here to see the comment from others. i did received the last round from econnex where they issued double the gift cards but no quick enough to spend it. no issue to get the gift cards in the previous experience. checking the t&c, there is no mention on any restriction on previous users within xx months for gift card eligibility so i might try again soon.

They are still recovering from the $800 gift card mistake instead of $400 ($200+$200).

The people who used the cards immediatly were the smartest, im sure many did and econnex got hit hard with a significant loss

Whats the best way to save energy bills? Churn these offers?

  • +1

Tariff is literally double what I'm paying, no wonder they can give away so many $$$ lol

    • +2

Just collect the welcome bonus and CC and then switch back again.

Have any AGL customers received their quarterly rebate from the federal government yet?

    • +1

      I am still waiting

    • Should see the first set come through starting now (for what I have been told).

    • +1

I got it, billed last week

    • Check your account, you will find it there. Mine was added 10 August

      • Ah yes, so it is. Added 20 August (my billing date is 18 August).

    • How much was it?

  • Is there a deadline for when you need to activate by? Can I sign up and activate at the end of the year? Currently waiting for the qualification of a current offer.

  • I assume you can double dip with welcome offers if the energy supplies are offering ?

    • +5

Yes, you can stack with Engie $200 credit for electricity and $200 credit for gas

      • I'm sure someone has answered this somewhere, but if you collected Simply energy welcome credit in the last 12 months, does that mean you can't collect Engie?

        • Did you get an answer to this?

  • Do we need to stay with the new provider for several months before the gift cards are sent out?

  • +2

In my experience, I had received the 400 bucks MasterCard gift card once 3 billing cycles were over (post 90 days) although the unit price is pretty high for engie. So you might end up paying a little extra once your credits are over.

  • Reasonable rates, still using up credit and getting free electricity after switching to Momentum though :D

  • Any way to combine Shopback $210 with gift card $250?

From clicking through via each promo, they appear to have difference 'rcCode' fields, not sure if that is the relevant tracker or if they could be joined.
    shopback: rcCode=25556
    vs giftcard: rcCode=83580

Damn….I needed this to come out next month…haha

Just signed up to the below a week ago. Have to stay with them for 30 days to get the $150 credit and $50 mastercard.

    https://www.powershop.com.au/p/one-big-switch

    • Yeh I missed out too, have you got the $50 Mastercard gift card yet ?

      • Nope. I've only been with Powershop for 10 days. You have to stay with them for a minimum of 30 days before they'll send out the $50 mastercard. I think they said it can take up to 90 days. I'm not expecting it anytime soon.

        • up to 90 days , damn…. basically not worth staying if there is another $150 plus credit offer

          • @strikerzebra: You don't get the $150 credit at Powershop until the first bill at the end of the month, so in my case, it's basically a free month as my bill is normally around $150 anyway.

Then you can leave and find another deal as you've met the 30 days requirement. You don't need to hang around waiting for them to send the $50 card…..it will be sent eventually.

  • I have over $1000 in credit with AGL thanks to the gov and in QLD, what happens when I switch away?
Does that credit goes to the new provider or I get a cash payment or I will lost them? (hope it's not that)
Sorry if it's been asked before.

    • When switching retailers, any leftover credit will be refunded to the customer as part of the transfer process.

I just left OVO. They asked me for my BSB/ACC and sent the $1200 credit back to my bank next day.

      Thank you both!

  • Is only gift card or gift + cashback from shopback etc?

  • How long do you have to stay on these plans? Just say that will receive gift cards after 90-120 days and that you can't cancel before 30 days of activation. I would assume staying for 30 days is enough and then you can churn?

  • So, by going to the following link, we can choose any provider to get the Gift Cards?

    https://www.econnex.com.au/energy-offer

  • Does this offer include signing up on the 6th?
I would like to clarify something with my current provider tomorrow before making the move.

Thank you, great timing. Just done with AGL with their 225$ bonus and got my first $75 from government as well. Signed up now with Engie, hoping to get $150 from econnex and 200$ from Engie.

  • I tried to sign up but Powershop are not sending the verification code so I cant

  • Do we suppose to receive an email or notification about the sign up once it is submitted? It has been 6 hours and i have not received anything at all.

    • I got a signup confirmation email from econnex immediately

      • When i submitted the application, i did get a onscreen confirmation that it was submitted successfully with a reference number, but no email has been received. Unless i gave out wrong email.

  • Just switched gas only to Engie in my wife's name. Next meter reading is 2+ months away.
    Hope the $200 + $100 comes through :)

  • Just want to share my experience with AGL, they called me and offer me another $225 credit and offer me a new rate lower than my previous good plan with them, so i have decided to stick with them considering i will be excluded with any welcome bonus with AGl for 12 months. Saving Engie and econnex for the next churn.
