    Holy!

    • +2

Missed that one because I was still a trial member, they won't offer me.

      • +2

Yep me too. There was no discussing it with them. Felt like I was talking to the Gestapo.
I mean a trial member is a trial member… trialing the service. You'd think they'd be just fine to lock in a browsing potential customer.

    • Just hodl and keep making free accounts until then.

    • Managed to setup a future renewal at that price during this deal.

      • +4

Would you mind sharing how you managed this, Cheers.

  • +1

Will this work for an expired membership? It says not available to "existing members".

    • +8

This is literally explained in the post.

      • +3

"existing members" is explained. But are those with an expired membership considered an "existing member"?

        • +3

Yes, you are still a member, just one who failed to pay their membership fee. Just open a new account with a new email or the + trick.

        • +4

Yes they are. I once cancelled my subscription hoping to resub during a previous deal. I even contacted support if they can just apply the discount but no dice.

    • +5

I had the same question, so I checked my account and there is a $20/year option in the renewal screen. But there is no free trial.

  • +9

Outlook.com and 365 accounts (depending on whether your admin enabled/disabled it) also support plus addressing - it's not a Gmail exclusive feature https://www.msoutlook.info/question/886

I believe iCloud supports it as well.

So you can use [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected] - no need to sign up for Gmail just for the plus addressing

    • I tried this but got stuck with needing a new mobile number as well. Unless I am missing something.

      • +2

Actually ignore…just saw the number unlinking tip in OP's post.

      • +1

yeah, youll need a throwaway number to link with your outgoing account so you can reuse your usual one with a new account.

    • Oh yeah, I forgot but you're right.
Even better for outlook or skiff.

    • +1

dude this is so cool about multiple aliases on microsoft mail accounts - feeling enlightened! thankyou.

    • +1

      Ooh, TIL! Thanks

  • +1

Welp my OP is still active til mid October from last year’s deal, if I deactivate it means I’d be losing ~7weeks worth of the current sub?
If thats the case should I just wait it out and see closer to end date if there’s another OP deal then?

    • +1

Yeah, you could probably wait. There seems to be at least 1 of these deals per quarter it seems. If not Oct, maybe Nov before xmas.
Can't say for sure though. You know, past performance not a guarantee of future stuff.

      • I mean there surely is gonna be a pre-BFri deal… last year was riddled with those deals hah

        • +1

You dont lose anything, I cancelled mine a few months ago (attempting to get an earlier $12 re-sub and failed).

          Mine still shows:

          We've cancelled your membership
          Your benefits will end on
          28 October 2024

having said that, I currently can't re-sub the same account. Presume until the 28th ticks over :(

          • @nismo: Looks like you misunderstand “cancelling subscription vs deactivating account”
Cancelling sub: you’ll still get your 365days worth of access even if you cancel it earlier than that.
Deactivating acc: completely deleting the account regardless whether you have a currently active/expired subscription.

            • @noelhoi: Any reason one might opt for the latter?

              • +1

@Luigy: Well.. if you previous have paid for OP, u cannot be considered a “new account” to get the deal in this post.
Refer to above how to deactivate current account (linking it to a burner number firstly) and re-subscribe with new account using your main mobile number.

      • 7 weeks is approximately worth $5 (assuming $40/year), so effectively you will pay $25 if you get this deal. It's up to you if $25 instead of $40 is a good deal (we also had $12 deals in the past).

        • +3

Hand over your ozb license if u paid $40 😀

          • +2

@noelhoi: I didn't, but when calculating the "value" of a deal you should use the RRP as the base. Otherwise most deals are worth $0 because there is usually a better or equivalent previous deal.

    • Deal seems to run to 22 sep…

    • Offer ends 22 Sept 2024 so only losing 2-3 weeks?

      • +1

True, but still hodling hopes for $12 sub 🤣

  • +7

worth it just for ordering single pens from officeworks

  • +2

After cancelling my current subscription a few months ago I still can’t resubscribe, it just says “we’ve cancelled your membership”. No way to resubscribe even at full price, or cancel my cancellation which takes effect next month.

    • Hence the need to create a new account. You'll have to manage your current account (even if no active subscription) to unlink the mobile number you usually use if you intent to use it in the new account.

      • +1

Fair, but my sub is still active I’ve just cancelled renewal. And I wasn’t looking to do this deal, just commenting that their system is weird - I can’t even “uncancel” or resub with my account if I wanted to

        • +1

I agree. Sometimes they offer discounted renewal if you cancel, sometimes not. I made the same mistake previous deal when I cancelled and could not uncancel when they didn't offer the thing.

