WPI Flavours & Nutritional Info

We now have 27 flavours available to choose from.

We have two brand new releases:

  • Cookies and Cream Ice Cream: A blend of creamy vanilla with crunchy, chocolatey cookie bits and hints of dark cocoa. The sweet vanilla and rich cookies create a balance of smoothness and crunch, with a thicker mouthfeel. If you're not blown away by this one, hit us up for our 110% Guarantee.
  • Mint Cookie Crunch (Limited Edition): Think mint slice, but in a protein powder. Mint ice cream, rich chocolate and real cookie pieces with a crunch. Fully backed by our 110% Guarantee. Once sold out, it's gone and won't be available for backorder.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

In terms of nutritional information, it will vary between flavours. Here's a breakdown (thanks to @Chaffix and @Jamiess in prior deals):

To help guide, here are the category descriptions from the table above:

Category **Description **
STRAIGHT Unflavoured and optimised for macronutrients (90% protein). Due to omitting flavours and any sweetener, this is just straight WPI from the manufacturer (less than 1% sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture). Use in cookies, smoothies etc. Or if you just want the best macros and don't care for taste!
CORE These flavours have between 75-87% protein. They will also be low in fat (0.3-0.8g/serve) and also low in carbs (1-3.7g/serve). As a general guide, suitable if you have strict dietary restrictions and want to keep the carbs/fat down, but want something more exciting than unflavoured.
INDULGE These flavours will have 64-68% protein with a higher serving size. Notably, carbs will be a bit higher in these flavours (6.8-9.9g/serve) and the cookie flavours will have around 1g extra fat/serve - which contributes to an extra 20-30 calories per serve. This extra latitude with macros and ingredients allows us to elevate the flavour to be what we consider amazing, while not being a complete cheat meal. Given the popularity of Aussie Choc Malt, we're experimenting with a few others in this category and have recently released our two new cookie flavours.

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian Blended and Packed in our Sydney Facility
  • Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC)
  • Protein used is added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
  • Naturally sweetened with thaumatin. We do not use artificial sweeteners.
  • Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)
  • Backed by our 110% Guarantee. Try it and if you don't love it, we'll give you 110% back (in store credit) or a full refund (including delivery). As I mentioned in the video, we offer this so you can try the product risk-free. If you've opened it up to try it we're not going to make you send it back either.

Commonly Asked - Amino Z WPI / ON 100% Whey / Musashi 100% Whey (The 3 most popular proteins here on OzBargain)

In almost all of our prior WPI deals, I have been asked how our WPI compares to two other very popular products on OzBargain that we sell (Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey and Musashi 100% Whey).

One thing I want to emphasise is that we sell (or have sold) all three products and despite us obviously having a vested interest in our own brand, we firmly stand behind the quality of all three products (hence why we stock all of them).

In a previous deal, I asked our team to put together a comprehensive and objective video detailing many key differences between the three products. So if you're interested, the video can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LBeV33fArc

Obviously taste will come down to personal preference so we haven't touched on this, we have instead focussed on key attributes of each product. I hope this presents a fair representation of each.

Whey Protein Prices in 2024

Whey pricing is something I have been making mention of in our prior posts, more as a heads up about a possible increase in retail prices. Anyway, we have now seen this transpire across several brands.

In summary, prices have gone up at the supplier level over nine months ago and we have now seen price increases across the board. We did raise our prices in July as a result of this.

Full transparency; this deal has also increased because we can no longer sustain the lower price point. It’s up by $2.50/kg (for 4kg, same credit) and we have kept the optional 5th kg at the same price but with reduced credit. This is the first price increase we’ve had on these deals since the end of 2022. Despite this, I do hope that this continues to represent great value.

Z Points FAQ

  • What are Z Points? Z Points are the same as store credit. Your account is credited and you can use this as a discount on any future order with us.
  • Can I use Z Points/Credit from a prior deal? 100% Yes. If you received $50+ last time, feel free to use it as a discount this time.
  • How do I use my Z Points/Credit? To apply existing store credit (Z Points), firstly make sure that you are logged in. Then, go into checkout and after entering your delivery and shipping choice, select "Load Payment Methods". Once loaded, you will see an option entitled "Spend Your Points". Click this and then enter how many points you wish to apply as a discount to your order. You can apply points acquired from previous deals to this purchase.
  • How long until I receive my Z Points/Credit? You will get your Z Points assigned to your account in about 10 days of your order shipping. It can then be applied to any future order that you place. This cannot be expedited.
  • Other Z Points/Credit Info: Z Points do NOT expire. Also, you do NOT have to be a Club Z member to retain your store credit.
  • Z Points Limit: There is a limit of one lot of bonus store credit per person across all our promotions for the next three weeks. You can order more than 5kg of WPI, or place two separate orders, but the store credit will be capped so we can stay in business and keep doing deals like these. We do not plan to do any other OzBargain promotions during this time.

