Not the biggest discount if you go by Amazon's Price but the game doesn't look like it has been released yet in Australia, and it's cheaper than any of the pre-order prices anyway according to BGO.

Looks like a fun game but I'm not in a position to buy it right now. Maybe one day…

Description

In Let's Go! To Japan, you are a traveler planning, then experiencing your own dream vacation to Japan.

The game consists of thirteen rounds in which players draw activity cards illustrated by Japan-based artists and strategically place them in different days in their week-long itinerary. These can't-miss tourist attractions will have you bouncing between Tokyo and Kyoto as you try to puzzle out the optimal activities to maximize your experience while balancing your resources. The game ends with a final round in which you ultimately go on your planned trip, activating each of your cards in order along the way.

The player who collects the most points by the end of their trip wins!

LOL, this triggered both my "Japan" alert and my "Board Game" alert.

    Klaus Schwab approved.

with Yen keep getting lower and lower, traveling to Japan might actually be cheaper than playing the board game.

    • Doesn't help when the AUD is getting weaker as well.

commies want equal outcome for all, so we're getting there.

Its a fun set collection game and the theme and aesthetics are amazing. I'd rate it as a light solitaire game but very enjoyable.

If you care about the condition of your board games, I'd think twice about getting them from Amazon US. Last 2 games I received from the US, one was shipped in a padded bag and arrived dinged up, and the second just had the shipping sticker applied to the box and arrived with a hole in it and a worse for wear condition.

The game, especially the theme looks amazing. Having lived in Japan for a while it really resonates with me and I really think I can push my wife into playing this game. I just don't think she is ready yet and we have a lot of other games we can try before this one so I will wait a little bit.

I've been generally pretty lucky overall and I've bought a lot of games from Amazon. I think i have had one or two game sent to me with the shipping sticker applied directly to the box, and I think both were from Amazon AU.

I'm usually really pedantic with looking after my stuff but I think with regards to the box, I'm a tiny bit more lenient. No matter how hard I try to look after the box, it inevitably gets banged up. Obviously I'd prefer it to arrive undamaged but I'm less hung up about it now. I think if it's something for a gift or something really important then maybe, yeah, buy it from someone else. In any case, I do want to try to buy from smaller stores wherever I can. The price difference can be hard to look past though.
