All flavours are naturally sweetened. We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. Category **Description **
STRAIGHT Unflavoured and optimised for macronutrients (90% protein). Due to omitting flavours and any sweetener, this is just straight WPI from the manufacturer (less than 1% sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture). Use in cookies, smoothies etc. Or if you just want the best macros and don't care for taste!
CORE These flavours have between 75-87% protein. They will also be low in fat (0.3-0.8g/serve) and also low in carbs (1-3.7g/serve). As a general guide, suitable if you have strict dietary restrictions and want to keep the carbs/fat down, but want something more exciting than unflavoured.
INDULGE These flavours will have 64-68% protein with a higher serving size. Notably, carbs will be a bit higher in these flavours (6.8-9.9g/serve) and the cookie flavours will have around 1g extra fat/serve - which contributes to an extra 20-30 calories per serve. This extra latitude with macros and ingredients allows us to elevate the flavour to be what we consider amazing, while not being a complete cheat meal. Given the popularity of Aussie Choc Malt, we're experimenting with a few others in this category and have recently released our two new cookie flavours.

In almost all of our prior WPI deals, I have been asked how our WPI compares to two other very popular products on OzBargain that we sell (Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey and Musashi 100% Whey).

Whey Protein Prices in 2024

Whey pricing is something I have been making mention of in our prior posts, more as a heads up about a possible increase in retail prices. Anyway, we have now seen this transpire across several brands.

In summary, prices have gone up at the supplier level over nine months ago and we have now seen price increases across the board. We did raise our prices in July as a result of this.

Full transparency; this deal has also increased because we can no longer sustain the lower price point. It’s up by $2.50/kg (for 4kg, same credit) and we have kept the optional 5th kg at the same price but with reduced credit. This is the first price increase we’ve had on these deals since the end of 2022. Despite this, I do hope that this continues to represent great value.

    Just tried cookies and cream, it is the bomb. I can imagine that mixing it with milk must be tastier yet. I'm going to use it to drink it at the office and the vanilla cream at home with Greek yogurt and cereal after training.

    thanks for this. I got matcha green tea in an older packaging without ziplock…should i be concerned around it staying fresh? (expiry is 2 yrs away so still new stock)

    edit: Mint Choc Chip is great…has become another fav. of mine along with Melon Milk….only miss so far has been Taro ordered from last time, but have almost finished the bag (was too lazy to send back for the 110% offer)

      I've been buying Marine Collagen from Bulk Nutrients, its a lot cheaper - but i have not had the aminoz one to compare against.

        I was about to get it, however its bovine sourced and supposedly not as well adsorbed by the body. The bulk nutrient serve is 30g, where the marine amino version is a 15g serve. I prob should have spent more time calculating micro and macro nutrients per 100g, maybe next time

          apologies, you're right. It is not Marine Collagen.
          Reading up on it, i think it depends on what your needs are. It is my understanding is marine is really good for hair and skin, whilst Bovine is better for muscle, joints etc.

    Are you getting rid of zippers on the pouches? The ones I received all doesn't have zippers which is a pain to reseal everytime.

      Hi @DumplingBoi for now we are, the top zippers were consistently breaking for many customers and we have found the one with the seals were more reliable. We are still looking for better alternatives, this is definitely still a work in progress.

    Just ordered the very first protein supplement (WPI) of my life! 1 kg of AUSSIE CHOC MALT and a sample of Matcha green Tea- thought should order the safest option as everyone seems to love that choc malt flavour!

    Having done a bit of online research it seems that going slow with protein supplements and letting your gut get used to it with small amounts is the best way to go. So going to take it slow and fingers crossed it all goes well. Any other tips/tricks or a good place to do some research will be awesome.

    Didnt want to order a lot of samples as feels a bit wrong getting all the samples and then a free credit for all those later on as well- or is it not how it works. You guys should make a 4 kg or 5 kg deal where its 200gm or 250gm small packages of every flavor!! There are so many (which is a great thing generally) but causes analysis paralysis for over-analyzing beginners like me :-)

          Absolutely, the feedback we received about our older versions with Stevia was incredibly helpful. We did have a number of people commenting about that horrible aftertaste from stevia. Moving over to Thaumatin has been a big step forward for the product. Thanks for the feedback as always, it helps a lot!

        I second this Jay. I’ve tried a hell of a lot of protein over my years training (yours, myofusuon, syntha 6, ON, rule 1, Ghost, Dymatize, hell I could add another 20 brands to this) and the Mint Cookie Crunch is right up there with the best I’ve tasted.
        Not sure if its a supply issue or something as to why you guys aren’t keeping it, but it’s a real shame as I am ultra impressed with how good that tastes.

    I must say it’s my first time seeing & using the zipper pouches. Seems much neater and tidier than the norm.

    Most of my wpi is preferred unflavoured but I tried (after all the hype here) the melon milk - and it’s gooood 👍

    Op, consider having on offer/ sale a variety sample packs of all flavours available. It will certainly make me try all the flavours for taste prior to committing a purchase of a larger pack of the same.

    Jay when will you have bovine collagen like the vital proteins unflavoured collagen? That is something I'd be keen to keep buying. Not a fan of the taste of marine collagen.

    Can we also get more flavours on the BCAAs? Such as blue raspberry xtend has?

      Hi @blackmoresbioc, we have no firm plans around bovine collagen currently. I am aware that we have had a few requests, so I will take note of this and pass this along to our team.

      In terms of the BCAA's, we are extending our flavour range in our EAA's as we have seen increased demand in these (and are essentially BCAA's plus other EAA's anyway). The BCAA's specifically may have more flavours introduced down the line, but that likely won't be in the near-term.
