A record low price on the new Global version of the Xiaomi Band 9 beating the previous deal two weeks ago. The last deal managed to become the highest seller in Australia and ranked 253rd globally during the last sale. We'll see how popular this one turns out, but I doubt we'll see the same popularity.

You must add "Color: Super Global Silver" or "Color: Super Global Black" to the cart.

  • Apply the coupons ALL3SEP and AUCD05 (or OZCD05) at checkout

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

  • 21-day Battery Life
  • 150+ Sports Modes

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

is this better then my apple watch ultra

    • +37

      Yes Battery lasts longer

    • +4

Yes, healthier for your budget & NO battery stress ( I only charge while in the shower & always ready for sleep/nap tracking ;)

    • Most probably

    • Nah, It pains me to admit that apple are the most accurate for almost every metric.

Obviously you already own the apple, but close second bests can be sussed out by checking out reported data by TheQuantifiedScientist on YT, no review of the mi band 9 quite yet but it's coming. Generally, some mi band models are okish considering the price, but very lacking compared to higher price/quality devices.

Every one I've bought has not lasted long before suffering some unfixable issue, I personally wouldn't buy another.

      • MKBHD has stated on his video review comparing the Pixel Watch 2 that the heart sensor was slightly more accurate than the Apple Watch Ultra. I haven’t seen any reviews of the Pixel Watch 3. The biggest downside is if you are caught in the web of the Apple Ecosystem, you really have no choice except buy an Apple Watch.

I love the Pixel Watch 2 (don’t own one but friend does) and he said the price increase to the Pixel Watch 3 must justify a lot considering how much more expensive it is.

Unless I switch to my Pixel 7 as my daily driver and that’s unlikely, then the Pixel Watch will work with the Fitbit app, but there is so much more to an Apple Watch.

Right now I’m sticking with my Charge 5 - I just want something to track health, movement and sleep, and doesn’t require charging every 24-36 hours (or less)

It's a great watch. Been buying all the versions from Band 2 to Band 8 currently wear it as a daily.

    Thanks Op

Do these improve much? I'm rocking a mi band 6 and it doesn't seem that much different spec-wise other than a longer battery life (which doesn't bother me much).

      • +2

It seems to have better tracking even when I take afternoon naps it tracks that well. The brightness was good in direct sunlight.

The only thing I wished it had was a payment function.

      • +1

I have the 6 as well, the 7 and up have automatic spo2 functionality.

      • +6

I have the Mi Band 8 and If I remember it right the major difference was the screen panel becoming 60hz which makes using the screen super smooth and also increased brightness which helps quite a bit when you are outdoors. Other than that the differences are very minor and incremental. There is nothing that will wow you.

      • No, but as another miband enthusiast (3>8Active currently) they get released just often enough and just cheap enough that you buy them even when you dont need the upgrade

I think they make good gifts for anyone looking to try out smartwatches too

      • The 6 & 7 are the last running on Zepp Life platform. M8 & 9 use a new software suite. Do your homework on that especially if you sync to 3rd party apps.

        • Mi Band 9 not even listed on Gadgetbridge

        • Do you meant to say the Zepp life software is better or worse than the newer software?

      • Big improvement from the 6 is auto screen brightness. I have this on my 8 and it's so damn good to go outside and have it ramp up, and then dim down indoors.
It's basic but a huge feature in the recent models over the 6.

    • +1

Howd you get it so quickly? I ordered it on the 23rd and its still in china

      • +1

        Same here

  • +9

    wen global NFC?

  • Good deal, I paid $51.37 (Blue) on the 19/08, so IMO this is kind of the normal price.

Been sitting on my desk BNIB since last week.

P.S The 8 was a POS, died in 6 months due to water ingress. If this goes the same way, farewell Mi Bands

  • Anyone else having inconsistent data transfer from Mi Fitness to Apple Health.

Eg. I can see a workout in the Mi Fitness app but Apple Health app doesn't show it.

    Intermittent fault but super annoying.

(using Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Active)

    • +1

Mi Band 7 Pro here, similar experience. Mi Fitness software is crap at background syncing and 3rd party data sharing for Google Fit via health connect.

    • +1

Zepp Life app is great, it has 4.3* while Apple Health 3.1* & it only works on subset of phones, while Zepp on most :)

      • +1

Second this, even their historical graph data is pleasant to read and use.

      • Are you using Zepp Life instead of Mi Fitness, and linking it with Apple Health?

  • +1

Last time I had a Mi Band, it couldn't display special characters in people's X and Instagram display names.
They would come up blank, or like corrupt character codes like this .
Had to get a cheap apple watch off ebay instead, as the mi band was unsuitable for social media notifications, cuz had no idea who was talking to me.

    • +44

Delete social media is the right option here

      • +5

        Best help desk right there

  • Just bought on Amazon local stock for $69, would they match this?

    • +3

They won't. Amazon does not have a price matching policy

  • Boy the step counters changed from Mi band 4 to 6.

I feel like the best mi band was mi band 2… and maybe 4.

    and possibly 6.

Now I'm not sure if it's even worth it to get the new ones since still no nfc or anything super useful like that.

