I don't think the perks voucher should be in the title.

      Nutribullet brand or no-name similar?

      • Yep it’s called superblend 1000

        • Yep to the first, or the second?

The Aldi version looks identical to the Smith + Nobel branded blender from Harris Scarfe… Same specs too.

    • Nice

      Link please

    • Last time this was mentioned it had 2 girls.

    • In other news Toyota is releasing a Camry alongside the Supra.

    • Anyone (me) who is looking to buy a blender with the milling attachment, the Aldi one does not come with the milling attachment … the NutriBullet one does, there's a few more "things" that come with the Nutribullet.

Not related to the deal, but as I long time Nutribullet user I highly recommend the Nutribullet Pro. The newer screw on blender base is way more reliable, doesn't leak and is easier to clean.

I've temporarily gone back to this older version while I'm overseas, and it's not great. Also the same smoothies I make at home on my pro, are strangely more gluggy with the less powerful base level nutribullet.

    • Got this from Costco due to lots of smoothie drinkers in the house. Hope it's good. We haven't used it yet.

  • Which one is better compare this one with Ninja Blender Pro?

It's hilarious that a blender uses more power than a PC with a 4090 unless I'm missing something.

This will be easier to clean after making a thickshake.

A heater uses 2400W (the max you are going to get on normal power outlet), it is going electricity to heat. The point of computers isn't to waste energy or create mechanical energy like a motor lol.

    • Motive energy uses far more energy than many other appliance types. heating water being the highest current user, I'd get a clamp meter, setup a cable to measure the actual AC current use of said PC before claiming such, you'll be surprised by how much more than "rated current use" a desktop PC may be using, the PSU can waste a heap and there's other reasons the complete PC may be using more than the accumulated current rating of all components.

  • I think the manufacturer (OEM) of the Nutribullet , also makes the Aldi version?

Not sure why one is 900w, and the other is 1000w though. You wouldn't think there would be a benefit in having two different motors unless one is a conservative measure, and the other is slightly exaggerated.

The issue I have had with the Aldi one, is that the clips that hold the cup in place (and also contain the safety switch to prevent the motor/blade operating without cup), break on the body side over time.

(I haven't seen the screw on blender base as mentioned above yet - wonder if the coming Aldi unit will also have this?)

    • Rated wattage should be cracked down on, the reason why the Aldi unit is higher rated may be because of a cheaper and less efficient motor/bearings/blade design, may not be the device can create greater motive force or do a better job, due to living off-grid I get to see the real time wattage of devices displayed by a panel attached to the inverter, many things use a different amount to their claimed rated amount and under load a device uses more, my 500 watt rated Kenwood blender (which died recently after less than 2yrs and never abused or overloaded) would use about 300 watts doing most things, you often see things on Ebay, Amazon and Chinese sites claiming wattage rates well above what a GPO is rated at (2400 is the max wattage an Au General Purpose Outlet is rated to supply) mostly to make the thing seem better than some other thing that may be claiming the correct current draw.

Is there much difference in actual results in the different size motors for the same thing.. just the 950 would take longer than the 1200w for same result?
example making smoothies or thickshakes etc

    • Actual results would be interesting!

In theory: the blades' velocity should be more consistent with higher wattage - they would reach top speed sooner, and should be able to blend tougher/denser mixtures at higher speeds while being slowed less.

Blending performance is complicated, and the relationships between final particle size/time blending/blade speed/upper limit of ingredient toughness are non-linear, there are break-points involved.

I'd say there are diminishing returns that kick in, depending on what you want to blend, personal chunk tolerance, typical patience levels, etc.

      • I'm in the market for one at moment…
I guess the 950 sounds like it would suffice.

Only for smoothies, crushed ice drinks and… depends what else I can make.

I went from 900 to 1200, not because I thought I needed extra power but because the 1200 went on sale while I was waiting for the 900 to be discounted.

Use: if my water to ice/frozen banana ratio was out, the 900 would just seize but the 1200 powers through. I also like that the 1200 version has a pulse button which is useful when I get a chunk of frozen banana that just spins around in the cup without getting blended.

      Output: 1200 smoothies are creamier.

Cleaning: blades stick up a bit more which I disliked at first, but now prefer as it’s easier to clean.

Noise: it’s a tiny bit louder. Maybe that gets offset by the fact the 1200 blends slightly quicker.

Edit to add: paid $109 for the 1200W Pro.

    • Depends on quality and design, I live off-grid and my inverter displays Wattage, you'd be surprised just how "Off" the rating can be compared to claimed rating, better blades, better bearings and motor efficiency can see a lower current draw rated item be better than a higher rated draw alternative.

Good question, the one thing that "Should" be different between the 2 is the maximum time you can run the device without resting it, the 600w Nutribullet has a max run time of 1 minute, after 1 minute mine would be fairly warm to touch after 4 minutes sitting unused, a fair amount of heat obviously to have soaked into the plastic and warm it that much, I would rest mine for at least an hour before using it again, the bigger motor larger sized units should have better air flow/fans and be under less stress during use and should be less likely to burn out from overheating, but you can't rely on that being the case!

  • Cheers OP.

Picked it up from The Good Guys for $83 using their Price Beat option with free Uber delivery within 90 minutes.

    And $1.70 back from Cashrewards

    • And its delivered.

Pretty good service. Didn't even come from my closest store!

I've been using a 900W nutribullet 900 series for… 6 years I think. It's a solid unit. Just recently I've had one of the 2 blades die, and the other 1 was about to die. What eventually happens is the blades gradually loosen from the plastic and the internal ball bearings come out.
Last month I replaced the part for ~$12 (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/166454874672?var=466100089666), it's running as good as new and I assume that'll do me for another few years.

    • That's good news, I've had what were recognized as quality branded stuff not last, this is to replace a Westinghouse branded thing I bought a week ago that has failed already, live remote and drove 120k's to buy something that didn't last 3 days! followed instructions and was careful with it, most things are rubbish now, salesperson said "everything is lower quality since covid"

  • Been waiting for the set with the grinding/milling blade to come on special … I live remote, my old grinder broke beyond economical repair, a new Westinghouse one I drove 120k's and bought at Hardly Normal broke in 3 days of careful use, halved the maximum run time recommended in the instructions and only half filled it according to the instructions, hope this gives me some reliability!
