What's so special feature with this watch? Genuinely curious?
Google purchased Fitbit. Therefore, you get both Google's smarts and Fitbit's fitness features. From what I understand, a lot of Fitbit features are behind a paywall now.
I am not the target buyer for this watch but this is what my understanding is.
Most of the same stuff as other top-end watches, including continuous heart rhythm checking and ECG testing that most mid-range models don't have. I guess the price and the Google guaranteed compatibility are the differentiators.
LTE (i.e. phone-free cellular connection) is a nice enough idea, especially for runners and such where carrying a phone is a pain, but be aware that it'll only work with the the main carriers direct, not the cheaper resellers. At least for now.
