WPI Flavours & Nutritional Info

We now have 27 flavours available to choose from.

We have two brand new releases:

  • Cookies and Cream Ice Cream: A blend of creamy vanilla with crunchy, chocolatey cookie bits and hints of dark cocoa. The sweet vanilla and rich cookies create a balance of smoothness and crunch, with a thicker mouthfeel. If you're not blown away by this one, hit us up for our 110% Guarantee.
  • Mint Cookie Crunch (Limited Edition): Think mint slice, but in a protein powder. Mint ice cream, rich chocolate and real cookie pieces with a crunch. Fully backed by our 110% Guarantee. Once sold out, it's gone and won't be available for backorder.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

In terms of nutritional information, it will vary between flavours. Here's a breakdown (thanks to @Chaffix and @Jamiess in prior deals):

To help guide, here are the category descriptions from the table above:

Category **Description **
STRAIGHT Unflavoured and optimised for macronutrients (90% protein). Due to omitting flavours and any sweetener, this is just straight WPI from the manufacturer (less than 1% sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture). Use in cookies, smoothies etc. Or if you just want the best macros and don't care for taste!
CORE These flavours have between 75-87% protein. They will also be low in fat (0.3-0.8g/serve) and also low in carbs (1-3.7g/serve). As a general guide, suitable if you have strict dietary restrictions and want to keep the carbs/fat down, but want something more exciting than unflavoured.
INDULGE These flavours will have 64-68% protein with a higher serving size. Notably, carbs will be a bit higher in these flavours (6.8-9.9g/serve) and the cookie flavours will have around 1g extra fat/serve - which contributes to an extra 20-30 calories per serve. This extra latitude with macros and ingredients allows us to elevate the flavour to be what we consider amazing, while not being a complete cheat meal. Given the popularity of Aussie Choc Malt, we're experimenting with a few others in this category and have recently released our two new cookie flavours.

Flavour Descriptions

Thanks for the suggestion to include these @gimmebubbletea! Written by Chiara on our team (I do not have the creative wording ability for some of these descriptions!)

