I bought a pair of the XM5's for a mate who was daily driving the XM4's. As much as he appreciated the gift, after a week of testing, he went back to the XM4's. The foldability and comfort was a huge deal breaker for him. ANC and Sound profile were negligible between the two.
I think sony messed up with the XM4's in a way! They were way too good of a product in so many ways. Now releases after can barely make improvements.
Yes, the XM3's actually have better noise reduction than XM4 and XM5 according to rtings.com

True. Had the similar experience. Arrived in a box with no blemishes. Idk why it was seconds as I could not see any blemishes.

I've had these since they first came out to replace a set of XM3s I lost. I can't recommend them enough!
I had to replace the ear cups after a while but I use mine A LOT!!! Like, every day for at least a few hours. I also exercise with them on. And the battery is still good after countless recharges.
Wish I could say the same about the batteries on my Galaxy Pro Buds…

I bought refurbs a couple years ago at the same price. The came brand new, I wouldn't be concerned about what condition they are in, this is excellent pricing. Better ANC than the bose qc although I would argue less comfy.

Paid $335 for the XM5's with last month's deal. The extra $85 or so was worth it for me, personally, but the issue with people hearing themselves during calls is bad and the touch sensor randomly goes haywire sometimes when I'm not even moving. The sound is much clearer than the XM4's though, I'm using the Bright EQ setting. Interestingly, the WF XM5 earbuds equivalent sounds even better and less compressed.

Received mine. As others have mentioned brand new in retail box. The box was a bit scuffed up but the contents were factory new.
Want to know if yours came with a strong scent on the earpads? Don't know if its the cleaning agent they used for refurb or the previous owner had the strongest cologne on wearing it. It's like walking past someone who's about to go to some party and has doused himself in the spray.
No offensive cleaner/cologne smell, just a factory fresh smell. Maybe I got lucky.
