Has anyone converted these to a digital photo frame with maybe a raspberry pi connected to it?

    • No touch screen on the ZSUS.

You can get this from Amazon for $179 with coupon: https://amzn.asia/d/fpLwNiA.

I have one. Haven't tried it yet. Been meaning to get root access to uninstall the junk software. It's in a pile of other projects I haven't gotten around to doing.

      • Cool thanks.

      • A tad cheaper at $169.99 right now

  • Any idea if this is further stackable with the other AliExpress coupons?

Just the code, plus coins and cashback.

  • Any good external monitor which scale well with mac? I bought 17inch 2K but it doesn’t scale properly.

    • +5

Try out BetterDisplay and see if it'll sort out the scaling.

Love the technology! It’s wild to think what we can get in a few years. Good option for portability. May get one for my ally’s+ mobile for portable gaming….should hav just bought a laptop lol

  • How do you get USD76.04? I got USD81.04.

    Any good large screen options?

Been waiting for a good 18" or 18.5" high refresh rate deal as well. Clear, can you weave your magic?

ZSUS lmao. I hope Asus sues them.

      Clear, time for your meme!

    • Do you work for ASUS?

  • +1

Have one from a previous deal.
… It… works. However, pull the signal cable, reconnecting - shows it has kept the colour settings, although the tone/colour balance is no longer as per user settings.
Switch from the user colour settings to a pre set colour setting, then back to the user setting and the user settings are lost/reset.

Aliexpress special i guess, but it otherwise works fine for what it is.

    • Hey mate, so did I. Received on Thursday or something but just opened it. Will wait until the afternoon to apply screen protector and use it.

I was just wondering, to summarise what you said, it just doesn't retain save data/config so not ideal if you're someone who likes to finic with the finer colours of the screen? Might be okay for me, I don't mind shuffling the offered presets but won't usually adjust a user profile to get it perfect.

  • Have bought multiple of these off AliExpress, one of this brand even, NONE of them have worked over Type-C. They all required HDMI.

Tried multiple devices - multiple laptops, phones, etc.

They're still good - but just a warning if you're expecting 1 cord magic, it won't happen. Minimum is USB-C power + HDMI cord. Passthrough power DOES work.

Also OP is wrong - they can't be powered off older 2.5w (5V 0.5a) USB ports - they randomly flicker / turn off and on. Requires at least a newer port. My testing shows they pull about 3.3w.

p.s. have also purchased 2 touch models and returned both as touch didn't function with any devices I tried..

While I haven't tested this model personally my Uperfect and MagicRaven (from Amazon) both work over USB-C using my phone and tablet.

A touchscreen will definitely require an extra input.

      • I've specifically tested a ZSUS and had issues with it, Aliexpress denied my return too.

        • +1

I guess I'll have to get one and test it. USB 3.0 port will draw the required amount. USB 2.0 obviously not for maximum brightness if it needs 3.3w for that.

          • @Clear: Oh are you talking about power? Yeah power works fine on later USB ports, not older USB 2.0 ports.

Display I've never had work on any USB ports, including USB-C 3.2 and Thunderbolt. They make various claims in their listings, but it still never works.

If that's functionality you require don't risk AliExpress - buy an Amazon one so you can keep returning until you find one that actually works with a single cable (no HDMI).

    • Yep just received mine and USB C does not work, seems like USB C port can only be used for power.

Its fine for my needs as I connect a Chromecast to the HDMI port anyway and it becomes a digital photo frame.

The colour uniformity and backlight is very good, at least the one I got. No noticeable backlight bleeding on the edges and viewing angles very good.

Worth getting even with the USB C not being operational for video.

      • Yeah I'm not unhappy with it for the price tbh, but just wanted to warn anyone thinking USB-C works

  • Came to $121.49 after taxes, shipping was free. The coupon knocked off $5 and my coins knocked off $1.15. I've been keeping an eye out for a half decent 144hz portable without breaking the bank, hoping this will do the job. Thanks OP.

  • Apart from the refresh, any thoughts on this:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0CFPNWJBZ

$109.98. Safer to buy through Amazon?

    • I got the one above. Perfect over usb c for video and power.

  • OP, we should use the other coupon code with the higher purchase price, eg. OZCD12 which takes US$8 off.

    Thanks

    • Looks like they changed the price.
