Get around that by using a US shipping forwarder such as Shipito for example.
Don't know if anyone stocks it in Australia, but all the big retailers regularly have 20% off Lego sales.
RRP in Australia is $699… 20% off is still $559… and they rarely have these big ones in stock anywhere.
Big W have the exclusive right to the SSD. They had it in the mid year sale.
Shopforme sells these items here. At the moment, they only have 20% discount for the Super Star Destroyer 10221 (original price $700 now $559) and Star Wars Imperial Shuttle 10212 (original price $450 now $360)
The best price I saw they had the Death Star 10188 on sale last Friday (black Friday sale) was 35% off to $455 - but that lasted around 5 mins before selling out.
