28/08/2024 – Price increased from $111.20 to $125.10, still good price as of now.

0.95% surcharge on card, PayPal, WeChatPay, AliPay & UnionPay payments.

Just received mine and can confirm it could be a short-dated stock with the EXP 11/2024.

My advice: Just throw it in your fridge (not freezer!) in its original package/canister unopened if you don’t plan to use it soon. The EXP is more like a “best before” rather than “use by.” Make sure to take it out and recover to room temp before opening the canisters. It’ll work just like any new stocks.

Another great value 35mm film deal just spotted. This time it is effectively $25.02 per roll for Portra 160 36EX. 0.95% surcharge on card, PayPal, WeChatPay, AliPay & UnionPay payments.

It is well-regarded film for its fine grains and beautiful skin tone.

I believe this is part of the ongoing wide range sales at digiDirect. Probaly other films are also at great price. Feel free to share if you do find any!

Happy shooting :)

  • Ooh thanks for the post, my 35mm colour negative reserves are sad and smol these days. Now portra 400/800 for $23 a roll pls :):):):):)

Only concern is these might be short dated, I fridge store anyway like a good ozbargainer, but a bunch of shops have been selling short dated portra films lately.

Good old days are gone, mate. Films are expensive now and I’m sure they’ll stay for a considerable amount of time. Portra 800 35mm easily costs ~$35/roll.

But in case you haven’t heard: since Fujifilm has stopped making these two films and handed over to Kodak:
      Fujifilm 200 = Kodak Gold 200
      Fujifilm 400 = Kodak Ultramax 400

For now I do find Fuji-branded ones are a bit cheaper. Just make sure you develop/scan, or tell the lab to treat them as their corresponding Kodak ones.

    • Back in the day when I had a darkroom, we bought our 35mm film in bulk rolls, and wound it on to reusable canisters. Is that no longer possible?

      • Definitely still available for black and white films and cine films, though there are some issues to deal with for the latter. Not aware of any regular photographic colour negative films available in bulk rolls these days :(

Nice! They have the pro image 100 5 pack for $99 too, https://www.digidirect.com.au/kodak-pro-image-100-135-36-5pk

    • Was gonna include this but it’s pre-order item, and I’m not sure how long the wait is.

  • Thanks for posting this! Just bought a pack. Hopefully it's not short expiry.
