Nice lappy. Still too much $ for me.

  • Great price. I'd buy one if I didn't already have a smaller one. 4050 graphics + 3k + oled + 1tb is fantastic

    • +2

For 2 grand this is just not a shit price, nowhere near "fantastic". Wow! A 3k screen, sure hope the lowest end GPU from nvidia will be able to handle that…

And 1tb… Man storage is not a bargain selling point, just buy a laptop with expandable storage (and memory) and upgrade yourself (if the manufacturer voids your warranty for this simply do not purchase their products as they are scum)

With the recent worry about the 13 and 14th gen chips, intel are saying it doesn't affect mobiles…. people are reporting otherwise. I would be much more averse due to how annoying a warranty repair or worse a recall would be.

Intel has said a lot of things…

      • It was the overclockers
      • It was the motherboard makers
      • It's the GPU drivers
      • No RMA
      • Then yes RMA, but not tray chips
      • You can try to RMA but it may take multiple attempts

100% I would definitely not buy any Intel 13 or 14th gen chips. They deserve their massive stock crash the way they are behaving about this. They also deserve all the class action lawsuits they are going to get from this.

AMD has been the price/performance winner for a while. Now they can add "actually works" to their pros list!

what's the real world battery like op?

  • +2

Nice specs but 16:9 aspect ratio screen :(

      Came here for this.

  • Yeah why not 16" instead?

  • Is this a good gaming laptop? Thanks

  • +3

Needs 32gb ram at this price tbh

Would Lightroom and Photoshop run flawlessly on this?

    • I reckon it would run good. The cpu and gpu are pretty decent

    • Looking for a thin and light or just a work horse with good screen?

      • Just a workhorse with good screen

        • if youre a true ozbargainer have a look at your local second hand market (fb gumtree etc). for two grand i reckon you could be bumped up to an i9 with a 4060 (but dont get intel atm as 13 and 14th gen are having issues).

this one at ow is good (however is one generation behind newest for amd so i wouldnt really recommend to be completely frank): https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/infinity-q…

if you know someone in canada or america get this from best buy? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14-oled-3…

also zen 5 is coming out soon so if you can hold off a month or two youll see heaps of old stock being moved out to make room for the new computers (in australia usually making room for laptops that are a gen or two behind sigh). anyways make sure if youre buying amd you get smth with (for ryzen 7) 74 or (for ryzen 9) 84* or 94 (i think) (* being wildcards), or greater. if youre looking at anything with **3* then just look into older laptops with 5*** or 6*** as theyll be the exact same (not kidding) and, probably, much cheaper.

anyways itll be a pain to look around but for <2000 dollars ryzen 7, rtx 4060, 1tb storage, oled screen (or high quality (not resolution but quality) IPS (or whatever the tech is now), in all honesty for a laptop sized screen anything over 2k is genuinely not visible to human eyes from the usual distance a laptop is, and for lightroom and photoshop refresh rate wont be that important)) and 16gb (minimum (and i highly recommend getting the 32gb if its soldered on i.e not upgradeable)) is a good deal otherwise everything is kinda meh.

however now that i see you need for just lightroom an photoshop im pretty sure those are cpu intensive (i might be wrong), and in that case definitely amd and oled and a laptop like that would run you easily closer to 1000-1500 (price difference for screen quality, storage and memory)

Why would you invest in an Intel laptop at the moment, which could be a ticking timebomb. The company won't give a straight answer as to what the issue is with 13th/14th gen slowly dying, considering leakers seem to contradict Intel's official statements.

Their share price is tanking, and they are planning on sacking 10,000+ employees due to not meeting expectations.

    • How's the snapdragon going?

      • +1

The main issue with Snapdragon at the moment is software compatibility with x86 applications. You can get one and be a beta tester, or wait for one more generation after their development kit comes out. Hopefully it will have better support for bespoke applications.

Software such as Google Drive just don't work at the moment.

first they went tick, tock, tick, tock
then they went tick, tock, tock, tic
      then they went boom

Firstly, not that great of a deal, 2 grand you can get one of those laptops off aliexpress and they'll be higher quality and the newest gen AMD.

The high end mobile AMD APUs are actually insane and will be more than enough for 99% of people. The 4050 in this would only be good for cuda based workloads, but for 2 grand give a 4060 at minimum.

Anyways as other people have said don't buy due to Intel being a shitty company with 13th and 14th gen chips dying left and right. Please see gamersnexus' reports on this to date. This company should not be supported in its current state and must learn (share price dropping by +30% still hasn't made them learn).

Downvote for the product and chance of it being faulty along with not a great deal (however for 1400 at OW thats a good deal).

Not the fault of the poster and can the mods allow down voting more often??? Like they'll be the most dog shit over priced garbage (this isn't that bad), and you can't down vote because "oh it's actually a deal from this company and ignore how they jack up the prices and reduce it". Seems more like people are getting paid to remove down votes. Like hey this is ozbargain, the things being shared and upvoted must be bargains within the whole market, not just specifically for some model or company. It'll allow for more and better discourse and lead to more competition from marketers as people will discuss between products and groups rather than just " oh last year it was 10 dollars and now its 11 dollars #bad" anyways rant over

  • thanks ozbargain brainstrust for the discussion on intel processor woes. I avoid the mainstream media as much as I can but have been surprised how little attention this has received other than in terms of Intel's share price tanking. The claim that its only desktop processors that have been impacted seems to be getting challenged. And I'm needing to buy a laptop. Good deals on Intel machines coming? AMD price rises coming? Confusing times.

    • 12th gen intel feel free to purchase, but at that point just look into anything amd 5000+ series stuff itll be better overall (gpu and cpu and battery life) (assuming like for like products)
