  • It's not $7.40 for me I'm still in Sydney and standard is $10.50

      Thanks
Removed delivery cost. Buyers to confirm their own price at checkout. Seems like it varies a lot.

  • If you're thinking of this for pcvr, consider the quest 3s should be out by end of this month and will likely be this price or cheaper

    • I have both the quest 3 with quest pro controllers (not the crappy stock controllers) and the psvr 2 with of adapter u have to say though psvr 2 has a wider FOV and for steam vr has almost zero latency unlike the quest 3 for pc. That being said depending on the games u play quest 3 does good in games like Pavlov and games where u are 360 degree turning. Where is I find psvr to be good in games like pistol wipe and racing. Even fly sims.

      • quest 3 link cable = <5ms latency no?

        • the psvr 2 has a more direct video connection has virtually 0 latency, where is the quest 3 has to process the video so there is some latency even on a cable.

      • Calling the stock controllers crappy is a pretty big call. You get perhaps 100 hours of battery life, and many people use it well on Beat saber etc. You'll need to backup the latency claims as I don't believe that is true.

The pro controllers have their own problems too, which would be part of having a camera and poor battery life…

        https://www.rufftalkvr.com/blog/the-meta-quest-pro-controlle…

It's a hard call where if you could choose between a Q3 or PSVR2, that you go for a PSVR2.

A big part of that is lower weight (515gm vs 560gm on the PSVR2) and the option to do standalone games along with Wireless streaming

John Carmack himself spoke about how Wifi Steaming (Steamlink, Virtual Desktop et all), can be good enough for many people.
        https://www.uploadvr.com/quest-wifi-streaming-potential/

The convenience of having no cables tethering you? pretty nice.

        • once you try Quest pro controllers you will wonder why you bothered trying to use the stock controllers. they are night and day in tracking the closest thing even better in some cases to inside out tracking becuase both controlers have there own cameras on them there is no need for the headset to track the controllers.
I have been using the quest pro controllers for about a year now and I can't fault them at all even in games, there is never a time where the controller sails off into space when it looses tracking. Yes I am a expert player in beatsaber and that maybe be the main reason why i got the good controllers, but even in games like pavlov I can have the controller up to my cheak and aim with a gun, could never do thsi with at the stock controllers. The one thing i don't get about the psvr 2 is they are able to provide a better tracking experience and keep up in games like beat staber even at expert. The PSVR 2 controllers use similar tracking tec to the quest and yet they seem to track better than the quest 3 stock controllers that i have tested.

        • It depends on the type of games you’d play with these headsets. With iRacing for example, forum members have found a 60ms difference between the PSVR2 with adapter compared to a Quest 3 with the link cable, or 70ms difference compared to the Quest 3 with a wireless connection. Lower latency than even a directly wired G2

Damn still dropping they must of had a crap tonne of un sold stock

    • +6

Not surprised considering the initial RRP

This is getting super close to being tempting. Would be nice to have a use for my PS5.

  • +1

I'm in as soon as we get a good deal on GT7

  • Would EB games price match ?

  • +5

Anybody that owns one of these have you used it more than 3 times? I’m tempted to get one to experience VR as I’ve never tried it but I just feel like this will be a “wow look how cool this is let’s put it back in the cupboard and never use it again” experience

    • +1

VR is great for prawn. Go from there.

      • 😂 in that case wireless would be the best option

      • Lol

    • I can't speak to this headset but i have over 3000 hours between my vive and index. the number would be higher but i've worn out both my headsets and need to buy a third.

      • Wdym worn out…

        • straps, mounting points, cables and connectors all wear out on VR headsets if you use them enough. it's not a keyboard sitting on your desk, it's something strapped to your head that is constantly under changing forces.

          • @JigBew: yeah well can't you replace the head strap atleast…?

            • @AndrewMTG: I'ce replaced head straps, cables, made about 7 different repairs to controllers myself (they mostly work), had light houses die. My VR kits have seen war, i'm done repairing these and ready to move on to a new kit to destroy over the next 1800 hours of gameplay.

              • @JigBew: both of those htc?

my only expeirnce is w my quest 2 and besides my third party strap being a bit annoying at times and Fallin off it's mostly fine!

i have I'm guessing less than 500 hrs tho.

                • @AndrewMTG: htc vive and valve index. The vive was far tougher than the index, but the index was far nicer in every way. both headsets were fine for at least the first 500 hours but controllers for both kits had issues early, one index controller had issues maybe 60 hours in, a valve lighthouse died maybe 4 days in. also while the original vive cable was the worst to use, it lasted over 1600 hours including being run over by a chair multiple times in a sim rig. credit where credit is due, the vive was without a doubt insane value for how many hours i got out of it. its the nokia 3310 of VR for me. the only thing i've had no issues with are the original htc lighthouses which spun for almost 7 years non stop minus moving house to house and the small time i used valve's light houses.

