This is so rotten, have signed the petition and written to the minister (not even a reply) as well as federal member (useless reply).
My elderly Mum suddenly lost calls with ALDI mobile on Nokia phone. There's literally no warning or information about what going on. Her 4G phone is still for sale in JB so not an obscure model, but shouldn't matter if it was. Anyway I guess most people would be conned into buying the latest apple/Samsung at Telstra store but luckily we got it working again on Vodafone thanks to Reddit.How do you get your phone to work on Vodafone ? I couldn't find it on Reddit … mine sharing the article on Reddit?
So either JB are breaching the ACL or Telstra have incorrectly/mistakenly blocked it…
Can this deal work in an Optus modem?
As in all cases, depends on if the device is locked to original provider.
If anyone is interested for future deals… Yes it works with an Optus modem…
Be aware that Catch is with Optus and if you have a non-Apple/Samsung/Google phone there is a fair chance Optus may be blocking it under the 3g (+lots of 4g and 5g) shut off when those 5g phones work perfectly well under Telstra.
If that sounds like you it could be an unwelcome shock if you're planning to shift over from Boost or Belong or any other Telstra network and you find you're relatively new 5g phone is bricked by Optus.
