Since this comes with a 50-pack of RJ45 CAT6 plugs it turns out to be a pretty good deal. The 50-pack usually goes for $40-50 by itself.
It should stack with the 15% Cashrewards on Tools, so will take the total to about $60.

I know this is a genuine Klein tool but I bought a ZoeRax version on AliExpress that comes in a nice padded case with a set of cutters for just over $40. Also ordered 50 pass-through connectors from the same place for $8.

    • I haven't tried their crimp but I've had maybe 75% success rate with the crimp connectors that apparently suited my type of cat6 cable. Sometimes the contacts just seem to just push the wire to the side or not cut through it properly. Other times it looks like the plastic deforms.

Klein, cable matters etc I've had near 100%.

  • Is this something one would use to relocate NBN router? Is there a diy guide someone can point out to please?

    • It's for making custom Ethernet cables. If that's what you need to move your NBN router, then yes.

      Otherwise no.

      • Thanks for the reply mate. I need something to extend my HFC cable so I can relocate my NBN box. What would I need? Or am i best off just getting a cabler to do it?

HFC is coaxial cable right? This tool is for ethernet cable plugs (cat5 or cat6).

If you're just moving that (from memory) black vertical free standing box, either buy a pre-terminated coaxial cable that's long enough for you, or get suitable cable, crimp, and matching connectors for it.

To save money and effing around, I would probably go for a longer pre-terminated cable.
However if you're running it through walls and and money isn't a problem, then making a custom cable might be a better, cleaner way of doing it.
