Was looking at air purifiers, saw this. Seems a decent deal for the CADR / Coverage space. Fairly Cheap filters.

Renpho seem to have a newer model, AP-089 @ $199 but seems impossible to get filters and unsure if 088 filters fit.

Says TrueHEPA, No ozone (Negative ions or whatever spin they put on it)

Maybe a deal?

Had this one for a while. Works really well.

The highest setting is fairly loud but anything under is quite reasonable.

You can choose the colour of the light bar and completely turn it off as well.

    • I'm thinking about getting one, but I'm worried about filter replacements. Is it easy/cheap to get generics?

I haven’t looked sorry. I think my box came with two and at the time I bought another two which I haven’t gone through yet.

I have two long hair cats and even vacuuming and steam mopping every couple days, the filter catches some hair and dirt particles and stuff.

I suffer from asthma and this thing has been brilliant for my apartment.

buy some pool socks like these:

(they're cheaper on ebay and other places I'm sure)

Put them over the hepa filter, change them every month or so. Should help prolong the life of the actual hepa filter as they catch the larger crap

CADR is 170 m³/h when on the highest setting. The IKEA UPPÅTVIND air purifier is $49 and delivers 95m m³/h - two will outperform this unit for under $100…

I have this and all settings are loud ,low and medium make motor noise can't use it a night because of the noise.

Totally agree about the motor noise. No issues in the day but when it is quiet, there's an annoying high pitch eeeee sound.
