    you need two of these

    so $265 or so?

    • For the 2.0 stereo Hi-Fi system, yes, that's correct.

Why do you need 2 of these? Can you explain please?

        • These are mono (1) channel amplifiers. To achieve stereo sound (left right) you need two.

          Why?

To double the power output so you can play your music loud!

  • Been reading about these. Bought 2. Think later.

Gah that's a lot cheaper than the Kickstarter. How annoying.

You did not miss anything. Watch Erin Audio Corner's review. I skipped a long time ago, it's just hype

well i mean how much innovation can there be in tpa3255s

        i would put it like this… you're getting a true 100w x 2 for $265

granted you gotta put up with two boxes and you will need some upstream device to control it but how much would you spend with say… anyone else to also get a true 100w x 2???

there's some stereo tpa3255s out for under $150 that would suffice for most people

        • Why would you get 2 of these and not the stereo v3 for $95 at Amazon to drive 2 passive speakers - sorry newbie here

@Maxdax: The V3 mono has XLR inputs and "PFFB implementation which for a class D amplifier means it should have no load dependency together with lower distortion". And being just "power amps" means they don't have a volume knob, which is good if you have volume control elsewhere in your system.

There is also the ZA3 to consider though.

        • Two of these with the new Wiim ultra as your source and preamp would be an awesome little system.

          • @CheapandUsed: yeah this would be STUNNING system

to get reasonable better you are talkiing several thousand

            $599 for wiim ultra
            $265 for 2 x v3 monos

$865 for a world class system with PEQ, RC, great dacs, phono

you cannot do much better for double triple the price

  • Interesting product.

I'm tempted, just for no other reason than "I can"

Also, it reads that only 1 power supply is required for 2 amps.

    • You need to get get a combo/package/whatever with the 48V 10A power supply to power 2 off 1, otherwise you get a 48V 5A to power each amp individually.

  • Is it a good idea to use these with headphones?
Would the setup be two v3 mono's with the 48V 10A power supply and splitter cable, plus a decent DAC in similar price range (please give your recommendations)
Or is it better to go with a combo DAC/AMP like the fiio K11?

    • The power amp is designed for passive speakers. Are you sure you want to use it for a headphone system?

      • No idea, what should I be looking at getting for a pair of headphones?

        • It depends on the headphones, but something like a Topping DX3 Pro+ or Fiio K7 would be a reasonable default option for the desktop, or a Qudelix-5K if you want a portable option.