    • My current membership is ending mid Sep and I cancelled it a few days ago.

I just followed OP's instructions, changed to a new phone number and new email address. Then I clicked on the link in OP to sign up again using the original email and phone number, worked like a charm. But, all the transactions and flybuys card are gone so its almost like a new account

      • +2

Any issues linking the new OnePass account to all the brand accounts that previously already had your old OnePass?

        • No problem with Kmart and Target, having issues now with Catch and Bunnings lol

          • +1

@firestint: So need to make sure to unlink the brand partners separately first before deactivating?

            • +1

@noelhoi: But I can't find instructions to unlink any of the partners, might ask helpdesk later

              • +1

@firestint: So I messaged OnePass for help, basically we need them to reach out to Kmart, Bunnings and Priceline to unlink OnePass. We have to reach out ourselves to unlink Office Works and Bunnings.

No idea why they made it so complicated.

          • @firestint: Officeworks was an absolute pain to change before when it was first added to Onepass (accidentally linked to the wrong Officeworks account)

Took em months and active debugging with their staff

        • Each one has a different oauth method. I gave up hassling target in the end. This was for a new account and none of the shenanigans here of aliased emails.
There fraud system I believe would trigger and stop it. Probably too many aliased newsletters for $10.

  • +4

    Thanks op

I also got the offer in my account as an existing (inactive) member

    • Same! Thanks OP!

  • -1

Would be great if Bunnings allowed shipping from specific stores eg I want an item that has lots of stock in Launceston but almost none in NSW. They will only ship from the DC though. Repco allows you to order from specific stores.

    • You mean specific stores in the same State or Australia-wide? I know in NSW you can order from a specific store, just have to set your store as the store you want to buy from.

  • +4

$800 spend required to breakeven with the 5x flybuys
save anyone else doing the math

    • +11

I don't think that's a fair calculation. You're not including the benefit of having free shipping with no min spend.

      • This, plus the time saved from going to the store for a click and collect. For $20 a year i don't need to fill out an online cart with X min spend to get free delivery, or spend on delivery at all, no need to go to the store wasting time and fuel.

        • I had 6 orders cancelled in a row using onepass.
All below the normal min spend (without onepass).
          Maybe a coincidence.
          Maybe not.

    • +8

It's $1000 spend to break even because you should only count the additional 4 flybuys points per dollar since you already get 1 point per dollar for free.

Also, it's only for in-store transactions which kind of defeat the point of having free delivery.

  • +2

    Get a throwaway number/sim

Anyone care to explain how this could be done?

  • +1

I got this deal last November and it's definitely paid for itself in that time!

  • I’m an existing member but cancelled my subscription. My membership cancels on 14th of September.
    1. If I use the method and deactivate my account do I lose receipts from Bunnings etc? Anything I miss out on?

    • You'd still be considered as an existing member. You'd need to sign up with a new email to get promo.
You might also lose those receipts so I would suggest downloading a copy first.

    • Wait until 15th September.
Offer should show up when you hit renew.

    • Good question. You would hope it's tied to an email address.
Surely the bunnings registers can lookup a phone number or email if you truly get stuck

  • got it from the EOF sale $24 for 2 years. Haven't used it much this year. I used a lot last year

  • +4

Ok everyone, some important info for those that have an expired trial or whatever account what can't get this to work.

I had an expired trial account from a few months back and it wouldn't let me take up this offer - the usual errors… account exists, number already registered etc etc.

I can't 100% remember what exact steps I took but basically log in to my account and on the main page, clicked on the white area up the top (same area as in my imgur link) that summarises your account… where it says 'expired' (or maybe it said 'renew' - I can't recall). Point is, click on that and it loads a page with renewal options and one of them is the $20 offer. Just select it and pay - done.

    • Mine is stuck in the cancelling status. No joy with this. Assume its as the account you had wasn't active.

  • I need a bit of help. After I change my number to another burner number. How do I deactivate my one pass account?

What’s the point of creating + email account? Is it to save existing info?

    For example [email protected].
I used [email protected] —-> am I doing it right?

    • Yup, that's right. You leave your old Onepass account behind. Point is you'll get to use the same email inbox.

      • What if we just change the current email and phone number to burner email/ phone number and sign up again using new email and existing mobile number?

Is it cause we have linked up the Bunnings Kmart etc account to one pass account?

I’m a bit confused on the benefits of using existing email address.

