  • This is standard modus operandi for Digiarty products.

    • but it now has ai as a prefix, so it must be good!

Nothing is ever free. So I wonder what's the catch?

The Aiarty website has no address or details
I note that the domain aiarty.com is registered in Iceland, but the domain Digiarty.com is registered in Sichuan, China.

So why is Digiarty trying to hide their location?

Digiarty say on their website that they "may access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served" on (them) by Chinese Government and Law Enforcement.

This train of thought led me to these articles:
"China seeks to harvest user data from global apps to boost propaganda efforts"
    https://www.aspistrategist.org.au/china-seeks-to-harvest-use…

"Leaked hacking files show Chinese spying on citizens and foreigners alike"
    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/leaked-hacking-files-show…

So, if you're going to use Chinese software, protect yourself. Use a false name and a burner email. Use network monitoring software like Glassware on Windows or Little Snitch on the Mac.

Think about whether you work in an organisation that is vulnerable to hacks eg health, finance, technology etc.

    • It only asked for an email and the code, I typed and random email and activated fine. Did not ask for a name. Not sure if it is spying though.

  • Anyone tried installing this in WINE in Linux?