This is different to having an account on our website. A word of thanks

This community has supported our business now for years and I am eternally grateful for the ongoing support and feedback. The way in which we have continued to improve our offering most certainly would not have been possible without the input we receive on OzBargain. Thank you so much to everyone.

As always, I will personally be on the deal page engaging with everyone. Vanessa (our head of customer service) will be handling all direct messages. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have experienced any issues or simply have a question.

Thanks again everyone!

A quick note to anyone who has recently purchased in the last 7 days prior to the launch of this deal (and only just missed out on this offer). If you wanted to take advantage of this deal, please feel free to send us through a direct message and Vanessa can look after you.

We get asked this every deal and we will be more than happy to accommodate. The fact that you are supporting our brand outside these deals means the world to us and we do not want you to feel like we've done you a disservice when you could have waited a few more days.

    Thank you as always!

    Jay

    • How do we contact Vanessa or would that be a DM through OzB?

      • @cristobaljames yep just shoot over a direct message here on OzBargain. Vanessa is taking care of all of those messages and she will look after you.

  • Any recommendation on low carb/fat/sugar flavor?

    • +2

      @mmehta thanks for your interest.

If you're looking to keep the macros really tight, keep away from the "INDULGE" flavours I've listed above. You'll find a more carbs in all of these (and the cookies ones will have about an extra gram of fat per serve).

The higher up the flavour is in the table in the OP, the higher the protein percentage. But generally everything within that "CORE" range will have relatively low carbs/fats.

In terms of popularity of flavours, Chocolate, Vanilla, Iced Coffee and Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro), Matcha are the top 5 in the "CORE" range.

      I hope this helps.

      Jay

  • Jay, you are forbidden from ever discontinuing the choc-cherry delight flavour. Keep up the great work!

    • @Dandaman21 ok, well you're the customer after all!

There are absolutely no plans to discontinue this one. It's quite a unique flavour in terms of protein powders and has been quite popular with us.

      Thanks for the support!

      Jay

  • Thank you so much for another amazing deal!!!
I've been drinking the unflavoured one, adding some kinako powder and brown sugar syrup. Taste really amazing!

    • Thanks again @e8s5!

Yeah the unflavoured will go pretty well when mixed in with other ingredients and we have found that a lot of our customers love the versatility of this one. Thanks for sharing the feedback on this publicly, it's most appreciated.

I've still got a few bags from my last order, but would there be any chance of a deal on 1-2 kgs of the new flavours?

    • +2

      Thanks for asking @chasingstoke

We aren't planning any deals on 1-2kg I'm afraid. The shipping cost component really kills it for us in smaller quantities. You will get 30% off using this coupon code for a smaller quantity if you didn't want to commit to 4kg though.

I hope this helps and thanks for your interest and the ongoing support.

      Jay

      • Completely understandable. I missed the 30%, and that's plenty.

I will chuck through a small order for the cookies and cream. Stoked to try it.

        • Oh thanks so much for giving the new flavour a go. Most appreciated on the new order :)

          Jay

  • +1

    Awesome thanks! Just good timing.

Any chance we can mix and match with the vegan protein also? Or any deals coming up with that?

I found the vegan one makes a great pudding if you don't mind it with much water hehe <3

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @Anj!

For this deal we cannot combine with the Vegan, frankly we are only prepared for a WPI promo and adding Vegan into the mix would throw our team into chaos and result in a terrible customer experience from out of stocks and major delays.

The Vegan will be covered by the 30% offer by using this coupon code.

We do plan to do another Vegan protein deal in the future though. It just won't be viable for us right now.

I appreciate the support as always, thanks again @Anj.

      Jay

  • Hey Rep, when does this deal end? I'd like to buy some on the weekend.

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @mirovich!

It's currently set to end on Sunday. We may extend this, but this will depend on stock levels. So the weekend won't be an issue.