  • Aussie Choc Malt (New and Improved): Transport yourself back to the childhood days of mixing spoonfuls of chocolate malt powder into full-cream milk with our Aussie Chocolate Malt (New and Improved) flavour. This flavour is mildly sweet with a distinct malty taste that pairs perfectly with gentle notes of milk chocolate, resulting in a well-balanced and delightful flavour profile. Contains Gluten.
  • Banana: A moderately sweet and creamy shake, with the prominent taste of ripe bananas.
  • Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro): A velvety taste of chocolate with hints of caramelised condensed milk.
  • Choc Cherry Delight: A flavour that captures the beloved taste of a classic Australian chocolate bar, it blends the richness of dark chocolate with the sweet tanginess of cherries and subtle hints of coconut, creating a delicious and satisfying shake that mimics the real deal.
  • Chocolate Caramel: Inspired by a popular Aussie Chocolate caramel lolly, our chocolate caramel flavour harmoniously blends the sweet and sticky profiles of caramel and butterscotch with a subtle milk chocolate base.
  • Chocolate Coconut: A blend of rich dark chocolate with sweet, creamy, and nutty coconut undertones.
  • Chocolate Honeycomb: A combination that showcases the richness of milk chocolate paired with the sweet and distinctive taste of honeycomb. Its velvety texture complements the flavour notes, elevating the overall taste experience.
  • Chocolate: A smooth and velvety chocolate flavour with a delightful sweetness and prominent cocoa notes.
  • Coconut Ice Cream: A creamy, moderately sweet flavour with a hint of nuttiness that closely resembles the flavour profile of sweetened coconut milk.
  • Coffs Harbour Choc Banana: Staying true to its name, the Coffs Harbour Choc Banana is a creamy shake that strikes a delightful balance between smooth milky chocolate and ripe banana flavours.
  • Cookies and Cream Ice Cream: Cookies and Cream Ice Cream flavour blends creamy vanilla with crunchy, chocolatey cookie bits and hints of dark cocoa. The sweet vanilla and rich cookies create a perfect balance of smoothness and crunch, with a thicker, more decadent mouthfeel that makes it especially indulgent and satisfying. Contains Gluten.
  • Creme Caramel: A creamy shake with multiple caramel flavours that blend together harmoniously, and a touch of salt to create a balanced sweetness.
  • Fruity Cereal Milk: A nostalgic blend of zesty, fruity kids cereal and milk flavours. Delicious with water, but when made with milk, it tastes exactly like the sweet milk left at the bottom of your fruity cereal bowl.
  • Iced Chai Latte: A delightful blend of sweet and spicy flavours, reminiscent of the authentic taste of chai with a touch of creamy vanilla. If you're a fan of the classic chai latte, you won’t be disappointed by this flavour.
  • Iced Coffee: A harmonious blend of robust coffee flavours complemented by milky undertones and subtle hints of vanilla.
  • Indulgent White Chocolate: A sweet, buttery flavour, complemented by hints of caramel, vanilla, and milk.
  • Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream: It's a delightful harmony of sweet and earthy matcha flavour combined with a creamy vanilla base.
  • Melon Milk: Inspired by a popular Korean drink, our Melon Milk flavour melds the taste of fresh honeydew melon with milky, vanilla notes. It's a refreshing, vibrant, and perfectly balanced flavour that's considered to be anything but dull.
  • Mint Choc Chip: A refreshing blend of peppermint, perfectly balanced with the creamy richness of milk chocolate. If you're a fan of the classic ice cream flavour combination, you're in for a delightful treat.
  • Mint Cookie Crunch: Mint Cookie Crunch flavour combines the flavours of mint ice cream with crunchy, chocolatey cookie bits for a delightful treat. The crisp mint flavour perfectly balances the rich chocolate, while the added cookie pieces create a satisfying crunch, making every sip both refreshing and enjoyable. Contains Gluten.
  • Neapolitan Ice Cream: A perfect trio of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream flavours. This flavour is considered to be sweet and moreish, making it a great choice for those with a sweet-tooth.
  • Pandan & Coconut Gelato: A South East Asian inspired flavour featuring the sweet and refreshing taste of pandan blended with creamy coconut notes. Together, they create a smooth, sweet, and tropical-flavoured shake.
  • Smooth Milk Chocolate: A milder, lighter chocolate taste and sweetness compared to our regular chocolate flavour.
  • Strawberry: A lightly sweet and creamy shake with prominent strawberry notes, nicely balanced by hints of vanilla.
  • Taro Milk Ice Cream: A smooth and creamy blend, coupled with the distinct flavour of taro and subtle milk undertones.
  • Vanilla Creamy: This flavour is inspired by vanilla ice cream and is celebrated for its well-rounded, pleasantly sweet taste, as well as the smooth texture it brings when made into a shake.

Commonly Asked - Amino Z WPI / ON 100% Whey / Musashi 100% Whey (The 3 most popular proteins here on OzBargain)

In almost all of our prior WPI deals, I have been asked how our WPI compares to two other very popular products on OzBargain that we sell (Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey and Musashi 100% Whey).

One thing I want to emphasise is that we sell (or have sold) all three products and despite us obviously having a vested interest in our own brand, we firmly stand behind the quality of all three products (hence why we stock all of them).

In a previous deal, I asked our team to put together a comprehensive and objective video detailing many key differences between the three products. So if you're interested, the video can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LBeV33fArc

Obviously taste will come down to personal preference so we haven't touched on this, we have instead focussed on key attributes of each product. I hope this presents a fair representation of each.

Whey Protein Prices in 2024

Whey pricing is something I have been making mention of in our prior posts, more as a heads up about a possible increase in retail prices. Anyway, we have now seen this transpire across several brands.

In summary, prices have gone up at the supplier level over nine months ago and we have now seen price increases across the board. We did raise our prices in July as a result of this.

Full transparency; this deal has also increased because we can no longer sustain the lower price point. It’s up by $2.50/kg (for 4kg, same credit) and we have kept the optional 5th kg at the same price but with reduced credit. This is the first price increase we’ve had on these deals since the end of 2022. Despite this, I do hope that this continues to represent great value.

