    🤣🤣🤣

$2 is the most I'd pay for it…

I really thought post covid they would add some new restaurants but I struggle to see anything of use.

It doesn't help that there isn't any way to see new restaurants that are added.

    • They have added a heap of restaurants near me (inner Melbourne)

      • How exactly can you tell? Just noticing new restaurants while scrolling?

"Eat Club" for the win these days.

    • +4

Eat Club isn't really a replacement as you can't plan anything more then a few hours ahead with Eat Club. Its main use is that you are already somewhere and you want something to eat in the area or maybe you are at home and your decision to eat out is if there is an EatClub deal at the moment.

The winning combination is Entertainment book + Eat club to stack discounts (for dine-in only)

      • Be careful. I did this once and had an offshored person from EatClub call me on a Sunday begging for an amount back as the restaurant complained to them about the double discount.

This is a flaw in EatClub's system if the restaurant can't tell who is using it. Under no circumstances should an offshored EatClub person call and sms begging for a few dollars, particularly on a Sunday.

I mean you would have to be pretty horrible to do a double discount on a restaurant that wasn't a big chain. They might have 50% margins but there is no way they have 75% margins.

even if its free its useless ..most of the deals are already present on other platform for free

  • Is this even worthy of anything ?

    • I save hundreds to thousands of dollars a year with the entertainment book. It has two for one IMAX and aquarium and a lot in it besides just food

  • +2

It’s a scam, bought it last year, lots of place don’t even accept it.

  • +2

It used to be really good value many years ago.
Nowadays there are discounts everywhere which you can access for free.
you also never know if a restaurant will honour the coupon code. I had an experience in Tassie where they refused to honour it, basically didn’t even know about it.

    Please fix the misleading title.

    • Updated by Mod just before you posted.

  • As I've said in previous posts, the removal of the ALH Pubs killed the Entertainment App for me. Not enough value for me anymore.

  • I remember my mum having one in the early 00s and it being an absolute godsend for a weekend about. Having a look through whats on offer now, I swear better deals come up from the vendors direct if you just wait for something to come up.. I reckon youd break a sweat trying to get $70 worth of value before expiry.

I saved way more than $40 in the last 99c 3-month offer so it can definitely be worth it. Was pretty easy to save >$40 in two dinners at places we usually eat at and don't have discounts/offers elsewhere.

Never been rejected with Entertainment, but I definitely prefer Eat Club wherever its available.

  • Light of other years .. 😌 .. !!

Free NRMA membership has similar discounts and offers

I eat out at pubs fairly often with my partner and the Entertainment membership pays itself off pretty quickly after a few 50% off deals.

EatClub is great now but most the deals are in the CBD. If we want to have a quick meal at a pub we're not going to drive all the way to the city.

Are there any other apps I'm missing? I'm Adelaide based.

    • Liven used to be good, but they are pretty lousy now.

  • First Table is awesome. You just need to be happy with early dinner times. The lunch times are much better.

  • Probably good if you're travelling. There are some great restaurants in Queenstown NZ which are in the book

  • I think it's worth it.
Go to the Pancake Parlour in Melbourne and get 25% off.
Go to Donut King and get donuts for when the family is over or two hotdogs for the price of one.

Had San Churro the other day.

My local bowling alley is in there.

If it's then freely upgraded to multi-city and you go to Queensland then you've got all the restaurants up there.

    • I mean all of those places are overpriced to begin with so its fine if you need to go there, but you will get better pancakes, donuts and churros elsewhere.

  • Just joined Eatclub today (my cousin used it for Deep End Pizza in Melbourne last week and I was impressed with the ease) and also bought an entertainment book membership as the multi city option is pretty good as I tend to fly to Sydney and Brisbane a lot so will be useful.