App is still kinda ass but atleast yeah the battery life on these is so nice compared to my apple watch series 7 which i got for around $300…

I have mi band 6,4 and series 7.

Sucks that apple helath app ain't on android tho I found the medication tracking feature plus other features of that app useful.

    • I went from MiBand 4 to MiBand 8, and the screen was way brighter. Can now see the time when at the beach.

  • Would these be any good for a teen (first smart watch) ?

Given people seem to compare to Apple Watch I’m assuming running it on iOS phone is possible?

    • +1

More of a fitness tracker than smart watch.

      • More like SMART tracker (use the phone for productive work - I switch off BT most of the time ) than overpriced & Battery anxiety watch (I charge the watch ONLY while showering & always charged for Sleep Tracking - main function that the phone cannot do easily ;)

    • +3

      Pre teens - > Yes
Teens - > Maybe (depends on how fussy they is)

      • +1

        I see what you did there ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

  • +2

    i have the 8 version. it's brilliant!

  • Is there a brand we can use for a 6yo kid? I wouldn't mind buying one for my daughter. She really wants a watch lol

    • I'd buy this than a toy "smart" watch for kids. The battery life on my Band 8 has been amazing, I charge it every 14-15 days when it drops to 15%. The app allows you a degree of customization on the watch dials and there are plenty of fun cartoon/anime style ones to choose from.
I've used mine while swimming in the sea or showering and it's been trouble free, I can't imagine anything going wrong while your kid is wearing it.

    • I didn't get a MiBand for kids because the band isn't quite small enough. I bought them a BiggerFive one off Amazon. No problems with the BiggerFive ones - one band broke, but it was within 12 months so they sent me a whole new watch (because they were out of stock on the bands). When my kids get a bit older/bigger, I will just get them a MiBand because replacement bands are ~$3 on AliExpress, and can be replaced or swapped when they want to change colour.

      • cheers for the feedback. I'll get the biggerfive for now coz yeah i was worried her wrist would be too small for the miband.

    • +2

Buy for yourself & give the Apple watch to 6yr old - will be bored with daily charging & will give up, then will focus on real life. Double win ;)

      • Casio managed to work out how to put a solar panel in the screens of their digital watches years ago, you would think someone would try to put something similar into the OLED screens being used by many watches. I appreciate that you will never get enough charge from the Sun, and Casio can live off just a few mAh.

My Charge 5 usually gives me 5 - 7 days but Fitbit’s magnetic inductive charging it needs a solid 2 hours to get 99% maybe 10-15 minutes more to tick over to 100%.

Garmin can get 10-15 days depending on the model but Samsung, Google and Apple - do something about the battery PLEASE!!

    The price looks good

I am not sure how many Asians using this band. Can anyone advice if this one can show Chinese and notification from Wechat?

  • showed as 36.86 USD for me. Cannot add AUCD05 (or OZCD05) coupon

    • i just tried again and the OZCD05 works now. I ordered 1 paid AUD50.16 via Revolut

  • Great deal. Bought one but AUCD05 (or OZCD05) are no longer working.

  • ALL3SEP code works. Thanks Op ordered. Was going to order from amazon as its next day shipping, but ordered a screen protector too

  • $109.59 for 2, including tax. $54.80 each with tax with 2 coupons and going through MasterCard. PayPay would have added $6 more.

  • Do these notify a contact if their heart rate goes awry?

  • thanks, didnt realise i needed one.

well hopefully it doesnt shit itself like the withings scan watch.

  • Considering the reliability issues ive had with the Band 8, i think ill wait until amazon start selling this one for a little bit more….

    • +1

They are for $69.99 at the moment with next day shipping

      • Thanks for the tip - didnt realise they were on the site already!

        • I was going to and even though I like Ali, shipping can either be quick or long. But I wanted a few others from Ali so worked out ok.

  • I have been wearing this for a month now, with heartrate tracking always on and all that sleep analysis thingy, the battery lasts about 12-14 days depending on how busy I am.

The only thing that is half-working is syncing sleep data to Apple Health, it only shows 'time in bed' but not the detailed cycles of a sleep. You can however check all the sleep data in the Mi fitness app. If they fix that I'd say it's a perfect fitness tracker. Apple Watch's battery life is just dreadful.

    • The sleep tracking is the worst of any watch or device for fit band 8 according to a review so it would be extortionary if it's suddenly good on version 9, but it apparently does accurately track when you fall asleep at beginning of night and wake in morning, but I"m also interested in waking up at night and the various sleep stages

  • Does the tilt to watch suck like on the 8? If so skip

  • Any way with this or something similar to quickly pause music easily while at work wearing safety gloves?

  • are they genuine? A lot of Aliexpress items says Xiaomi, but ended up being knock offs.

    • This store is legit and I haven't seen any fake Xiaomi Band 9's yet.

    • the fake ones say Xioami

  • The store has code "7ALL39" which give US$7 off US$39. You could get 2pc of flim and strap for US$33.93 using codes "7ALL39" and "ALL3SEP".

  • Band 8 is $25.66 via Big Save?

  • Thanks OP ordered one

  • Anyone receive theirs yet? Mine has been stuck for over a week on “depart from transit country or district”.

  • Yep was pretty quick, mine was delivered from NSW