Z Points FAQ

  • What are Z Points? Z Points are the same as store credit. Your account is credited and you can use this as a discount on any future order with us.
  • Can I use Z Points/Credit from a prior deal? 100% Yes. If you received $50+ last time, feel free to use it as a discount this time.
  • How do I use my Z Points/Credit? To apply existing store credit (Z Points), firstly make sure that you are logged in. Then, go into checkout and after entering your delivery and shipping choice, select "Load Payment Methods". Once loaded, you will see an option entitled "Spend Your Points". Click this and then enter how many points you wish to apply as a discount to your order. You can apply points acquired from previous deals to this purchase.
  • How long until I receive my Z Points/Credit? You will get your Z Points assigned to your account in about 10 days of your order shipping. It can then be applied to any future order that you place. This cannot be expedited.
  • Other Z Points/Credit Info: Z Points do NOT expire. Also, you do NOT have to be a Club Z member to retain your store credit.
  • Z Points Limit: There is a limit of one lot of bonus store credit per person across all our promotions for the next three weeks. You can order more than 5kg of WPI, or place two separate orders, but the store credit will be capped so we can stay in business and keep doing deals like these. We do not plan to do any other OzBargain promotions during this time.

A word of thanks

This community has supported our business now for years and I am eternally grateful for the ongoing support and feedback. The way in which we have continued to improve our offering most certainly would not have been possible without the input we receive on OzBargain. Thank you so much to everyone.

As always, I will personally be on the deal page engaging with everyone. Vanessa (our head of customer service) will be handling all direct messages. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have experienced any issues or simply have a question.

Thanks again everyone!

    • Hi @knobbs and thanks for the suggestion.

That's a solid idea. Quite possibly, we will certainly consider something like this and I'll take this to the team. We are very excited about these upcoming flavours after having tried the prototypes recently.

Thanks as always for the support!

Definitely agreed a sample pack deal would be hugely popular. Don't know how setup you are for producing lots of samples and what the pricing might look like. Could easily see people going for 10+ samples. I know you stand behind your money back guarantee, but I'd think a lot of frequent people here know it costs you money and don't want to burn you. I'd love to single serve sample a bunch of the stranger flavours before committing to a 1kg buy.

      • Yeah it's a good point @ausremi. A lot of people has been hesitant for exactly that reason which I can certainly appreciate.

This is certainly something worth consideration which we will be discussing once the deal is over. I really appreciate the input.

        Jay

I highly recommend the melon milk for anyone looking for a new flavour. Its so light and tasty. Blend it with woolies summer fruit mix and some ice and you got yourself a great protein smoothie.

I still have dreams of the mango sorbet flavour… please come back :(

    • +1

      Thanks for sharing this @hahayes!

So the mango is a flavour we are 100% working on bringing back. We have had so many challenges with the mango, especially around getting the right type of juicy sweet ripe mango. But while I don't have a confirmed ETA on this, we are making progress.

      Thanks for the support!

      Jay

Is it okay to add samples to the cart? or will this mess up the discount coupon?

    • +1

@Raphete yes you can absolutely add the samples to the cart and this won't mess the discount up. You'll actually get a little extra discount by using this coupon code (30% off).

      Thanks for asking!

      Jay

  • Can anybody recommend some flavours? Currently have ON Vanilla Ice cream and like the taste, so I prefer them a bit sweeter without tasting super artificial.

    • +2

@m0tyrider I can perhaps assist with the most popular flavours which are Chocolate, Vanilla, Aussie Choc Malt, Iced Coffee and Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro) (which recently overtook Matcha).

A few people have mentioned that they really like the melon milk which is also very popular for us.

Also, the new Cookies & Cream is (in my biased opinion) amazing. It does come with some extra carbs/fat, so steer clear if you're trying to keep the macros tight. I've got the full nutritional breakdown up in the original post.

Do note that if you try anything and aren't happy, please contact us for our 110% Guarantee. We'll replace it (at our cost), or refund or give you 110% back in credit.

      I hope this helps.

      Jay

      • Thanks Jay,

I am keen to give it another go, I think the last batch upset my gut, so with the new sweetener I am hoping it will be better.

Is the cookies and cream very sweet?

        Hows Aussie choc malt?

        • Aussie Choc Malt is absolutely delicious. It's my go-to flavour, despite trying many others along the way.

        • We did switch over to thaumatin a while back now, so if you were previously having the old stevia version perhaps this may be better @m0tyrider

The cookies and cream is not excessively sweet, but it is on the sweeter side. It's our new release and so far is one of the top sellers for this promotion.

Aussie Choc Malt is one of our top selling flavours, it tastes like a choc malt drink.

          I hope this helps.

@aminozcomau - quick question. What's the cheapest delivery option for your business? Club Z Priority / Aust Post / Courier Please.

