Beautiful watch. I love mine :)

Agree. The photo does not do it justice. It has a milky shine to the blue that is hard to describe.

  • Waiting for a deal on the red dial

  • I haven’t seen this in person, can we return if don’t like?

    • Hardlex glass

Funny how that's absent from the Specs tab for this watch, but they always have crystal spec for watches that feature sapphire.

Hi there. Hardlex glass is marked in the description. We are using a new search system that will have the crystal type as one of the filter fields. All the items are being indexed and will be updated shortly.

      • Omfg the feature we need 🙏🏻

    But sapphire can break easier?

Whereas hardlex has lesser scratch resistance.

So trading pros and cons really.

And at this price it's reasonable to have hardlex.

    • +1

For watches targetted toward everyday wear or not used in high-risk environments, scratch resistance is more desired than shatter resistance.

I have had a Seiko Solar chronograph for 10 years now (Sept 2014) and I just looked at it and not another scratch on the dial.

Having said that the design of it means it doesn't get knocked on the side.

But based on my experience the Hardlex does just fine… I got more knicks on the stainless chassis/strap which shoes its age. The glass itself is perfect.

I have a few Seikos with Hardlex and haven't had scratches. Hardlex would not stop me buying a watch.

          • @ihfree: I have a presage. I wear it everyday. Unfortunately it has few scratches. I can feel them with my fingernails.
I believe it's due to the dome shape that quite protruding, it has higher chance of getting scratches. I still love it. Very mesmerising face dial, and the hands looks so clean and sharp.

            • @jolygood: I also have a presage, though, not everyday wear. I love the dial on it.

From what I've read, one downside of Hardlex is that scratches are harder to remove. That said, If they're not noticeable or bothering you, who cares? Just enjoy the watch.

    • I look at it this way; most people are more likely to bump their watch in a way which would scratch a mineral crystal but not a sapphire crystal than they are to bump their watch in a way which will shatter a sapphire crystal but not a mineral crystal.

Yes, both mineral crystal and sapphire crystal have their benefit but the benefit of sapphire will likely be more relevant to most use cases.

  • Was waiting for the Green Dial :(

    • @StarBuy any chance for the same price

      • +2

Unfortunately the green dial was not offered to us by Seiko for a deal.

    • but did u think the gold second hand looks good or strange?

This is a beautiful watch. Was gifted one this week and really love it.

      That's the best deal price

    • Nice gift. Lucky you!

  • Nice looking watch and a great price, can't help comparing everything to the Star Bar though :-(

Looks beautiful but seems like you can't get it anymore lol

Looks nice. Shame it is open heart.

      • Not a fan of open heart?

        • Not really. Not when little to no effort is put into it.
          Same goes for skeleton watches.

Don't just delete the dial or put a hole in the dial and call it job done.
The movement has to be made to look special to be worthy of replacing a nice dial.
For most skeleton and open heart watches, you're just looking through to an ordinary movement.

    hardlex.. next!

    • For $300 hardlex is a reasonable trade-off.

      • I guess so. but still I am not buying another hardlex watch, easier to resist these deals this way 😋

  • I wish they made it $300 so I can get GST back via TRS.

  • Got this for same price in Starbuy sale in May.

Great watch, rivals my ice blue Cocktail Time. Also quite like the slightly smaller diall.

  • The new Presage GMTs look great but somehow I don't think we'll ever see them discounted

  • Great deal on a great looking watch. Waiting for Irish Coffee at this price to pop my cocktail cherry.

I really want to like that watch with the brown dial and gold hands & indexes, but the silver stainless steel case clashes a bit. It would have been far nicer in a gold coloured case, methinks.

      • 100% agree. Tbh it's mostly because I can't get the Old Fashioned (SRPD36J1) out of my head :(