  • +1

I got onepass on the $20 deal and I've definitely made my money back in shipping! Very useful if you don't have Bunnings etc super close. For me the main benefit is free shipping - but worth it just for that.

    • Definitely! I have a Bunnings nearby, but i still but stuff and have them shipped, takes about 2 days, and i don't have to spend extra at the delicious sausage sizzle near the entrance

      • +2

Get your money's worth by taking your delicious sausage and bun into the garden centre and adding fresh herbs …

  • I took up the $20 offer last time to join but also there was a flybuys reward $20 worth of points to join so actually I joined for zero, clicking on the flybuys and then using the code to get it for $20, so I'd be waiting to see what flybuys are doing.

  • +1

Dam, I need to cancel my current pass as I barely bought anything

  • +4

    For awareness, delivery observations:

    • Target does not offer free delivery on clearance items (Kmart does, so for Anko you can go to them)
    • Kmart is slow to handle, popular items often cancelled
    • Priceline now added, but many people receive expired or low expiry goods
    • +1

I got a delivery from Priceine through OnePass. Use by date is June 1025.

      • +14

Proving my point - nearly 1000 years old! ;) Honestly though, numerous reports on here of the issue (including myself). Staff at some stores are obviousy not checking dates.

        • Silly me. Good comment.

    • Also, Officeworks does not offer free delivery for OnePass members on:

      • Selected items (e.g. bulky items).
      • Any items being delivered to a postcode classified by Officeworks as “rural”.
    • I really don't know how Kmart can make any money with OnePass. The most inefficient shipping I've ever seen, order a few small items and despite stock check saying all in stock at the closest Kmart(s) they send split orders from different stores all over the state.

  • How to unlink OnePass form Bunnings?

    • +1

I don't believe you can. At least, I couldn't. You'll just end up with another Bunnings account with the new email associated with OnePass. That said, I would suggest downloading your receipts for warranty purposes.

  • +4

Still on the fence if this actually worth it. If not taking a subscription means avoiding unnecessary purchases I might as well sit on the fence.

    • -1

You could look at it as passive income.
i.e. If you regularly spend ~$60 a week at Coles, then with the extra 4 points per dollar, that's ~$60 a year back in points, for a $20/year subscription. So $40 for doing nothing more than your normal shop. That's like 20 boost sim deals with none of the effort of having to activate/cancel/repeat.

      • well that's an interesting way to look at but I don't shop at coles regularly and if I am not wrong coles in not part of onepass. So I am not sure how you made up this example. The 5x flybuys points does not apply for coles.

        • +1

My bad. I don't use onepass (with exception of the 1 month free trial).
Please read the above as "If you spend as little as $20/week at a combination of Bunnings, Kmart, Target, and Officeworks, then you are already $0.80 ahead"

    • +3

With two young daughters I love my OnePass sub. Cheap replacement clothing, undies, toiletries etc.
Kid comes home with ripped leggings, another pair is on the way with free shipping. Daughter gets invited to a birthday party? Boom, some cheap anko shit is on it's way.

I hate going into Kmart so it's def been worth my money.

  • +1

Thanks for the reminder to cancel my OnePass subscription from the last time they offered it for $20!

    • nice

  • What is the difference between their standard returns policy and the onepass returns policy? I thought you can already return unused items at Bunnings due to change of mind.

    • Yes, OnePass doesn't list Bunnings on their 365 day return policy page - https://onepass.com.au/benefits/365-day-returns

    • +1

There's caveats on the 365 day returns too (rather than retype heres my old comment).
You also need an active subscription (supposedly needed to be proved by showing a live login) so if you don't renew you'll only get 365 days for purchases on day 1.

  • Guys I’ve done everything to the letter but can’t find out how you can deactivate your current account.

Edit: I can’t get any email verify from OnePass as of last 2 hours.

  • Hang on. So you don't get 5* points at Coles? Pffffft.

  • So first year isn$20, then how much for future year2, …… etc

    • normally $40. you can cancel your subscription before it ends. If they're offering a similar promo by then, there is a chance that they'll offer a discounted renewal. no guarantees tho.

  • Wife is a member but obviously dont reward loyalty.

    • yeah, it's based on luck. Some get offered discounted renewal when you attempt to cancel, some jist gets straight cancelled with no offers. In the latter case, just create a new account.

  • What if we just change the current email and phone number to burner email/ phone number and sign up again using new email and existing mobile number?

Is it cause we have linked up the Bunnings Kmart etc account to one pass account?

I’m a bit confused on the benefits of using existing email address.