I have no urgency for the order I'm about to put in, and would love to support your business even further to try and reduce your cost.

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @dottydotdot

I really appreciate the sentiment and support. I'd suggest to opt for the Club Z Priority. There isn't much difference for us with Australia Post and Couriers Please, but this will allow the system to pick the most reliable route to your area based on our data. That is unless you prefer a particular carrier of course.

Thank you again for the support!

      Jay

      • Thanks for replying.

Will put it through the CZ priority.

        • My pleasure, thank you again @dottydotdot!

          Jay

  • Thank the heavens. I have been waiting for another one of these deals to pop up. I have turned into a protein snob and won’t buy from any other sources (my protein) anymore!
    Thanks Jay and team :)

    • 😂 Thank you for the support @skampt!

I am a previous customer put in another 4kg order, the flavours and powders were good am I'm glad I get to use my previously accumulated Z points, thanks Amino!

    • Thanks so much for the kind feedback @casklord! Glad you've been happy and thank you for the new order!

      Jay

  • I've recently tried the choc mint flavour - it is SO TASTY, like drinking a chocolate choc mint slice. However, it isn't great at dissolving.

Also going on the coconut cream - not such a fan. Taste is pretty good but it seems to have lots of surface tension and is bad at dissolving - sometimes I end up with a large mouthful of dry powder.

    • Thanks for the sharing the feedback @drillvoice and I'll be sharing this feedback with the team.

This can happen if you're not using a shaker and we do generally recommend shake, rather than stirring in. Was this the case for you?

Ultimately if you're unhappy please feel free to hit us up for our 110% Guarantee, you can just shoot over a direct message and Vanessa will look after you.

      Jay

      • This is with a shaker - I've used other AminoZ WPI with shakers and get a much better result. Maybe it's because I've moved to a slightly narrower, smaller shaker. (I would also love if AminoZ sold a smaller shaker!)

        • Oh wow ok thanks @drillvoice

I'll pass this feedback along to our team, that's helpful insight.

Please feel free to send over a direct message with your order details and we can always replace this.

Also thanks for the suggestion on the smaller shaker option, I'll take note on this.

          Jay

Great deal as always. Any plans of for a dark chocolate flavour in the future? Thanks!

    • Thanks for the support @mannin23.

We have been exploring this option, but we don't have any definite plans around a dark chocolate option. So I unfortunately can not say a definite yes or no at this stage.

I will however take note and pass this over to our team.

      Jay

  • Hi Jay,

Just some feedback: I'm on my third order now, with my first order in January 2024, where I ordered 1kg of WPI Indulgent White Chocolate. It was one of the best I've ever tasted, and I've been using whey for the past 20 years. I ordered another bag in my next order in February. All of these tasted great. So great in fact that I ordered 4 x 1kg Indulgent White in May

I'm currently using the whey I bought in May and have noticed the taste has changed a fair bit - so much so that I can barely taste a scoop in my oats, whereas previously it was a strong and great flavour. Not sure if there's been a change in ingredients or recipe - or could be this one bag itself - but thought I'd share

    Cheers

Thanks for sharing the feedback @mixn.

We will need to investigate this one a little further. Would it be possible to send over a direct message with your order number and the batch numbers? That way we can undertake an internal investigation into this.

On that note, we'll be more than happy to send out some replacements. There seems to have been an issue with that more recent purchase and so we can send out another lot in this flavour (or any other flavour if you prefer). I'll give Vanessa a heads up if you can include that request in your message.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention, this will be extremely helpful so we can drill down on this.

Need some vegan protein deals 🙂

    Macro Mike flavours are delicious

    • +1

We've had a few requests on the Vegan Protein this time around. thanks for sharing @Yafuturefavorite

This deal will give you 30% off our Vegan Protein but it isn't going to be quite the offer that we ran with our last Vegan deal. We do plan on doing a new Vegan deal in the future, just no confirmed dates around this as of yet.

Thank you for the support of our brand!

      Jay

      • Eagerly awaiting your next vegan deal. 👌

        • Thanks for thr support @sildosaggins! Sorry I cannot confirm any dates around this as of yet.

          Jay

  • Bit of feedback for you, the Taro Milk flavour is SO good. New fav.

    • Our team is going to be chuffed with that feedback which I'll be sharing. Thank you for the kind words @ryefig!

