I ported in last month via an older sim starter pack and after activiating the physical sim I was able to instantly switch to an esim via the Boost app. I tossed the physical sim card right after.

  • Has anyone confirmed these will still activate after Boost has removed this plan?

    • +1

      Yes, on Boost website…

Yes, you will be able to redeem all SIMs and vouchers purchased before 22 October 2024 for the value at which you purchased them.

    • +1

      https://news.boost.com.au/latest-plans/

From 22 October 2024 the price of some of our plans will change. If you buy a SIM today, you’ll get the current data and inclusions upon activation, even if you activate after 22 October 2024. However, if you recharge on or after 22 October, some options will change.

longer expiry date link is expired, alternative could be this one with free ebay plus express shipping for the same price using the same code

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/176246527041

    ACTIVATE BY : 14 July 2025

    • He said don't ask for refund if it's not porting, though his expiry date is in July.
Wondering if it won't port in next year …

    • I ordered from this one and expiry is 2025-01-06, it is NOT 14 July 2025, disputing now :(

    • Received sim with expiry date 6/1/2025. Sent message to seller asking how to return :-(

      • I got one with 2025-09-08, even longer than July, anyway it doesn't matter as I will use it within this year

Boost always the best compare to like Optus or Voda in my area, but been with Coles for 3 yrs, so far so good. I am very afraid to leave when I first port over to Coles they screwed up my number with both sims active after activation, ended me took this to telco ombudsman after 1 week to quickly resolved the issue, worry if I leave will ended up with worst sh|ts happen to my number …

    • Port failed?

  • If you just want to be on the Telstra network but not concerned with the amount of data, would the Telstra long plan $160 for 120gb be good? Would that also give you access to the Telstra perks?

    • +1

That is a 6 month plan

Has anyone experienced porting across from Telstra prepaid to Boost recently? I tried porting a few years ago, they lost my number and I got stuck in limbo for a week. Not sure I want to try it again…

    • +1

Yeah I did it beginning of the year. It was a smooth and painless experience.

    • Very smooth, did it on Sunday. got an esim. On the hind side I spent the full price $230 :(

    • Didnt work on the site on the weekend, so had to use chat. Went ok. Both share the same infrastructure and accounts.

Another phone yesterday worked online fine. No chat agent intervention needed.

Telstra prepaid —-> Boost can be all done via My Boost app and is straight forward (ie can use a $2 Telstra sim to port to and back when "recharging" your Boost service) However Telstra Postpaid —> Boost is painful and either need Telstra to change plan to prepaid and port to Boost or get Boost chat to do it manually.

  • Anyone used Boost when crossing from SA to WA?
    Intend to use with navigation

    • Not sure whereabouts in WA you are looking to travel to, but my experience driving from Perth up to Exmouth and back on a holiday, is that Boost really is top notch. Nothing else works. Ever since then I have been on Boost, and even labelled a 'Boost shill' :)

    • +2

Yeh… Typical Telstra coverage, there's towers at all the towns and roadhouses and the coverage extends a fair distance either side of them…. There are dead areas but it's not a big deal, you really don't need navigation out there anyway ;) (fairly sure there's no Optus or Voda anywhere across there)

      • +1

        Excellent, appreciate your reply.

  • I’m not travelling interstate or internationally over next year so wish me luck I purchased kogan (Voda) with that $120 for 200gb plan and I’m based in Sydney 😬✌️

  • +2

Wish I’d gone this rather than vodaphone 5g plan, can’t believe how bad their coverage is

  • Stayyyyyyyyy away from Vodafone, I'm buying this to port back to Boost after 12 painful months with Vodafone.

  • -2

Wtf!! I literally bought this for $230 on Sunday :(

  • Activated one of these yesterday and its still giving out the bonus 10gb it seems. Started at 170gb. I thought that offer had ended.

  • Picked up one of these on the last deal for $190, with an expiry of April 25. Ideally after another with an expiry of August/September 25

  • Will they give you a free Sim for porting out and back in?

    • Answering my own question, yes they will if you leave a message with your order 😊

      • Did you try this? Is this confirmed by Lucky Mobile?
What free SIM would be provided?

Price had changed too… now $207, with code $187. Auditech is cheaper.

        • I asked them via message and they said they could do this if I left a message with the order.

          • @Alzori: I see. I messaged them yesterday, no response so far.

  • Any more long expiry besides January 2025?

  • Where can I find Boost $230 SIM plans for longer expiry dates ?

The linked item needs to activated by 9/1/25. I am looking for something which lasts atleast beyond March 2025.

  • My plan ends 25/01. Need a $230 sim boost..

  • +1

$188.50 direct from the retailer (including free postage) - https://luckymobile.com.au/mobile-plus/product/prepaid-boost…

  • FYI the seller in the long expiry link has updated the item description to an expiry date in January 2025 in the last day or two. So if you have bought one because you wanted an expiry later next year, you will be disappointed with what you will receive.

    • Yes. I ordered from Auditech at 12:47pm on the 12th when the description still stated a Sep 2025 expiry. I received a Jan 2025 expiry Sim. I'm still waiting for the seller to respond to the message I sent yesterday afternoon.

      • Will you do an 'item not as described' return?

        • +1

Probably. I want to get the seller's response first. I still want a sim that's dated July 2025 or later, so want to vent my annoyance at the seller first. I could have bought a different sim if I'd known that their sim was falsely advertised.

          • @Taiguile: I got this message from the seller "We noticed some buyers bought the SIM while we were updating the description to reflect the new expiry date. Nothing to worry, please raise a return request via eBay and we are happy to pay for the return postage."

Not ideal, but not the end of the world.

  • -1

does this work for recharging an existing boost plan?

  • No longer available via eBay. Still available via Lucky Mobile's website although Sims will be posted no earlier than 23/8

  • +2

It really sucks that Telstra are putting up their prices on all plans and Boost cancelling their only midrange yearly plan leaving only $300 and $365 yearly plans.

Is this their way of users having to pay premiums even although they dont need that much data/year? Sounds more like a tactical Monopoly deploying opportunistic moves.

Wouild love to hear from industry pro's who have the true goss to why they have or are erasing customers due to erasing midrange yearly plans.

There are other industries following suit bit by bit, slowly, but surely, Sickenly sad when you cant rely on Voda or Optus with cheap but half baked operational plans.

  • I am on Coles Mobile $150 plan which is due to expire in a week's time. Given Coles have stopped that plan, what are the equivalent alternatives if anyone can suggest similar plans?

  • Has anyone received this yet? I bought on the 12th and still waiting.

    • I did… yesterday

      • Was the expiry date the correct one for your sim?

        • Didn't look at it as I need it for this month .. but let me check …..

          It is 2025-01-06