Just do be aware that the Mint Choc Crunch will likely sell out by then. This is a limited edition flavour and we aren't planning on producing more after this initial lot.

I appreciate the interest and support of the brand. Thanks again!

Aussie choc malt is delicious. I mixed .5kg of vanilla and .5kg of aussie choc malt and it still tastes great.

    Thanks Jay

Don’t need to order this round but just wanted to say I recommend this brand and the value when on promo Is unbeatable. The flavours are great and on the whole have good mixability* . The customer service is next level and extremely refreshing compared to the way some other reps/business act around here. This mob understands customer satisfaction is paramount.

*one of the first ones I got (I think it was coconut) was average mixability and when I mentioned to Jay he offered to either replace or refund. I didn’t take him up on the offer at the time as it was still fine to be consumed but kudos to them.

    • +1

Thank you @Jimothy Wongingtons! That is amazing feedback and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you sharing this publicly.

I'll also be highlighting this to our customer service team. They are awesome and I am so happy that you have been looked after as a long-time supporter of our brand.

      Thanks again!

  • Hi Jay, Any chance of Vegan protein deal anytime soon? I am on my last 1kg bag since your last deal.

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @itslittfam

While we do not have a confirmed date on a new Vegan Protein deal, we do plan on running another one later this year. I just do not yet have a confirmed date or month as these deals do require a fair bit of preparation to ensure we have adequate stock available for execution and on-time dispatch. I can confirm that we won't be running one in at least the next four weeks as we recover from this promotion.

This deal will be covered with 30% off the Vegan range. It's obviously not going to be at the same level as a Vegan dedicated promo such as the last one we ran.

Sorry I cannot be clearer here, but I do hope that this helps. Thank you for the support of the brand!

      Jay

  • Anyone got flavour suggestions? I enjoy matcha green tea and vanilla from my last order (will reorder those). Taro was too artificial tasting and chocolate coconut was pretty good. Keen to try something different.

Also figured out how to use z points (in the payment part of the order), wasn't clear on how to use them!

    • Thanks for your interest in placing another order with us @Cohey

While I'm sure there will be others with some suggestions, the more popular options are Chocolate, Vanilla, Aussie Choc Malt, Iced Coffee and Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro) (a newer release which recently overtook Matcha).

If you want something completely different, try Melon Milk - it has great macros and is a lighter melon flavour.

And if you don't like anything feel free to hit us up for the 110% Guarantee. For example if you want to swap out the taro that you didn't like, shoot over a direct message and Vanessa will happily fix you up.

Thanks for the note on the Z Points also - I'll take a look to see how we can be a bit clearer here. I appreciate the feedback.

      Jay

      • Thanks Jay! Melon milk did look interesting so I'll try it. The taro was still good enough to finish the bag :)

        • No worries @Cohey, glad the taro was still ok, but that offer will stand for anything else you try too. Thanks for the new order!

          Jay

    • Aussie Choc Malt and Choc Cherry Delight!

  • Just started my order from the last deal so I'll skip this one.

FWIW I'm trying the melon milk flavour and quite enjoying it. It's a rather mellow (Mellow Melon Milk?) flavour, not too overpowering or too sweet, nice to see it at the the top of the core list. Reminds me of a cross between sweet melon and rockmelon.

    • Thanks again @EightImmortals! I really appreciate the support of the deal despite not needing anything.

I'm glad you're enjoying the Melon Milk and I'll pass this feedback along to the team. Thank you for sharing this positive feedback publicly.

      Jay

Absolutely love these deals and my only wish is that the extra Z points scale when purchasing more than 5kgs!!

Any chance you can up the limit to 8kgs :)

    • +1

      Thanks for the support @PotatoCakes!

Good feedback here and I'll take note for our next deal. This is certainly not out of the question and I'll discuss it with the team.

      Jay

  • +1

Perfect timing, just finishing the last bag from last time and was hoping one would pop up soon.

The only problem I have is that 5KG isn't enough to get all the flavours I know I love while also trying the new flavours always being added!

Taro and Melon Milk are my top two and Aussie Choc Malt is a staple, trying Creme Caramel and Brazilian Chocolate this time around.

As a side note, Amino Z protein combined with the Ninja Creami is a game changer.

    • +1

Thanks for the support of the deal @Lilja4ever!

Noted on the feedback about the 5kg cap. Actually that's the second note in a row about it being too low and given the flavour range we now have, this is something we will need to take a look at.