      Jay

  • Oh my god. I was telling my girlfriend yesterday about how I'm down to the last bag and I need to buy some proteins asap. Good thing, my favourite brand went on sale.

    • That's awesome, glad we got the timing right :) Thank you for the new order @cvathapa and for the upvote too!

Hey mate, just made a 4kg whey order!

Can I ask when the credits will land in my account? I’m new to Amino Z and have heard good things so I pulled the trigger.

    Cheers!

    • Thanks for giving us a go @Goliegosh!

The credit will be applied to your account 10 days after your order ships out. If you have any issues whatsoever please don't hesitate to reach out to our team.

Thank you again for the order, I really appreciate it and I hope you're happy with our product!

      Jay

  • Do the flavours with "Milk" in the name have a higher degree of lactose? Asking from a lactose intolerant person. So far all of your WPI flavours have been amazing for me in terms of lactose issues.

    • +3

Great question @Callandor. The answer is no, the most lactose any of our flavours will have is 1.2%. The milk is more just a result of the flavour profile as opposed to additional lactose-containing ingredients being added in.

I hope this helps and I am very happy to read that everything has been good for you so far. Thank you for the support!

Keen to know if the Choc Peanut Butter flavour will be returning any time soon?

    • Thanks for asking @dijitr. This is certainly a flavour that a lot of people are looking to see return given the requests we've received after our initial trial of this flavour.

I am afraid that we do not have a date on which this one will be returning, but I can advise that it won't be in the near future unfortunately. For some background, before we delve into peanut flavours, we will be building out a new peanut-specific room (to separate peanuts from all our products being the common allergen they are). We are in the process of figuring out the best way to go about doing this. Once that is done, there will be the flavour development process which can take a long time.

We will get some peanut flavours out eventually, but they won't be in the very near term. I'll take note of the request though as we are very keen to offer some options here.

  • Any plans to bring back the cinnamon flavour? I think it was discontinued due to aftertaste issues from the sweetener used at the time.

Have been using my last lot sparingly but it’s probably getting close to reaching the best before date now.

    • Thanks for asking @sandshrew.

You're right - we did have the cinnamon but it used stevia and that's something we eliminated completely from our WPI due to the aftertaste some people found offensive.

We have been working on some cinnamon variations. The Iced Chai Latte is the only one we currently have available, but we do have a couple currently in the works. A flavour we have coming up for release soon will have a cinnamon component to it (though not exactly like the cinnamon icing we previously had). The flavour closer to the cinnamon icing is still being developed and won't be released until we have nailed it. We're not there yet though as this process can be lengthy. It is still likely months away from a release.

I hope this sheds some light and thank you for your interest and support!

      Jay

      • Thanks for the update and in-depth response Jay. The way you and the team go about it is top notch.

Have ordered the iced chai latte together with a few new flavours to try out. Keep up the good work

        • My pleasure. Thank you for the order @sandshrew!

          Jay

  • Thanks for the detailed post and discount. I usually buy my WPI from true protein and it's listed as suitable for vegetarians. Are all your flavours suitable for vegetarians?

    • +1

Thanks for the upvote and your interest in our brand @DrKB108

Yes, I can confirm that all our WPI flavours will be suitable for vegetarians.

Thanks for asking and please let me know if I can help with anything else.

      Jay

      • Thanks, Jay. I've just ordered 4kg of different WPI flavours plus Creatine.

        • Thanks for the order @DrKB108! I really appreciate it.

          Jay

  • +1

Just a heads up I noticed Creatine is showing as $42 in the cart instead of $37, and also in the checkout under the discount it has written the old credits amounts of 75 CZ (for the 5kg option)

    • +1

Ok let me take a look into this right away. Thanks for highlighting this @Seismic

      I'll revert back shortly.

      Jay

    • +1

@Seismic would you mind refreshing your cart to see if this has been rectified?

      Jay

      • amazingly quick. creatine showing as $37 now

        • +1

Great. I also fixed up the note about the Z Points on the 5kg size.

Thanks for letting me know about that @Seismic

It's unlikely many others were affected (if at all), but I'll take a look on the backend and we'll fix up anyone else if they were impacted by this also.

          Jay

        • +3

To close this one out, after a few database queries I did find 2 other orders affected by this issue. Vanessa is now in the process of rectifying this for those two orders.

