    • I didn't add the Mitre Saw Stand for $89.99 because it's $10 more than last year.

In store its price tag is $79.99 (at least at the stores I was in this morning in Melbourne), I didn't need it bec I already have one from Bunnings. BTW the saw box includes 2 blades; one 24T blade installed and one 48T blade. The model is HM2165SPX.

I wonder if Bunnings will price match with the Ozito 1800

    • +2

Some might prefer the wider cutting capacity of the Scheppach 340mm. Ozito is 310mm.

An extra inch makes a lot of difference.

      • +4

I have been told the opposite…

It's ok. It's how you use it that matters. I guess.^

Ayo how do you have three thumbs???!

An extra inch makes a lot of difference

        That is what she said

The issue with the Ozito stuff is finding replacement blades. Finding the right size with the required bore size is almost impossible.
At least with the ALDI saw you can buy a number of blades from Bunnings.

    • Came here with exactly the same thought. I'm in the market for one of these, prefer Ozito to Aldi trash.

Not sure if Scheppach is actually an Aldi brand as I've seen it available elsewhere.

Regardless it has a 5 year warranty & no questions asked 60 day return policy through Aldi.

        • True, Ozito is just so convenient & easy to return / make a "warranty claim" after a few years. If the Aldi one breaks you can't easily get a replacement.

Also looking forward to this price match

    Lets see what bunnings do

    I didn't know I needed a Sliding Mitre Saw!

    • buy now think later

  • "Scheppach" Is this a new ALDIs brand?

    • It's the noise it makes when you cut wood. Like Schweppes is the noise a bottle makes when it releases gas.

  • I don't remember this brand..
Actually a couple new 'brands' seem to have popped up in ALDI, selling much the same products I've seen in the past. Wouldn't be good for any warranty

  • One job and toss it. It's a toy

Curious as to why this member deactivated? Does anyone know? I'm pretty sure they were a long term member too. Juniper Serratus, something like that as the username, had maybe a digital clock face as their avatar pic? Now I'm curious as to whether I'm remembering them correctly.

      • Maybe they were embarrassed by their own comment after seeing it has a 5 year warranty. However they upvoted so it's all a bit confusing.

  • Does anyone know where I can get replacement blade for this saw? Can’t find any 216mm blade anywhere.

  • A blade cost more than half of the entire saw? WTF?

    • Kinda kills the second hand market for the low end mitre saws. Was going to get one off marketplace but if the blade is dull you’re up for another 80 bucks

    • the mistake is thinking that the blade is expensive. the saw is just really cheap but a good blade is going to cost you.

  • no Bunnings price match yet!

Picked up the Scheppach from local ALDI (Northlakes QLD) this morning. They had like 8 of these on the pallet at the time.

Hoping no one buys the $89 Mitre Saw stand and it ends up marked down for clearance in a month or so!

    • Have you tried it out yet?

      • hi @klonky
        sorry for the late reply.
I did use the saw this weekend to cut some straight cuts of pine timber.
Used the 24 teeth blade that was pre-installed. It cut through it like butter.
However I would like to try the 48 teeth blade to see the difference,
Gotta figure out how to change it first lol.

Disclaimer : I am no wood working expert, I have only used a Ozito battery powered circular saw in the past for odd jobs around the house, biggest job being a chicken coop build. I reckon this would have certainly been handy to have then,

Overall, I am quite happy with it. Just wish the laser guide was bit brighter ?