                  • @JigBew: what do you think you're next headset will be?

i belive i tried a valve index very briefly at a convention but besides that only experince w my quest 2 lol.

What games do you play ?

I haven't played many vr titles.

Beatsaber is cool tho I originally brought it wanting to play that a lot as a form of exercise but haven't done that much at all actually.

                    • @AndrewMTG: Probably a pimax crystal super. I'd get the light but i want the eye tracking.

I've played a lot of pavlov, DCS, beat sabre, pistol whip, vermillion, half life alyx, a bunch of other titles i have under 10 hours in. Pistol whip is a good exercise one to mix things up from beat sabre. i've noticed a significant difference in tightness in my upper body, especially shoulders since stopping pistol whip/beat sabre. i was going to hold off until the next valve headset but i actually think the health benefits of VR warrant the investment sooner rather than later. I'm physically active outside but the range of motion these games encourage without making it feel like a chore..

                      • +1

@JigBew: yeah haha that last sentence, since it's a game doesn't really feel like exercise whilst gettin the benefits aye!

    • +1

purchased it at launch, and still play it weekly (if I have the time). I choose to play this over flat-screen games now. No regrets even at the initial price.

      • What games are good?
I had nausea from the PSVR1, would it be similar for VR2? Or has the tech improve on this?

        • +4

VR Nausea is something you need to train your brain out of. More you use it, the less bad it will be.

          • @Ruddaga: for me I had no issue

guess it's luck of the draw.

But yeah supposedly u can train ur brain to get used to it! Just play till u get sick rest and repeat and slowly the brain should get used to it

        • +1

Better tracking, frame rates, proper IPD setup help. some people are sensitive to not enough stereo overlap. Getting used to it is definitely an option but there are reasons some people have a bad experience beyond just not being used to it it. also don't start with a virtual roller coaster. no artificial locomotion to start and ease into it.

    • +1

If you play racing games, mostly with a wheel, this is a no brainer for PS5, and I play it a few times per week for the last year. Occasionally I play other games.

    • Played a fair bit of beat Saber on and off, it's great. Also have horizon call of the mountain which is stunning, having said that, putting a headset on is enough of a pain that I'm not in a rush to do it, so I don't use it very often

    • I use mine on PS5, but spend more time playing in VR than on the TV these days. 140 odd hours in No Man's Sky since starting that earlier this year and most of that in VR.

About the only game I've put a lot of time into flat this year is Helldivers with friends.

Seems like the discounted price has finished this morning? Not just gamesmen but at all retailers that I checked. Feels like it was only on special for about a week?

    • yes all other countries around the world are back to rrp…
My guess is you will have to wait till boxing day sales

  • expired
this was a glitch as the sale price was supposed to end yesterday

so the glitch was sale price + 10%off which is now patched :p

    Pass. I'll bite at $350 - $400

Don't forget to check Everyday Rewards for bonus points offers.

I have a 1500 bonus points on $100 Everyday Market spend offer showing in the app.

    • I went through this method just now. Hope it works!!!

      • +2

just tracked for me, what a price.

        • Mine hasn't tracked yet but once it does it will be awesome. I just hope they don't consider everyday rewards points as gift cards

          • @maverickjohn: Can you guys report back later if your order gets shipped and cleared cashback
            @GUYANDSON

            • @neosin: @neosin got tracking, looks like it will be shipped out tomorrow

              • @GUYANDSON: thanks, please post back in 3 months, interested to see if they will pay you the cashback as I've had issues with shopback in the past

              • +1

@GUYANDSON: Mine still didn't get tracked.. have to wait until December before I find a result.. not ideal . I'm not sure what to do with my order.
As an FYI I think people should avoid using brave browser. To do these cashback deals. It happened with top cashback but they were quick to rectify.
Now it happened with shopback but 3 months for a resolution is crazy.

            • @neosin: My VR is coming today but cashback has yet to track :(
I'll keep it sealed until tomorrow to see what happens

              • @maverickjohn: Normally they always should track within 1h, if after 48h then probably a no go :(

                • @neosin: @gotyourback mentioned that it should track within 48 hours. But to raise a claim if I don't see a response

    • +1

Party over? Shows as $892.95 for me

      • Yeah they increased the price. Party over :(

        • +1

Thank you for listing it though. After crticising Gamesmen in the other psvr2 deal. You still found the best deal through them (and shopback) really appreciate it.

  • +1

Don't let Quest 3 buyers trick you, this is a higher quality VR experience. PS5 graphics are better and PC adapter gives unlimited uses.