I appreciate you sharing the positive feedback on those flavours too. Our team will be chuffed.

      Thanks again!

      Jay

    • Are you just blending it, what are you making with the creami? (had my eye on a creami)

      • I keep my Creami recipes pretty simple, a scoop of protein powder, milk and a tiny bit of xanthan gum for texture. Works out a treat.

Usually I'll mix in a tim tam and some roasted pecans for fun and might swap out the xanthan gum for cream cheese or full cream if we've got some left over.

  • Ty Lord, just in time

    • Thanks for the support @Fredfloresjr!!

Hi Jay. Any chance you guys could start accepting PayPal? Makes it easier to split payments, or pay in instalments.

    • +7

      Thanks for asking @mrwoo

For full transparency, we stopped accepting PayPal years ago after they wanted to withhold a significant percentage of our income as security, which was crippling for us as a small business. On top of their fee structure, it was just not feasible for us if we were going to working off tighter margins with a value approach.

It isn't out of the question and I will make a note to see if we could make it feasible again because I do see the appeal for customers. For now we have no firm plans to reinstate PayPal, but instead have AfterPay and Zip available. (Besides VISA/MC/AMEX directly).

I appreciate you asking, thanks again.

      Jay

      • +1

Good on you for removing them IMO. They do this with way too many businesses!

      • Didnt think I could love you guys more but pushing back against Paypal and their mafia tactics is a huge plus for me :)

        • +1

πŸ˜‚ thanks for the support @jam747 and @PotatoCakes

We used to be very reliant on PayPal until this almost crippled us. Objectively we just had no choice as a bootstrapped small business fully reliant on the cashflow we generate.

I understand the benefit of PayPal for some of our customers, but we certainly cannot make any commitments to using them again as things currently stand.

Anyway, that's my diplomatic answer πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • Good timing, was starting to run a little low.
I'm going to splurge a little this time and try out this 'Fruity Cereal' that I've never seen before =)

Thanks for the new order @Stoibs!

Fruity Cereal Milk was one we released a couple of months ago. It's a bit of a fun flavour and I hope you like it!

I appreciate the ongoing support as always.

How can you guys keep up to the comments here. Haha.
Do have 1 qstn though, long time buyer, are these safe for 14 yo's? For an active child playing multiple contact sports and trying to bulk up and he has been told to get more protein into him! WPI the way to go or something else?

    • πŸ˜‚ Well I'm currently about 12 minutes behind…clearly my touch typing is not fast enough.

We do have a warning on the packet that our protein powders aren't suitable for under 18 years of age. So while I cannot recommend the product for minors, I would suggest consulting someone appropriately qualified to advise on the matter specific to your requirements.

I do hope this helps, thanks for your interest!

    • Completely fine, the whey itself is a byproduct of dairy production, and arguably healthier to have frequently than junk foods. Personal anecdote (I started on whey at about 15) is that whey had a very obvious positive impact on my gains, especially during the years where boys will vacuum up food and burn it all.

Obviously it is a supplement, so he'll need to have it in addition to a healthy diet. But I don't see why not.

  • I'm so curious how you come up with these flavours. Do you just try new experiments and ask taste testers what it's most similar to?

    • +1

@pakikanga well we began with the standard ones and then one day we had an over-supply of Matcha Green tea (as we used to only sell this straight). So Chiara developed our Matcha Green Tea flavour to try to use the extra stock. And then it got super popular. So after that, our focus shifted on trying these really unique and different flavours.

We get inspiration from everywhere. In Sydney for example, there are plenty of small local food/drink outlets that we frequent to get new ideas. Everyone from our team makes suggestions and we also get a tonne of ideas from our existing customers (so we certainly cannot take all the credit!)

      Thanks for asking!

      Jay

  • Perfect timing!!! Thanks guys, the best protein out there

    • Thanks so much for the support @telf22!

      Jay

  • @aminozcomau Jay, would I get double cashback if I order 10kg?

    • Thanks for asking @Youknowho1.

There will be a limit capped at 5kg for this particular deal. You can order more at the lower price per unit, but the store credit component will max out at 5kg.

There have been a few comments requesting higher quantity deals in the future and we will certainly consider this, especially with the extensive flavour range we now have.

      I hope this clarifies.

      Jay

  • Perfect timing, I'm on my last bag of WPI.