This occurred as a rare system anomaly that occurs under particularly heavy load (ie. whenever we do a WPI deal on Ozbargain). The fix is now in place and shouldn't impact future orders.

Thanks again @Seismic for highlighting this.

          Jay

  • How does this compare to Bulk Nutrients?
I’m a fan of their choc honeycomb

    • +2

I was a long time BN customer until I discovered AminoZ and have never looked back. Choc Honeycomb was one of the flavours I ordered often from BN and can say that AminoZ is definitely superior.

      • Curious as to why you find this one better

        • +1

I can't accurately recall how they compare exactly as it was so long ago that I switched over, but it was better enough for me not to go back after being a long time customer of BN.

Luckily Amino Z sell samples which includes the choc Honeycomb flavour so it's easy enough to try it for yourself.

  • I've been holding out for this deal ever since I got the email about the C&C flavour being released! Thank you as always for the great products and customer service.

    • Thanks @eman13! I hope you enjoy the new Cookies & Cream we (finally) released. Chiara was working on this one for over two years and we're really excited with the end result.

Thanks for the support of our brand!

Any vegan protein deals soon? 👀

    • Thanks for your interest @nacl600!

We don't have any confirmed plans for a dedicated Vegan Protein deal presently. We are planning on running a new one, but it won't be in the coming weeks (as we recover from this one!). If you need anything in the meantime, this code will take 30% off our Vegan Protein.

Thank you for the support of our brand!

      Jay

  • Just had a question. I wanted to use some of the Zpoint credit's I have saved up ($50 worth) to try some new flavour protein samples. It's mentioned that the samples have a 100% backing of credit for flavours that have not been tried up to 1 sample. I'm just wondering if I pay for that using my credit's will that also be credited? Or do I need to pay in cash in order to attain that credit? Thanks!

    • +1

      Thanks for asking @YRich

I can confirm that you'll receive the credit if you pay via Z Points or if you pay in cash, it won't make any difference on this offer.

Thanks for the support of our brand!

      Jay

    Hi Jay

How does expiry of Z Points work?

I just logged in and saw I had "5 days until expiry", presumably from the last deal.

What expires after 6 months? Do all Z Points (e.g. What is advertised as the credit in these deals) expire after 6 months?

    • @Wolfenstein98k our Z Points don't expire, is this in relation to Z Points or perhaps the loyalty tier?

Our Loyalty Tiers will expire after a period of not placing an order.

Could you please let me know if this is the case? Thanks in advance.

      Jay

      • Hi Jay,

Looks like loyalty tier. Thanks, I'll look into that a bit more.

PS do these stack? Eg if I have Z Points and Loyalty stuff, AND this OzBargain deal, can I use/redeem all three in the one order?

        • +1

          No worries @Wolfenstein98k

You can use your Z Points, so yes, these will stack with this offer.

The loyalty code won't stack though. That's a separate coupon code available to you based on your loyalty tier. This deal will represent better value than the usual loyalty offer that we have available.

Having said that, if you place a new order, your spend will contribute towards your loyalty tier. For example, so long as you spend $50 or more in the prior 6 months, you'll be on Silver. $500+ is Gold and $1000+ is Platinum.

          I hope this helps.

          Jay

          • @aminozcomau: Thanks Jay!
My previous loyalty stuff will expire in 5 days - I assume this current order won't extend that for another 6 months?

E.g. in 5 months time I will only have todays order's worth of loyalty points, not today's AND 6 months ago's

            • +1

              @Wolfenstein98k: You're correct @Wolfenstein98k

On any given day, the system will just look back at all the orders in the last 6 months from that date only. It's the total amount spent in that time.

              Jay

              • @aminozcomau: Love it, thanks. Very clear.

Love your work as always. I exclusively shop with you guys in equal parts for your service, as much as the product. Keep it up.

                • @Wolfenstein98k: Thanks again @Wolfenstein98k, I really appreciate the kind words and ongoing support.

                  Jay

  • does this sale include pre-workout or creatine?

    • @Palomino yes, it does.

Our Creatine is $37 Delivered with this code.

All our Amino Z Pre-Workouts will be 30% off the full price - Complete, High-Stim, Non-Stim. They also come with free delivery.

Thanks for asking and I hope this helps!

      Jay

  • Can I drink skim milk instead of protein powder?

