Have been waiting to buy myself one of these?

You were also looking for this for quite some time.

  • Yeah.. Have been waiting for a cheaper price, i got different unit on seconds for 500.. won't do that again.

    • Why's that?

All these auto units are destination problems if you aren't a tinkerer.
Common sense… Coffee grinds wear away o-rings, milk solids clog up small air spaces, o-rings in hot things go brittle.

Doesn't matter if new or old. Same maintenance will apply.

P.S. there is no such things as good auto milk. Save your money, buy an entry machine with a manual milk wand (brew chamber is identical). Less maintenance hassel, less money, better coffee. No brainer.

You can get it from Costco for $1299, which is cheaper than this deal even if you add the $65 Costco membership fee.

      https://www.costco.com.au/c/DeLonghi-Eletta-Explore-Automati…

  • Anyone know the difference between this and ECAM450.86.T (Eletta Explore Titanium)? Only difference I could see on the website was ECAM450.86.T let’s you use the app.

I thought I’d read the ECAM450.86.T was the newer model, yet its regular price is $1799 vs this one at $1999.

    • Yeah it's confusing. De'longhi tend to use the "Titanium" modifier to mean newer / extra features.

  • anyone have issues with the milk/water sprouts?

make sure you soak them in warm water with dishwashing liquid for around half an hour then place them in dishwasher. This will ensure no milk solid buildup inside as this will affect the foaming. Also dunk your brewer in warm water once a week to remove coffee oil clogs. (no dishwashing liquid)

been using mine for a year and a half daily. Works well. As long as you keep up with cleaning and maintenance, youll be fine.

  • What solution have you been using to descale? I see the Delonghi one is around $30 for 500ml

There are three models which have identical grinding/brewing mechanisms and I'm currently waiting on a good deal on any one of them—

    • Dinamica Plus — will buy under $1200, but nobody has stock, Costco out of stock at $999.
    • Eletta Explore Grey — will buy under $1200, best price is Costco at $1299 or this deal at $1397.
    • Eletta Explore Titanium — will buy under $1500, currently available for $1652 from Kitchen Warehouse.

All of these models are functionally identical, with the major differences being—

    • Dinamica Plus — App connect
    • Eletta Explore Grey — Cold brew, taller cups
    • Eletta Explore Titanium — App connect, cold brew, taller cups, the prettiest looking

The Dinamica Plus is IMHO the pick of the bunch unless you like cold coffee or very large cups, especially if you can get it for $999 as listed on the Costco website. Unfortunately it's out of stock and isn't listed on the De'longhi website at all. (Note that the Dinamica non-plus is an older unit with an inferior grinding/brewing mechanism and fewer features.)

The Eletta Explore series is hundreds of dollars more to get identical hot coffee performance. The grey model it looks fine in the marketing photos, it's IMHO ugly in real world pictures taken by customers/reviewers. Haven't seen it in person. The cost differential is insane over the Dinamica Plus, assuming the Costco price ever surfaces again.

There is a model called Magnifica Evo Titanium (not black or silver-black) which has an identical grinding/brewing mechanism but it's software locked to a smaller quantity of coffee per shot, and the milk carafe is not double wall insulated.

    • Update: I think the Dinamica Plus is being discontinued for the brand new Revelia series…

    • Cold brew on the eletta models.

Great for the hotter months over ice.

  • Got this for 1100 during the great Ozbargain Delonghi purges of November 2022.

Great machine and still going strong.
haven’t had to descale it since I’m using filtered water.