Last time I tried the Creme Caramel and Aussie Choc, both nice flavours but the Creme Caramel clumps as opposed to Vanilla or Aussie Choc.

    • +1

Thanks for the ongoing support @Colombian!

I appreciate the feedback. If you're unhappy with the Creme Caramel please feel free to send through a direct message and Vanessa will look after you. I am however glad to read that you've been happy with the flavours and will pass all of this feedback over to the team.

      Jay

      • Hi Jay, no need to talk to Vanessa, I already finished the bag, I understand that you provide 100% client satisfaction but in my opinion it wasn't that bad to warrant a return.

        • Oh ok then, no problems. Thanks for letting me know @Colombian

What would be flavour the diff between chocolate and Brazillian choc?

    • Thanks for the question @astarman

The key thing would be the caramelised condensed milk flavour to the Brazillian Chocolate flavour. Chocolate is more a straight chocolate without this additional flavour note.

I hope this clarifies and thanks for your interest in this deal.

Do you have any plans to make your own version of the protein dessert mousses?

I've tried the Bodyscience and Man Shake versions and they're not too bad for a higher protein not-exactly-healthy-but-maybe-better snack

My attempt at using Cottees instant custard powder and protein powder didn't come out right!

    • We have certainly had this suggested to us @TheFrunj and it is on our consideration list (which is a very long list πŸ˜‚).

While we do not have firm plans around this, I will certainly take note of this. The references to those other brands will be very helpful when we look further into this potential project.

Thanks for the suggestion and also for the support of this deal!

      Jay

    • I can recommend mixing any of the WPI with a bowl of yoghurt to make a delicious dessert. I use an electric whisk to mix it up.

  • Dammit my order from last week is arriving today. Woulda gone the full 4kg

    • @diggityfish, if you only just ordered feel free to send through a direct message. Vanessa will be happy to look after you.

We really appreciate the support outside of these deals, so we are more than happy to support you if you only just missed out on this one!

      Jay

  • Thanks I ordered 4kg bag of beans - great value $159. Does the coffee store okay in the freezer til I'm ready to grind it?

πŸ˜‚ There are certainly no plans for us to go into battle against the roasters on here.

Do you guys have any protein particularly suitable for cooking /baking? Have used your stuff in a few cookie recipes and it just doesn't seem to come out great.

    • I've asked the team and they have advised that either the Vegan Protein or Casein Protein is better suited to baking rather than our WPI, as our WPI won't hold moisture as well.

Those will both be covered with this code for 30% off and free shipping.

      Thanks for asking @chriaj2689

      Jay

  • Still have 3 bags left, but I think it’s time to try some new flavours!

    • Thanks for the support @SuperGreen! I really appreciate the new order!

      Jay

  • Matcha green tea is the best in the range hand down.

    • Thanks for sharing this kind feedback publicly @Alexender Chase! Glad you love it, I'll be sharing this with the team too.

    Hi OP

    Looking to try these.

Which flavour do you recommend that’s has the least or zero amount of sugar? (Apart from unflavoured)

Also are these good for use in cooking/ baking as well?

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @YoursTruly

In terms of sugar, the flavours with the lowest sugar % will be Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream, Vanilla Creamy, Banana, Coconut Ice Cream and Mint Choc Chip (all are 1.4% or lower, and 0.4-0.5g/serve of sugar). The sugar component is almost all lactose in these flavours, so it's only slightly off unflavoured.

For baking, generally the Vegan Protein or the Casein Protein will be better suited as these will hold moisture a little better than our WPI. Both will be 30% off with this code.

      I hope this helps.

      Jay

      • The sugar is mostly not an added sugar? And is rather mostly a lactose component?

Did I get that correct? If so, can you please elaborate on the added sugars component with more detail?

        Thanks mate

        • +1

Hi @YoursTruly, that's correct especially in these flavours.

Lactose will be 1.2% of the product as a maximum and is from the WPI itself. The flavouring may contain small amounts of sugar. For example with these flavours, there it will be about 0.2% sugar from the flavour, which in a 32g serve is ~0.06g - ie. pretty negligible.

None of our flavours have sugar added in as a separate ingredient. I must however note that in our three "INDULGE" flavours, sugar is higher due to the additional ingredients we add in. Aussie Choc Malt has malt, while the new cookie flavours have actual cookie crumbs (which will contain some added sugar). This won't be the case in the "CORE" range.

I hope this provides some more clarity around this.

          Jay