    • +3

@muwu while skim milk will contain some whey protein, it is low in protein relative to our protein powder. Skim milk is also much higher in sugar.

WPI does use milk as the source, but it is very highly processed to reduce carbs/fats and increase protein percentage.

To illustrate, comparing dry skim milk powder (eg. this to our protein powder (noting I'm comparing powder to powder, so like for like), per 100g:

      • Skim Milk Powder is 52% carbohydrate vs 1.2-10% in our STRAIGHT/CORE range or up to 24.4% in the INDULGE range
      • Skim Milk Powder is 36% protein vs up to 90% in our range (variable based on the flavour - see table above)

Also note that only a portion of the protein in skim milk powder is whey protein. The majority will be a casein protein which is a much slower digesting protein than whey.

I hope this provides some insight.

      Jay

      • Drinking 825mL of skim milk has a protein equivalency to one serving of protein powder. Will be x2.3 the energy. Will have many micronutrients (e.g. calcium) as a whole food. Sugar is lactose, natural and slow-absorbing, contributing to its higher energy / carb source for glycogen. Protein will be slower absorbing then the concentrate powder.

Cost per serving are nearly the same, ~$1.30.

Is the primary difference speed of delivery (powder) vs. nutritrious whole food consumption spread over the day (skim milk)?

        • +4

Agreed to the above - there are definitely benefits in consumer less refined foods such as the micronutrients you have identified above.

A major difference will be in the speed of delivery of the protein as you have identified. The protein powder itself is effectively a supplement due to its refined nature and would be suited to particular use cases. For example:

          • After a workout - rapid absorption of a high quality protein
          • If you have particular dietary requirements (eg. low carb)
          • Losing weight (eg. use as a lower calorie alternative) or something as an enjoyable and potentially healthier option (eg. A chocolate protein shake vs a milkshake)

That said, I certainly wouldn't be going around replacing all your food with supplements. This is only here to compliment a balanced diet, which will likely be full of whole foods.

          I hope this helps.

          Jay

          • -1

@aminozcomau: Re: Rapid protein absorption post-workout

What's the research data on timing of a daily protein target for growth of lean muscle?

            • +1

@muwu: To be transparent, I am not an expert in this area and individual requirements will vary greatly dependant upon a wide number of factors (training, exercise, body mass, goals, lifestyle etc).

This is not prescriptive, but generally speaking, after an intense training session you would be looking to consume an appropriate amount of protein to help facilitate recovery. Most people will consume around 25-30g of protein, but this will vary based on individual requirements.

We have a couple of studies cited in the Q&A tab on the product page, but there is a tonne of research out there.

              Jay

              • -1

@aminozcomau: I understand from research reviews that timing of protein consumption (presuming same totals) does not correlate with a statistical significant differences in lean muscle weight growth. E.g. 5 vs 3 meals, windows pre/post stimulus, sleep/fasting durations.

                • +1

@muwu: This would be beyond my scope of knowledge as I'm certainly not an expert in this space and this is an extremely broad area of research.

You could take a look into those two articles cited on our product page as a starting point, but then you can certainly go down a rabbit hole with all the research out there around protein supplementation, meal consumption and timing. Google Scholar is always a good resource.

                  Jay

  • Damn…was holding out for so long only to buy it a few weeks ago.

    • Sorry you missed it @RockyK9

We don't run these big protein deals too often, but I do greatly appreciate the support of our brand outside of these deals.

      Jay

  • Please consider doing a 'cordial style' clear flavoured whey, designed to be mixed with water.

    • +1

Thanks for the suggestion @end user

This is something we are working on. It's a much harder ingredient to work with, so we're still working out some challenges and so we don't yet have a release date. But we do plan to have something in this category eventually.

I appreciate the feedback, thanks for the support!

      Jay

    • I mix all my whey proteins with water. Helps control calorie intake and adds to my water consumption for the day. Every flavour I've ever had apart from natural work fine in water with a good shaker.

      • I get what you're saying, but I just don't like the flavour of chocolate water.

        • Fair enough. Come to think of it, I've never had chocolate!
Vanilla works well with water. Seems like melon milk, strawberry, taro milk and iced coffee would also go pretty well.
Anyway, I'm performance>flavour. So maybe don't take my word for it.

  • Cleary need to take my time reading. Didn’t notice the 5kg option. Already ordered 4. Possible to get a kg added and bank transfer the difference?
