      Are you ok?

    • +6

You won't find that in China. Try Palau or Indonesia.

    • This deal will fly out the door.

      typical deluded bogan comment

This isn't twitter mate, quit searching for internet fights.

It's sad that the infamous Seafood Market has been annihilated by the undefeatable power

    • I only see a poor thing brain washed by media.

  • +6

Not bad, and Xi'an is a fab city. Holding out for another deal around $400 return. Thanks OP.

    • +1

The linked Hainan deals have cheaper flights to Xi'an, just not direct, if that helps.

  • Any Deals of departing in December?

why is there so many ads on the home page for BTF?

That why I don't use them.

Bali is shit compared to what you can get in China.

If the airfares can come down a bit more, more will go to China for a holiday than Japan.

    • +3

We went to Japan via China earlier this year for $590 return Air China.

      It was excellent!

    • +9

Yeah nah, no one in their right mind would consider heading to China over Japan for a holiday. Your post history on every post to do with China is also a little, how shall we say, interesting…

      • +3

Not any less interesting than your username haiyaaa

what's that got to do with good tourist destinations? some of my best overseas trips have been to developing nations in SA/SEA

    • -1

Can’t even pay cash at half the places in China. Can’t set up WeChat pay without a Chinese bank card. Can’t communicate because (profanity) all people speak English.

I have loved my trips to China but it’s just not for the average holidaymaker.

      • +12

You are so out of date. Both can be linked with foreign credit cards. I was there in April for work and was very impressed by how advanced and affordable it is.

        • +1

Lol just looked up it. That was introduced last July.

      • -1

What the heck you can't just pay with credit cards?
        That seems needlessly complicated.

        • I’m sure there are places with card readers the ubiquitous payment method is AliPay/WeChat Pay. There’s infrastructure in place to keep your phone charged, so it works pretty well.

If foreigners can use the apps now it’s fine. Just sucked a year ago getting turned away from places which only accepted WeChat pay.

        • -5

It's due to ccp needing control over chinese citizen's lives.
If you have poor social/financial/political credit scores, ccp can restrict your ability to pay.
The country desperately needs to read animal farm and 1984.

  • Somewhat unrelated, has anyone flew to Europe with China Eastern / China Southern and how is it?

    • +4

We did Air China to Japan, 2 flights. Their long haul planes are good and new. The connecting flight from Beijing to Tokyo was an old plane but it was only 3h.

There are a few review videos online which seems like they are using the new a350 to Europe. So I recommend check what plane it is and that will give you a better idea.

      • Air China seems to have improved in 30 years when it was part of CAAC, the civil aviation authority. My one experience was in 1992 Sydney to Beijing via Guangzhou "business" class - boarded on time in Sydney, sat on the tarmac for 3 hours refreshed by one glass of orange cordial. Business was full, First was empty of passengers but full of the cabin staff. Arrived too late in Guangzhou to meet Beijing curfew. Parked at airbridge but it was locked. The entire 747 got off via steep emergency steps from the closed airbridge, with staff pushing head to get off first. An hour or two of confusion in the old terminal then passport and customs and bus to crumbling hotel. Another hour in the hotel reception then a basic room after midnight with peeling bright green paint and mouldy shower. Then 6am bus to the wrong terminal and a longish walk with luggage to the right terminal. Two hour wait at checkin then an uneventful flight to Beijing arriving 20 hours late.

I did it in April/May with China Eastern. Pretty decent.. modern planes, good economy seats and space. English is generally poor. Entertainment system pretty bad. Food was ok, hit and miss.. but that's normal with most airlines. Shanghai airport is ok for transit, modern..

    • Yes, in May with Eastern.

It was fine. It was about a 5 hr stopover in Shanghai, which was fine. And I could depart from Rome, which was pretty useful.

I preferred landing at Gatwick to LHR too.

Obviously it was cheap, the food was awful. Some of the guests are.. uncouth..

The 787 was nice. The A350 was nice. The 777 was horrendous, as they always are.

    A steal for direct flight

  • +2

Looking at the dates. It seems like all the examples are for flights with stays more than 15 days. Australians can go to China visa free for 15 days. More than that you need to have a pleasant visit to local China visa processing centre.

  • Which month is the best month to go, in terms of weather/seasons?

    • +1

      Avoid June/July/August - it get's stinking hot.
December/January meanwhile can get very snowy and cold, so I'd avoid that too.

March/April/May would be my recommended times. Avoid October as there's a National Holiday and the country gets on the move then.

  • Any deals coming soon for flights to Bali? Looking at end of January still during school holidays.

  • -1

Damn they can't give these away. Demand and loadings must be very low.

    • Cost of living crisis! People are cutting back

  • Why is Sydney more expensive than Melbourne? Are they VIP to China or higher Sydney taxes?

    • +2

My guess would be the higher departure taxes from sydney airport

    • +2

      Sydney-er richer than Melbourne-ian lol

      • +1

        Sydneysider

  • +2

Cheaper than flying from Sydney to Brisbane.

  • No love for BNE 🥲

  • +1

SYD to XI'an (MU750) is not direct, it stops over in Wuhan.

    • Direct does not necessarily mean non-stop.

      https://simpleflying.com/non-stop-vs-direct-flights/

      • Sure.
Be aware people, these “direct” flights need you to get off the plane, pick up your luggages, go through immigration in Wuhan, wait a couple of hours, re-board the plane…

        • No difference to when Qantas ran direct flights Sydney to New York via LAX.. The main benefit is that it's pretty much impossible to miss your connection when it's the same plane

  • Does the airline provide luggage transfer and accommodation for extended lay overs?

  • -1

Need a flight to Xian with a transit in another major city soni can do both cities. Can you recommend some itinerary please

  • -1

These is no direct flight to xian from Australia

    • Direct does not necessarily mean non-stop.

      https://simpleflying.com/non-stop-vs-direct-flights/

      • -1

Direct means non stop , you’re misleading everyone here , pls make that clear , not everyone here know your special flight terms, the word DIRRCT means non stop

        • No it does not - Direct means a flight possibly with the same flight number but maybe stopping at an intermediate point.

Non-stop means without stopping somewhere else.

A direct flight refers to a flight between two cities that carries a single flight number. While non-stop flights are indeed direct in their nature, such flights can also involve one or more stops en route to their final destination. These can serve various purposes, such as picking up or offloading passengers, or just technical stops for refueling. In some cases, they can involve a change of aircraft.

Direct flights can be an important part of an airline's operations and marketing. After all, an airline may advertise, and sell, a flight between two cities – carrying a single flight number – but this does not need to be offered as a single non-stop flight. This is common in the US aviation market but can happen everywhere. From a customer's perspective, seeing a keyword like 'direct' can be persuasive.

  • Hey OP, does the travel date listed on your website means we have to travel to and return on those exact dates to be get that price?

For example, Melbourne - Chongqing shows $546 for travel date 1-Oct to 23-Oct but when I change the return date to earlier (says 14-OCT) it’s a few hundred more. Thanks!

    • +1

other date pairs will be a bit more expensive just play around on his website. increases were negligible imo

  • Hi Op. From your experience - When should I expect sale for flights for Europe April/May Next year ? Best guess will do. Thank you.
